Although the food uses fairly standard ingredients (beef, pork, fish, poultry, etc.), each item from the lobster toast, to the sweet potato agnolloti, to the corvina was absolutely unique and delicious. We were kept guessing as to what the flavors were, which is a unique experience for us as we are quite good cooks ourselves.

This is a small place with friendly staff, an inviting atmosphere, and delicious food. I would definitely go again!

Excellent food and outstanding friendly service. This is a great neighborhood restaurant and I highly recommend it. The fish and meat dishes were very tender and fresh and the sauces were subtle yet extremely tasty. One of the Twin Cities finer dining experiences. Don't be fooled by the understated exterior appearance.

Service was outstanding as usual. Lobster rolls were terrific. Barramundi was tasteless. Beef was excellent. Cream puffs wonderful. We came early and the noise was tolerable. Always recommended.

The food and service at Joan's continue to be outstanding. We've eaten here 7-8 times in the past year and it has become our favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. The staff are so very friendly, intuitive, responsive, and welcoming (server was Dan). The food is so delicious and always with a bit of flair and surprise - the flavors are just incredible. The brown butter pudding NEVER disappoints, and the chocolate pot de cre'me was also delicious. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

The food was outstanding!!! Our waitress was great and we really liked her but a few mistakes were made. She brought me the wrong order and quickly returned with the correct food. One of our food dishes had nuts in it after we made her aware of a nut allergy. My martini was outstanding. When the check arrived the food item that was mistakenly brought to me was still on the bill. That was also corrected quickly. Over all it was a great place to have dinner. I will definitely go back with my wife.

Another outrageously delicious dinner at our favorite restaurant, this time for anniversary! Chef Susan outdid herself with our meal And as always, the service was impeccable. Never disappoints!

For the excellent cuisine, personalized level of service, and simple but very nice ambiance, Joan's hits it out of the park on all attributes. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Saint Paul!

We went there for our anniversary, and the staff went the extra mile. From celebratory table dressing, a glass of champagne, and even printed us out a photo. Food was superb, server was knowledgeable, and the dessert is always the highlight.

Joan’s truly hit it out of the park (pun intended). Joan and Susan are amazingly talented women and deserve all of the accolades they’ve received. Our server, Kelly, was friendly and attentive with a wonderful wine suggestion and accommodation for dietary needs. The gnocchi with mushrooms was so delicious that I dreamt about it. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Joan's in the Park continues to be one of our favorite 'special dining' spots. Unfortunately we are not able to eat here on a weekly basis, but the food, drink and service are very much worth the price of entry.

This visit included a flank steak with potatoes in a wonderful cheese sauce and a filet mignon with mushrooms, both of which were extremely enjoyable. The cream puff desert was the perfect end to the dinner.

The wait staff is always friendly and helpful and this time was no different. Dan made us feel welcome and ensured we never had an empty glass or an unmet need.

We cannot praise Joan's in the Park enough and recommend it to all of our friends.

The food was fabulous. Had the scallops which were excellent. My friend commented on how good her filet was. The service was equally wonderful. The noise level was a bit high for a small cozy restaurant. All in all, it is now in my top 5 restaurants in the St Paul area.

If you eat early noise level is conversation friendly, later conversation is hard.
The trade off is excellent, local, from scratch cooking.

Excellent meal in a cozy, bistro-ish, neighborhood-restaurant-feel place with a creative menu, great food and excellent service. The only negative is the relatively high cost--probably 'worth it', but something that will definitely need to be tucked into the equation as far as a return visit is concerned.

Outstanding meal! From the starters, to the entree, the kale Cesar salad, the best bread i have ever had, the wine, etc... we will be going back soon. On top of all that we had amazing service from the time we walked in the door.

We LOVE Joan's in the Park. After discovering this wonderful little restaurant last year, we have returned every couple of months since. From the outside, the space seems very unassuming, but once in the door you are welcomed by an attractive and cozy bar and dining space (nice patio in the summer too).

The food is definitely the star of the show, with a relatively small menu that rotates dishes in and out so there's usually something new to try. From the creative starters and salads to the beautifully prepared and plated entrees, every bite is delicious and special.

The bar and wine list are not huge, but the quality is terrific. It's obvious a lot of attention has been given to wine selection, and I've never been disappointed no matter the price point. The service here is uniformly wonderful. Although servers have different styles and presentations, they are all well-trained, friendly and eager to make sure patrons have a fantastic experience.

Depending on the season and the day, the room can be a little loud, but somehow never loses the cozy vibe. Joan's is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it truly is worth the cost. We tend to splurge when we visit so end up with a pretty healthy tab. However it's absolutely possible to have a nice dinner without spending a fortune.

There aren't many places I would ever rave about, but Joan's in the Park is a fantastic dining experience.

Both the service and the quality of the food is consistently some of the best in the Twin Cities.

Second time there and great again.

Definitely a favorite restaurant. Great food (Susan seems to have a talent for fish), warm service and brown butter pudding! The best!

Dinner at Joan's in the Park was very good. The service from Dan was once again excellent. The value for the quality of food prepared is high relative to comparable restaurants in the Twin Cities. On this visit, the entrees were particularly good for our group: scallops, tenderloin, fish special, a vegetarian mix. The only drawback for business meals at Joan's is the noise level, which is moderate-to-high, making business conversations sometimes challenging. Otherwise, we'll be back!
