Took my husband for his birthday. Service was excellent and food exceptional. Highly recommend for special occasion!!!
We love Joan’s - one of our favorite restaurants!❤️
An absolutely wonderful place. Our guests were blown away!
Amazing meal & drinks. Great service as well.
We will be back regularly.
There are not enough words to describe how absolutely fantastic our dinner was at Jones last night. Oh my goodness, the selection is wonderful. Every mouthful causes you just want to hold the food in your mouth and savor it has long has you could! We loved the charming neighborhood feel and the service was exceptional! Eat.here.often.
We have dined at Joan's in the Park many times. It's a great restaurant with very hospitable family staff and great food.
Great food, great service and great ambiance! Maître d' and head chef were hands on and fantastic.
One of my favorite experiences, gave me birthday confetti and treated me so well
Absolutely charming space, delicious food, and genuinely warm hospitality - capped off by Joan herself and a first-rate server named Dan. We will definitely return.
Lovely, tasty, thoughtful food and service
First time back at Joan’s in over a year. Not going to wait that long for next time. Food is always creative and delicious. The staff is charming and attentive. Although they feature prix fixe dining, everything is available a la carte. Just keep in mind that portions are somewhat smaller. Romantic, cozy and you can even hear your companion! This place is highly rated, but doesn’t get a such traffic and the trendy places. It’s a real gem.
As always we love our dining experiences at Joan’s. From the moment you arrive you are treated to amazing hospitality. Now for the outstanding food and cocktails!!! We would love to describe them in detail, however you must go and enjoy for yourself! You will not be disappointed.
Fabulous food and service. Excellent wine. Truly a special birthday event for 5 sisters! Best steak I have ever had!!
Maybe. All food was very good except for the duck - which was rubbery.
Ambience was quaint but a bit dated. I thought the price was exorbitant. Loved 4/5 courses though and had exceptional service!

Kelly and Daniel took great care of me! The meal was amazing! Susan does a spectacular job with the menu! I was sad that Joan wasn’t there, but a deserved day off, no doubt!
One of the best meals I’ve had, ever. Such carefully planned courses. My only complaint is i wish I could have double or triple of everything ordered. We will be back again, soon!
Excellent in all respects except noise level was kind of high.
Great variety of options for the tasting menu, good strong cocktails.
Fabulous food and wine. Wait staff excellent--warm, friendly, helpful.
Outstanding food, excellent service. Exceptional spot for a special (or no special) occasion. The food and cocktails are off the charts good.
4 of us went for a birthday celebration. All of us had 3 dishes of the 4 that were very good- and 1 of the 4 that was just meh. Our server Dan was great! Anyone would be lucky to have him taking care of your table at Joan's. Recommend you try Joan's if you haven't yet.
For us, the food is the thing and the food at joan’s in the Park was AMAZING. I would highly recommend it to anyone. As mentioned in some other reviews, it’s pretty noisy. I can get annoyed with that but I honestly didn’t notice it once the meal started. I’m already planning for our next visit. (This was our first.)
The best of the best!!!!
joan's in the Park deserves to be in the top destination conversation for the Twin Cities food scene. Everything is individually prepared with thought and care. The food is exquisite. The neighborhood setting away from the typical top restaurant geographies is charming. The wine list is spectacular with some finds that never appear on other menus. And, on a Wednesday night, the tables were full with a vibrant conversational ambiance. Highly recommended.
Always a great experience. And now an annual tradition.
We absolutely love the food, staff, service and ambiance - one of our favorite restaurants!❤️
Met up with best friend for girls night
Perfect as always. We love joan's! Service is remarkable.
My spouse and I both had the 4-course menu. The first 3 courses were small, just a few bites each, which was fine because I still had troubling finishing my main dish. The walnut tart/chicken liver mousse was like starting with dessert (and Daniel our waiter brought a tiny glass of dessert wine to go with it); the baked apple combined soft (not mushy) apple with some crunchy slices; the squash was another pairing of soft veggie with crunchy little lentils. And of course everything was beautifully arranged. My meat course was a half-chicken, brined in cider and roasted. When dining out I usually avoid chicken because 1) I hate dealing with the bones and 2) white meat is usually tasteless and dry. But THIS chicken! Partially de-boned, so it was easy to eat the breast- which was plump and juicy and very flavorful. And amazingly, tasted even better as the next day's leftovers! My spouse liked his meal but he REALLY liked the Cocchi in the Rye. I liked it too--not sweet but a little bitter, so you weren't tempted to toss it back.
Joan's is not huge but they have made their small space inviting and comfortable, and quiet enough for a conversation. Daniel was knowledgeable and solicitous.
I think I've been to all the finer-dining places in the twin cities and I like Joan's best of the current bunch. It feels like your neighborhood restaurant (if your neighborhood restaurant served steak tartare and roasted duck).
I had never heard of the gem of a restaurant. Its hidden in Highland Park and reminds me of how my aunt Tracy might decorate her restaurant if she had one. From the get go we received amazing service. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the host sprinkled birthday confetti on our table to celebrate. The drinks were spot on. We ordered our 4 courses and each one came out better than the previous. We even got a couple palette cleansers throughout the meal. I can't even begin to describe how delicious the food was. I would recommend everyone go there and see for themselves.
I’ve been coming here for a few years and I have to say I’ve never been disappointed with anything on the menu, Even food choices I normally don’t like this place has a way of making everything taste incredible. The food is incredible , The wine list is on point, and this is truly a hidden gem that everyone needs to add to their rotation of fine dining places to go.
Great staff and even better food!! Menu changes and is always great. Something for everyone!

Third time to Joan’s—-always for a special occasion. The ambiance is cozy and on the quieter side. Four course tasting menu was delicious. Everyone had different choices and everyone loved every course. Service was wonderful. Expensive, but always a delight.
One of the best places in the Twin Cities - food, service, drinks - it's all great. A hidden gem.
Great service and incredible food! Can’t go wrong going to this restaurant!!!
Great restaurant with an amazing menu, friendly attentive staff, can't wait to come back.
Wait staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and very prompt. Plates were removed immediately. Food was delicious, especially the tortellini, kale salad, and filet. We will visit again!
Lovely from start to finish!
Great food and service as always. Noise level was high
What a delightful experience we had at Joan’s in the Park.. the food and service were excellent.
It is set up so that you have choices within a four course menu. And for the main dish, they sometimes offer off menu items. The first three courses are small bites of delectable food and flavors. For the main, I chose the off menu duck confit which was out of this world. The only negative was the noise level.
Highly recommend.
