Wine and seafood date night.
The place was fantastic from the ambiance to the service! EVerybody was very nice and attentive. When we told them there was a bday in the party, they went out of the way and gave her a glass of champagne on the house at the beginning, a desert and some cognac at the end! The food was excellent, very well done and flavorful. We will go there often whenever I visit Mammoth!
The fried cheese is amazing and unique. Great wine list. Fantastic desserts.
Perfection. Authentic AF
Waiter forgot to take entree order after ordering appetizers.
Seafood stew tasted like it was out of a can.
Screaming child behind us.
As compensation the waiter provided pita pieces as complimentary. And made sure to tell us that they usually charge $2 for additional pita pieces. Well thank you so much!
I reached out to management before writing this review, but got no response.
We had a 6:30 reservation, arrived on time. Service was slow. Food was mediocre. We were having a fun time anyways because we were on vacation. Then our waiter dropped our check 1 hour 20 minutes into the meal while we still had full drinks and a full dessert. We were asked to kindly leave ASAP because they needed the table. Not the kind of "service" you expect when paying $70/person for dinner.
Food is slightly above average. Waiter forgot to put in our order. We waited an hour and a half to get our entrees. Luckily kids and apps were good and filled the time. The restaurant did the right thing and bought a beer and dessert for us. I'll go back if in the area again due to the solid food and taking ownership of a mistake!
I should get a full refund! Valentine’s dinner.
My wife gets her entree. I did not. After 20 minutes waiting, waiting the waiter apologizes. There was a screw up in the kitchen. I was offered a salad. I was not charged for 2 glasses of wine. Somethin’🥴
My son had a hair in his food. The meat was burnt and chicken was bad. Food was not good at all and was slow to come out. Wouldn’t go back!
Phenomenal Greek food. This is the closest to authentic Greek food since ive been to Greece!
After a hard day of skiing, Jimmy’s was just what we needed. Good food, good service good atmosphere and music. A great Mammoth Lakes restaurant!
We always have a lovely time here.
It’s our favorite in Mammoth.
Prior to Jimmy's we tried other local restaurants that were just ok. In fact, below Jimmy's is Red Lantern Chinese and the food is awful, so we were weary about Jimmy's. Thankfully, Jimmy's did not disappoint!! We started with the trio dips: feta, hummus, and baba gannoush. All excellent and flavorful. Then we had saganaki, always a fun presentation and it was deliciously, salty. For our dinners, I had traditional lamb moussaka. Very good. My husband had the pork chop tomahawk which was juicy and the mashed yams were a lovely, lightly sweet compliment. My son had the stuffed veal which was EXCELLENT. So tender, very flavorful with a great char on the outside. We were so stuffed that we skipped dessert. Two Malbec bottles later topped off the meal. Definitely eat here!
Service was slow, food just ok, prices high. Tried it on a recommendation, will pass in future.
Service was outstanding. Attentive, organized, helpful. Food was delish. Some of the best execution I've experienced, with some of the best ingredients I've eaten. The ambience is beautiful, truly Mediterranean. Excellent restaurant for many occasions, me I went on two highly enjoyable dates there.
We will definitely be back for the great food and service!
Food and service are always excellent here, but this time they treated my husband like a king for his birthday! There was only one table available for 2 when we walked in, but we asked to sit in the (closed) back room instead because that table was right between 2 families with lots of small kids, and they accommodated us with no problem at all. Great evening!
The food was all delicious, we just got the feta dip and an entree each and it was plenty. The lamb entree was delicious. The lamb was well cooked, the seasoning on it wasn’t anything very interesting but the side it was paired with was great; it reminded me of a Greek dish cash spanokorizo but with orzo instead of rice.
it was everything we wanted and was only dispponinted when I requested a birthday celebtration dinner and no candle on dessert.
They comped are dessert because we had cold food.
The food there is very good and creative. The service, from the disorganized confused hostesses to the incompetent waiter it was shocking how bad it was. For example, the maitre d' presented specials that were changed the day before and the waiter did not know it either When the waiter brought out tow of the specials we ordered he tried to pass them off as something different and claimed that no-one knew that the chef changed the specials. We ordered a small plate of past for a child to be brought out first and the waiter forgot the order completely. I may return but there are many other choices in Mammoth I would try first.
Best restaurant in Mammoth.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Jimmy’s Taverna! The food was very delicious and flavorful with a wide variety of choices and unique preparation. The waiter and sommelier very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The wine list is quite extensive. We will definitely enjoy a meal here whenever we are in Mammoth!
Great food and great vibes!
It was delicious, fun. The waiter Ryan was awesome. We did celebrate my bday but would go for any reason. Loved it and we will be back.
Superb dinner, wonderful ambiance. We all found our meals to be exceptional. Would definitely eat here again!
We went to Jimmy's on Christmas night while skiing up in Mammoth. The staff was very friendly but clearly overwhelmed and disjointed. The flaming cheese dish was a great starter for the table, however our main courses came out cold and one person in our party found a large piece of plastic bag IN HIS DISH. I'm sure it might be a better experience on a normal, less crowded night. However, finding a large corner of a plastic bag in the food pretty much ensures we won't be back next time we are up in Mammoth.
great service from Tony the bartender (great drinks) and Chip the sommelier. Both made for a wonderful evening.
We were the only people at a table at this restaurant. Everyone else was at the bar. We had a nice server however the food and drinks were nothing to write home about. I ordered a Grey Goose Club Soda and a Lime. A simple drink however it came with absolutely no alcohol. I sent it back and needless to say did not order a replacement. My husband, daughter and Grandson all ordered the Pork dinner. It was supposed to come with rainbow carrots. When the meal was brought to us, my husband asked where the carrots were. The waiter said he would have to check. He came back and said they were out of carrots. No replacement, no discount just no carrots that were sold with the meal. We will not return to this restaurant and do not recommend them.
Our server was very friendly, prompt but didn’t rush us
All good! Wine list is impeccable !
Not impressed. Small, cute portions, not flavorful at all. Not what to expect for good to excellent Greek food. Pricey.
Dinner was lovely.....service was VERY SLOW...after 45 minutes, we still didn't have our drinks...then someone came over and explained 2 people had called out sick tonight....the manager came by and comped the first round of drinks which was a great gesture...food was great..
Server was slow to get to us. Music was loud and awful. Food (Tasmanian Trout) was superb.
Excellent place. Not cheap, but worth it. Generous portions excellently prepared. Really enjoyed the mixed olive (essentially a tapenade) starter. The "traditional" Greek salad was very good, but really enough for two. But I ate it all. Very nice ambience. Our server Ryan is a standout.
Capped off a week of hiking in Eastern Sierra with our anniversary dinner at Jimmy’s Taverna. Our third time eating here, which is noteworthy as we live in SF Bay Area. Excellent Greek food, service, wines by glass. The dips with pita are a must, as is the spanakopita. Terrific salads, nice entrees if you’re still hungry, and of course, the baklava....
Great service and friendly staff. Everything stared out well with a tasteful wine and starters (dipping sauce and pita bread).
When the food comes in though everything changed. At the price point Jimmy’s charge you don’t expect the risotto to be over cooked or the tomato-spinach ragout to be over cooked and completely taste less. The lamb meat was ok but that was about it.
Won’t go back here since there are better option at the same price ranger or lower, much lower.
Excellent food and wine list. Sommelier was very helpful!
This is our go to place every time we visit Mammoth. The food is exceptional and so is the service. Always an amazing dining experience for us!!
