Jinbeh Japanese Restaurant - Frisco
We took some visiting guests and our kids here for their first hibachi experience. We were seated quickly and friendly but then the chef was very bad. The food was okay but there was no performance to the cooking and he seemed unhappy and bored. Totally not worth it and will not go here again.
The owner and manager were super nice!! I was just expecting something a little more upscale
My teriyaki steak was to tough to eat. Everybody else’s food was fine.
We had an excellent time st Jinbeh. The chef was friendly and engaging. Our food was delicious.
It was a bit loud for our business lunch since there was construction but we made do.
Does matter if you have a reservation, they will seat you at the leisure. Restaurant under remodel at this time. No bar, no seating while you wait even though you have a reservation. Drinks available but made by manager who obviously has no bartending experience. Overall terrible experience. Go to Behihana's for this type of meal and experience. Wish I had.
I think the restaurant should close until the remodeling is complete.
Only reason for the 3 star ambiance is they are under a remodel so a little messy on one side of their restaurant. Our waitress was on point and great, chef was entertaining and cooked everything perfect. My 3 year old son was very entertained. Will be back!!
When compared to other Japanese steak houses I have been to, Jinbeh was average.
We always love our experience at Jinbeh! It is fun hibachi and yet casual, don't have to feel like you have to dress up. This is the best food at a hibachi style restaurant I have eaten! Usually you go anticipating to pay for the "show" and the food is so so, but I think Jinbeh is actually one of the best authentic Japanese food restaurants in the Frisco - Plano area. The chefs are always fun and entertaining. The service is great.
The chef was one of the most boring chef’s I’ve ever had at any Hibachi place which makes me second guess ever coming here again. The waiter was prompt and nice but that’s about it. Also- I made a reservation and explained it was for my son’s bday and they did nothing.
Excellwnr food. Restaurant is being renovated. They should have mentioned it on their website. This was a business dinner. I would have picked another restaurant if I had known about the renovation in progress.
Fantastic as always!
Would give 5 stars as this is our favorite Japanese restaurant in Frisco; however, our son has celiac, and they use to make their “yum yum” sauce gluten free. They are very accommodating and are able to make his hibachi in the back with GF soy sauce, and he still likes it, but he LOVED that sauce, as do the rest of us. I hope they can make the “yum yum” sauce GF again.
No mention of renovation underway, the place is very tired and dated, air conditioning was nor working properly (way too hot). I am sure it will be nice once renovated, but I would not go back given nobody said it was being renovated. Also, not a good value for the quality of food. Much better choices out there.
Good food and nice staff. They are almost done with needed renovations. Will definitely go back.
I always enjoy my "Hibachi Experience". Jinbeh is one of my favorites. This is a commonplace for my family's birthday celebrations.
Very nice dinner.
The staff was great. Food was pretty good.
The fans did not work ...the whole place was Smokey. Our table had oil dripping out of it and it had stained the carpet...it has to have been doing that for a day or two.
I would give this place a second chance

The food is great and our kids love it, always! Our birthday boy specifically requested it.
Normally service is outstanding. Chef was great but wait staff forgot orders, had to request things two or three times. Very disappointing.
This was a great experience! Food was quite good, but the service was outstanding. They went out of their way to give me a great experience and I appreciated it so much. Well done!
It was okay. We had originally wanted to go to another restaurant to celebrate my birthday, but due to graduation could not get in. Jinbeh was ok, the food was good, service was not the greatest I have had in other Japanese hibachi grills. Did not feel special for my birthday, other place make a really big deal, come out with drums and offer free mint tea ice cream. We had to ask if they could keep the cake in the kitchen (it wasn't offered), we had to remind the waiter when he was brining the check about the cake (he did light candles for us and sing by himself). It was hot, they do not have good ventilation, the air was very stuffy with the smoke, luckily I was sitting by a floor fan that the waiter turned directly on me after I mentioned to him about it being hot. I will go back, again the food was good, but not for anything special just if we are in the area and wanting hibachi.
The food tasted nice but we felt short changed. We were told that our dinner came with ice cream but our waiter never brought it. We ordered white rice and that was never brought out to us until we asked about it when we were almost done eating. We had to wait for extended periods to get drink refills. My wife ordered colossal shrimp but they were nothing more than regular shrimp and for $29 you would think you would get more than 8 shrimp. When you use the word colossal, you think of large prawns, not standard shrimp cocktail size. We were also not given any bean sprouts like the tables around us and really enjoy them. For some reason, the room was unusually more smoky than it has been in the past which burned our eyes. Anyway, even though what we ate tasted nice, it just felt like we were cheated for the $142 we paid for 3 people. (no alcohol).
Mother’s Day meal. Was a good time!
Great! Food always great
We had so much fun! Our cook was interactive with us which made it fun. Our waiter was always around when we needed him. Thanks for a great time.
Love the food and plenty for leftovers the next day.
The food was amazing, I am definitely coming back!!!!!!!
Met friends for dinner & it was fabulous! We were seated as soon as our entire party arrived. I had the hibachi steak & shrimp & it was cooked to perfection. Even the soup, salad & fried rice were delicious. Our grill cook was great too. He was very attentive. All of my friends had a great time. It was a bit noisy but it was prom night so that made a difference.
One of the best chefs we have ever had and was very quick!
Birthday special great fun
Waited 45 minutes even with a reservation and this wasn’t the first time. We waited almost an hour the last time we ate here with a reservation. Food was just ok. Chicken wasn’t cooked fully. The vegetables were not the full vegetables that they normally serve. It’s like it was the end of the night so they only gave you the basics. This is probably our list trip.
Great hibachi food and people are abundant here, my only issue would probably be that there are usually a lot of kids around and they can be really loud sometimes which kind of messes with the mood of a date or formal meeting.
Great as always!
I have been a customer for a long time (15 years) at the Irving location and visited Lewisville over 3 dozen times but first time in Frisco. It was truly interesting to see that they have reduced portions and no longer served a mixed mixture of veggies that used to include broccoli...not any more, now just zucchini and onions...then at end if you choose bean sprouts. The meat portions are also smaller and you no longer get the shrimp starter with hibachi.
I ordered a large portion ($3 extra) of chicken fried rice with no egg and then went to eat it last night (Sunday); the rice had no veggies or chicken in it...only rice (picture attached). I was not happy. The service was great as the server assistants were on top of it but the actual Server should have made sure that my togo order was made correctly as he repeated the orders to us. The Server (Nawni H) was Asian and English did not seem to be his first language but that is no excuse; Servers should be able to understand and "effectively" communicate with their customers. I know the majority of Jinbeh's customers first language is English.
Great food as always! They do plan for you to be there for an hour, so this is not the place for long conversations.
This was our teenage granddaughters choice for our family celebration of her birthday. We have always enjoyed our meals at Jinbeh and this evening was special to all six of us.
