Outstanding food, excellent service. Exceptional spot for a special (or no special) occasion. The food and cocktails are off the charts good.
4 of us went for a birthday celebration. All of us had 3 dishes of the 4 that were very good- and 1 of the 4 that was just meh. Our server Dan was great! Anyone would be lucky to have him taking care of your table at Joan's. Recommend you try Joan's if you haven't yet.
The best of the best!!!!
joan's in the Park deserves to be in the top destination conversation for the Twin Cities food scene. Everything is individually prepared with thought and care. The food is exquisite. The neighborhood setting away from the typical top restaurant geographies is charming. The wine list is spectacular with some finds that never appear on other menus. And, on a Wednesday night, the tables were full with a vibrant conversational ambiance. Highly recommended.
Always a great experience. And now an annual tradition.
Met up with best friend for girls night
Perfect as always. We love joan's! Service is remarkable.
My spouse and I both had the 4-course menu. The first 3 courses were small, just a few bites each, which was fine because I still had troubling finishing my main dish. The walnut tart/chicken liver mousse was like starting with dessert (and Daniel our waiter brought a tiny glass of dessert wine to go with it); the baked apple combined soft (not mushy) apple with some crunchy slices; the squash was another pairing of soft veggie with crunchy little lentils. And of course everything was beautifully arranged. My meat course was a half-chicken, brined in cider and roasted. When dining out I usually avoid chicken because 1) I hate dealing with the bones and 2) white meat is usually tasteless and dry. But THIS chicken! Partially de-boned, so it was easy to eat the breast- which was plump and juicy and very flavorful. And amazingly, tasted even better as the next day's leftovers! My spouse liked his meal but he REALLY liked the Cocchi in the Rye. I liked it too--not sweet but a little bitter, so you weren't tempted to toss it back.
Joan's is not huge but they have made their small space inviting and comfortable, and quiet enough for a conversation. Daniel was knowledgeable and solicitous.
I think I've been to all the finer-dining places in the twin cities and I like Joan's best of the current bunch. It feels like your neighborhood restaurant (if your neighborhood restaurant served steak tartare and roasted duck).
I had never heard of the gem of a restaurant. Its hidden in Highland Park and reminds me of how my aunt Tracy might decorate her restaurant if she had one. From the get go we received amazing service. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the host sprinkled birthday confetti on our table to celebrate. The drinks were spot on. We ordered our 4 courses and each one came out better than the previous. We even got a couple palette cleansers throughout the meal. I can't even begin to describe how delicious the food was. I would recommend everyone go there and see for themselves.
I’ve been coming here for a few years and I have to say I’ve never been disappointed with anything on the menu, Even food choices I normally don’t like this place has a way of making everything taste incredible. The food is incredible , The wine list is on point, and this is truly a hidden gem that everyone needs to add to their rotation of fine dining places to go.
Great staff and even better food!! Menu changes and is always great. Something for everyone!
Third time to Joan’s—-always for a special occasion. The ambiance is cozy and on the quieter side. Four course tasting menu was delicious. Everyone had different choices and everyone loved every course. Service was wonderful. Expensive, but always a delight.
One of the best places in the Twin Cities - food, service, drinks - it's all great. A hidden gem.
Great service and incredible food! Can’t go wrong going to this restaurant!!!
Great restaurant with an amazing menu, friendly attentive staff, can't wait to come back.
Wait staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and very prompt. Plates were removed immediately. Food was delicious, especially the tortellini, kale salad, and filet. We will visit again!
Lovely from start to finish!
Great food and service as always. Noise level was high
What a delightful experience we had at Joan’s in the Park.. the food and service were excellent.
It is set up so that you have choices within a four course menu. And for the main dish, they sometimes offer off menu items. The first three courses are small bites of delectable food and flavors. For the main, I chose the off menu duck confit which was out of this world. The only negative was the noise level.
My husband and I were there for our 5 year Anniversary and we had so much fun. We LOVED the food and our server Dan was amazing. We couldn’t stop talking about what a great dinner it was. We loved the soft touches of decor and lighting everywhere, the staff, the food, it was so great. And we were so full and happy when we left!
Absolutely remarkable evening! Mark our waiter was genuine and knowledgable. Food was outstanding. We will be going back!
Service and food amazing as always!
We have driven by this place many times and didn't even know about it. For us it was a unique dining experience. You will not gorge yourself on large portions, you are paying for the food quality, the presentation and the top-notch friendly service. We were not disappointed. Our server Dan did a great job explaining our dining options and was very attentive throughout our dining experience. Be prepared to spend close to $200 for two with drinks, dessert and gratuity but we do not regret going there and will likely be back.
Joan's in the Park was a wonderful place to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary! The menu offered a tempting array of different dishes, all of which were beautiful and delicious. The service was timed very well and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.
Joan's is consistently amazing across the board! It's refined and casual all at the same time, with food and cocktails that are easily some of the best in the Twin Cities. The service is excellent, too. If you love delicious food, this restaurant is not to be missed!
The food and service is top notch. Such a delicious experience.
Original and creative tastes, artistic presentations in a warm and comfortable atmosphere...
Great as always!
Fantastic service. Loved our experience! They made our annivesary dinner very special.
Exceptional every time!
We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful food and the beautiful presentation of each course. The hostess and waiter were very nice and accommodating but it seemed rather hectic and perhaps they could have used a bit more help.
The experience was perfect for our 15th anniversary. The food was rich in flavor and fantastic. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely return. Very Very happy customers. The photo was a bonus.
What an amazing staff! The food is equally incredible!!
Food is always great and the staff are wonderful.
Wonderful place for a special occasion (get the tasting menu!) or any night (enjoy the a la carte menu)! Never disappoints.
I had one of the most delicious meals here I have ever enjoyed. There were 4 courses, but there wasn’t too much food. Each of the first three courses were little jewels of great creativity and superb flavor. The main dish was larger and exquisite. It was reasonably priced for the quality of the food.
Food was well balanced and delicious. Service was perfectly timed. Our server, Kelly, was very informative and on point. I am excited to recommend Joan's in the Park to my friends and anyone else that is looking for an exceptional dining experience. My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with Joan's in the Park!
You need to add more STARS to adequately rate Joan's. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Every-time! I am not aware of anywhere else you can get such amazing dinners like this anymore. Seems to be a lost art and I do mean art. I could have hung my beet salad on the wall and the flavors are so perfectly obtained in each presentation.
As always, delicious food and fantastic service. We love coming here and need to go more frequently.
