Jinbeh Japanese Restaurant - Frisco
Would give 5 stars as this is our favorite Japanese restaurant in Frisco; however, our son has celiac, and they use to make their “yum yum” sauce gluten free. They are very accommodating and are able to make his hibachi in the back with GF soy sauce, and he still likes it, but he LOVED that sauce, as do the rest of us. I hope they can make the “yum yum” sauce GF again.
No mention of renovation underway, the place is very tired and dated, air conditioning was nor working properly (way too hot). I am sure it will be nice once renovated, but I would not go back given nobody said it was being renovated. Also, not a good value for the quality of food. Much better choices out there.
Good food and nice staff. They are almost done with needed renovations. Will definitely go back.
I always enjoy my "Hibachi Experience". Jinbeh is one of my favorites. This is a commonplace for my family's birthday celebrations.
Very nice dinner.
The staff was great. Food was pretty good.
The fans did not work ...the whole place was Smokey. Our table had oil dripping out of it and it had stained the carpet...it has to have been doing that for a day or two.
I would give this place a second chance

The food is great and our kids love it, always! Our birthday boy specifically requested it.
Normally service is outstanding. Chef was great but wait staff forgot orders, had to request things two or three times. Very disappointing.
This was a great experience! Food was quite good, but the service was outstanding. They went out of their way to give me a great experience and I appreciated it so much. Well done!
It was okay. We had originally wanted to go to another restaurant to celebrate my birthday, but due to graduation could not get in. Jinbeh was ok, the food was good, service was not the greatest I have had in other Japanese hibachi grills. Did not feel special for my birthday, other place make a really big deal, come out with drums and offer free mint tea ice cream. We had to ask if they could keep the cake in the kitchen (it wasn't offered), we had to remind the waiter when he was brining the check about the cake (he did light candles for us and sing by himself). It was hot, they do not have good ventilation, the air was very stuffy with the smoke, luckily I was sitting by a floor fan that the waiter turned directly on me after I mentioned to him about it being hot. I will go back, again the food was good, but not for anything special just if we are in the area and wanting hibachi.
The food tasted nice but we felt short changed. We were told that our dinner came with ice cream but our waiter never brought it. We ordered white rice and that was never brought out to us until we asked about it when we were almost done eating. We had to wait for extended periods to get drink refills. My wife ordered colossal shrimp but they were nothing more than regular shrimp and for $29 you would think you would get more than 8 shrimp. When you use the word colossal, you think of large prawns, not standard shrimp cocktail size. We were also not given any bean sprouts like the tables around us and really enjoy them. For some reason, the room was unusually more smoky than it has been in the past which burned our eyes. Anyway, even though what we ate tasted nice, it just felt like we were cheated for the $142 we paid for 3 people. (no alcohol).
Mother’s Day meal. Was a good time!
Great! Food always great
We had so much fun! Our cook was interactive with us which made it fun. Our waiter was always around when we needed him. Thanks for a great time.
Love the food and plenty for leftovers the next day.
The food was amazing, I am definitely coming back!!!!!!!
Met friends for dinner & it was fabulous! We were seated as soon as our entire party arrived. I had the hibachi steak & shrimp & it was cooked to perfection. Even the soup, salad & fried rice were delicious. Our grill cook was great too. He was very attentive. All of my friends had a great time. It was a bit noisy but it was prom night so that made a difference.
One of the best chefs we have ever had and was very quick!
Birthday special great fun
Waited 45 minutes even with a reservation and this wasn’t the first time. We waited almost an hour the last time we ate here with a reservation. Food was just ok. Chicken wasn’t cooked fully. The vegetables were not the full vegetables that they normally serve. It’s like it was the end of the night so they only gave you the basics. This is probably our list trip.
Great hibachi food and people are abundant here, my only issue would probably be that there are usually a lot of kids around and they can be really loud sometimes which kind of messes with the mood of a date or formal meeting.
Great as always!
I have been a customer for a long time (15 years) at the Irving location and visited Lewisville over 3 dozen times but first time in Frisco. It was truly interesting to see that they have reduced portions and no longer served a mixed mixture of veggies that used to include broccoli...not any more, now just zucchini and onions...then at end if you choose bean sprouts. The meat portions are also smaller and you no longer get the shrimp starter with hibachi.
I ordered a large portion ($3 extra) of chicken fried rice with no egg and then went to eat it last night (Sunday); the rice had no veggies or chicken in it...only rice (picture attached). I was not happy. The service was great as the server assistants were on top of it but the actual Server should have made sure that my togo order was made correctly as he repeated the orders to us. The Server (Nawni H) was Asian and English did not seem to be his first language but that is no excuse; Servers should be able to understand and "effectively" communicate with their customers. I know the majority of Jinbeh's customers first language is English.
Great food as always! They do plan for you to be there for an hour, so this is not the place for long conversations.
This was our teenage granddaughters choice for our family celebration of her birthday. We have always enjoyed our meals at Jinbeh and this evening was special to all six of us.
Squished in two additional people and clearly they didnt fit causing my children to be uncomfortable. Server also took my menu away to give it to the people she put with us without me even getting to view it. There was one menu between 5 of us. Additionally, she charged herself an 18% tip when we were only a party of 5, 2 adults and 3 children. She never refilled drinks and halfway through brought out to-go boxes as if we were being rushed. We will never go back as we also called and tried to get the undeserving tip back, we will see if GM returns the phone call.
Daughter & 2 of her friends went for a birthday dinner. Chef put on a show and it was fantastic!
Very rushed! Before 1/2 through meal they brought the Check and styrofoam containers for leftovers. We were still eating, no place to put the to go containers, everything was on RUSH. The food exceptional but seriously they need to bring it down a notch! We were not asked if we wanted dessert.
Expensive (worth the food) but want to turn tables too bad.
I didn’t expect to be sat with multiple people on “date night” with my wife. But we made the best of it by associating with the people who we sat with at the hibachi table! It was fun anyway. It would just be nice to have a heads up or at least asked if there was a seating preference. Had I known, I would have chosen to sit in the sushi bar area where we can have a more intimate and quiet setting. I just know for next time! Definitely going back though! Service was excellent and the sushi was amazing! Well done!
Best ever!!!! It is our weekly date night place...we always look forward to going!
Lots of waiting
Went for valentine's day dinner date and it was an excellent choice! My only complaint is that we were there on time for our 8'oclock reservation and they were still seating up the 7:30s until 8:15 before they even started seating the 8'oclock. While I understand how busy it can get, it's unfortunate when even with a reservation you have to wait 45 minutes, we had to wait almost 30 then to get seated. And given that hibachi cooking has a lot of food, I know I was one of several people who were probably starving on an empty stomach waiting to be fed so just being courteous of our time as paying waiting customers is the only improvement I would suggest. Otherwise excellent food, great entertaining chefs, and a perfect place for special occasions and dates!
Always great. We go once or twice a month and get the Chateaubriand. It is SO good you will never want another cut of meat ever!
Food was good. Service and ambiance could be improved.
Really great service. Unfortunately, food was just OK, and all four members of our party had to hurry to the restroom when we reached our respective homes. That makes it hard to recommend the place.
Great as always!
Food was excellent as always. Service is always fun, too. Only minor question mark is price. We recently went to the other major chain that specializes in the hibachi-style cooking. My wife, two sons and I ordered the same meal at both places, only to have Jinbeh cost about $20 MORE than the other mainstay place. It is even more expensive considering that we got an extra order of fried rice at the other place - more like the equivalent of $25. Again - not a deal-breaker, but also not really justified IMO.
We have eaten at Jimbeh many times and never been disappointed.
