Jimmy's Famous Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Once again, our visit to Jimmy's was wonderful. It means a LOT to have EVERY employee that you encounter go the extra mile to be polite and acknowledge your patronage. Shyla was a fabulous server. She was hospitable, knowledgeable about the menu, and timely with her service.
Excellent variety of seafood and varied combinations. Great taste with medium and large sized servings. Loved the variety of taste in the seafood combination and my wife's order which had fried shrimp, cold shrimp, oysters, crab cake, and other stuff, on a bun...and she had the smaller version.
Our group of 6 were here for anniversary. The service was slow and waitress was forgetful. The scallops entree were burnt. The appetizer my sister got was amazing. My appetizer the kitchen forgot to prepare. The garlic crabs my brother in law shared with me was great. No nutcracker for crabs were offered. 1 drink was made perfect another drink was straight whiskey. Would try other seafood places in area before returning here.
First of all, Necie was an excellent server! We brought friends who live in Florida and wanted Maryland crab cakes. They said Florida crab cakes are a little crab and a lot of bread. We guaranteed them that they’d love your crab cakes and they did. We enjoyed every single thing we ordered!!! The only negative is how terribly loud the restaurant is. It’s hard to carry on a conversation.
This was my wife and I second trip to Jimmy's after watching on Food Network. The food is great however the service is very unsatisfactory on both occasions. Back in October the server had little serving experience and she did not make any suggestions. This past Saturday however was much worse. Waited 55 minutes for our food and the server failed to inform his manager the food took so long. I find it unacceptable to add gratuity for a party of two even though it was restaurant week. We also informed our server to have our desserts to go when our order was taken. We had to ask for bread and my wife asked for a straw and the server failed to bring in a timely manner despite him walking back to his other tables which had parties of 6 there. although we got our meal discounted but the server lost out on his tip because of his lack of urgency and communicating to his manager. Also got the impression that he did not provide service because he knew gratuity would be added. If we come back it would be for carry out.
We’ve come 4 times prior and it’s always been perfection. They’ve changed the crab dip recipe- it’s a gallon of cream cheese and VERY little crab mean. Got the surf and turf - lobster tail was ridiculously over cooked. Only saving grace was out amazing wait staff. Please by all means get the crab together! Not ok!
I just want to share OUR EXPERIENCE last night being first time in your restaurant. We came to try explore restaurant week at your Seafood place. I am not going to lie, we enjoy our meal ,except our burned sweet potato but its not an issue we experienced. . Its was 2 of us and we were very surprised when we saw added tips for 18% in our bill...( Its more acceptable for party of 6 or more)., I am former restaurant worker and i always tip 20 to 25 % having no problem with that to appreciate servers job. but when restaurant enforcing you to pay and even dont give a customers an option 10, 15 or 18 % i found this little push over. and NOT ACCEPTABLE)
We found this is wrong and this make a negative after taste in out experience." Restaurant week " event created to introduce your place to people with different Ethnics groups and incomes.. Not everyone can afford to tip 18 or 20% doesn't this mean they shouldn't go out.. The way manager, which he is the FACE of your restaurant, talked to us its was disgraceful . I notes many reviews was about this manager is negative. I think you have something to think and work on it make sure next time other people wont be disappointed
"If you disagree with the amount of the tip, you can, of course, enter a NEGATIVE amount on the tip line to reduce or eliminate the amount of tip, and the restaurant would be obligated to honor your final total.
For example, some courts have found that automatic "tipping" is not enforceable. So if a patron chooses not to pay this tip, he can and the restaurant cannot go after him for theft charges. The reason is that tips are by nature voluntary and an add-on for good service, eHow explains.''
The food was good as usual at Jimmy's. Our waitress was very nice, but overwhelmed. We asked for small things that she kept forgetting, or it was brought to the table after some time had passed. But, again, she was nice. My husband went for restaurant week. We both ordered the cream of crab soup which was very good. I ordered the crab cake which was excellent and my husband ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection and very tasty without steak sauce. We ordered crabs which were excellent and meaty. The desert was the cheese cake which was good as well.
I dined here before and ended up getting jumbo crabs corn potatoes and clam casino which was excellent. I wanted to experience restaurant week so We both got the 2 stuffed shrimp which were smaller than expected, salad and stringy asparagus. Not sure if it was due to the restaurant week or not. So, three out of 4 of us got sick. But this wouldn’t prevent me from coming back.
Went for my mother’s birthday and I asked the waitress do they celebrate birthdays like for example like a complimentary slice of cake. She said yes but I had to purchase it from the dessert menu. I agreed to do so as a surprise and they never brought out the surprise so I was a little disappointed after spending $500.
