I can’t say enough about how great this place is. How do they do this Every. Single. Time?
Excellent meal, went here on Valentines Day. Creative and oh so tasty! Nice wine selection.
Only downside was our server who just seemed to drop our plates in front of us with little to no conversation or explaining of the plates.
I would definitely go back.
As always the food was excellent but the price of it was expensive. Being busy on V Day it was very noisy.
Great food and service!
The food and service never fail to please here. Thanks for making my brother's 60th birthday a fabulous one!
On this quiet winter night, the staff was perfect and the food was tremendous. We can’t wait to return for another special date.
Joan's in the Park is a little gem in our neighborhood. I think I can easily say it's my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities.
Again, the evening at Joan's was exceptional - we've been enjoying Joan's since they opened. Never a disappointment. It's like eating with family, but a family that has the best chefs in the world. So love this wonderful neighborhood gem.
Fabulous as usual!
Everything was wonderful- perfect date night out for our anniversary. Every member of the staff was attentive and the ambiance was elegantly casual.
We went to Joan's in the Park to celebrate a dear friend's birthday and it was amazing. We all had the four-course menu and every single course was phenomenal. Portions were perfect and service was wonderful as well... we will be back!
This is a small and intimate restaurant but you don’t feel as if you are being crowded. Reservations are a must for this outstanding restaurant. The food was simply amazing and the service perfect. Menu is prix fixe four-course though you can order ala carts if you prefer. But I recommend you stay with the four courses.
Each course gives you six options including vegetarian if that is your preference. I started with the foie gras appetizer then moved to the pear salad. Both courses were small but beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Third course was a gnocchi dish that was lighter than I thought it would be. Up to this point the portions were small but each was flavorful. My fourth course was the pork shank and it was a substantial serving, such that I needed a take out container. The pork was very tender and well prepared. Perfect, in fact. For dessert I had the brown butter pudding with a cup of coffee. Wonderful!
This was a wonderful first meal at this restaurant and I encourage you to try it. They have a full bar and a good wine list. I will be back!
This dining experience was phenomenal! The food and the service are stellar.
This truly is a neighborhood gem. We enjoyed celebrating my daughters birthday recently at Joan's. The staff had thoughtfully decorated the table with birthday confetti, they took a group photo of us and the service is simply the best in the cities. The food was top notch and the teens enjoyed trying new things from the 1st 3 courses and loved their steaks!
From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for something special. Joan took our coats and immediately brought champagne to the table. We shared a few items from each course and each had our own entree. From the artistic plating of the food to the detail in creating flavors that played off and complimented each other, this was hands down one of the best dining experiences of me and my companions ever had. Kudos Joan and Susan! A big shout out to our server Dan as well. You rocked it out!!
Joan's remains one of our favorite restaurants, with exceptional food and consistently excellent service. This was our f1rst visit since they moved to their four course menu, and it was a wonderful treat. First of all, the multi course menu actually ended up costing less than ordering individual items.
There were 4 of us, so we enjoyed a number of different items in each course offering. All four courses had terrific options, and the food was beautifully prepared, as always. The pasta course was especially enjoyable.
A special mention to our amazing server Kelly. She was fully engaged and engaging, and made the evening especially nice.
The flavors were fantastic and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Will be going back
First time at Joan’s since they began their tasting menu. As usual, food and service were excellent. We will retu.
Great food and service!
A special place for a memorable evening. This dining experience was all about flavor and presentation. The menu concept is that you choose among 5 options for each of 4 courses with the final course as the meat course. Each dish is very small, but in the end, the meal was quite satisfying. The wine selection is extensive and the service was impeccable. A gem.
Fish was a bit dry
We had such a wonderful birthday dinner at Joan's on the Park! Our server was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Joan was there checking in on every table. She even brought confetti to our table once she found out we were there for a birthday! Everything was delicious but the filet mignon, market fish, apple manchego salad, cocktails, and the bread and butter stood out. 100% worth it - we will be back!
Do not get rid of those grits!
Fabulous, as always!
Joan’s never disappoints. Amazing food and amazing service. The staff is second to none that I’ve seen in the Twin Cities. My favorite restaurant in the city!
It just doesn't get any better than this. I ask myself, "Why do I bother to eat anywhere else?" The food is always divine, the service impeccable. Quality ingredients at every step. We enjoyed a four-course tasting menu that offered choices for every course. Each course was a surprise of flavors and textures. I can't wait to go back.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food. Highly recommend for a most enjoyable dining experience
On this return trip the food and overall experience did not disappoint. We brought some foodie friends fro Chicago, and they left jealous of our good fortune to have such wonderful eating opportunities. Nice wines accompanied our food choices.
Wonderful atmosphere with top of the line service! And the food was spectacular!!!! Worth every penny spent for a quiet night out with good food and conversation (husband )
Joan's in the Park has moved up to our #1 restaurant in the Twin Cities. Great food, friendly staff, and owners who go out of their way to make your dining experience exceptional.
Joan’s is one of our all time favorites! Honestly, it’s like going to a Michelin star or James Beard award winning restaurant every time. The food is amazing, creative, delicious and beautiful. The service is fantastic. Joan’s adult children are often our servers. The feeling in this restaurant is difficult to describe it’s a sense of family and warmth. Kudos to everyone, especially to the wonderful and creative chef.
Food and services were great! The new menu format was a great way to try new things and the variety was wonderful.
We had a wonderful dinner and the food was terrific and service outstanding!
Revelatory place for dinner ! Really good well crafted meal ... portions were perfect ... hefty price and worth every penny ... thoroughly enjoyed it..how have we missed going there for 7 yrs?! Have lived in the area all that time .. large table of folks sitting close by having a hoot .. really loud ... but we did fine ... I’m sure they did also ! We will be back , maybe even regulars ...
Excellent all around: food, drinks, service etc
Lovely place- quiet, elegant, unique. The food was remarkable, portions small but even my outsized husband found it ample. Rich, complex flavors, gorgeous presentations, and perfect service make this a stand out restaurant for special occasions.
Wonderful small portions in an exquisite five course meal. Don't skip dessert!
Joan's never disappoints!! We are treated like family - all the staff are so welcoming and we love the new menu. I don't know what a lot of the ingredients are, but the servers explain the menu and help us pair the courses. It's so delicious and fun. If you want a special night and dinner, please stop in!!
Always a treat to go to Joan’s in the Park. The food is always delicious and the staff are fantastic
