Jimmy's Charhouse Elk Grove Ratings and Reviews
It was a Wednesday just after the New year so I didn’t expect a crowd and there wasn’t any considering it was below 0 temps.
But the food was okay. I had a chop salad it was average I also had the French onion soup it was good . My wife had the Talapia elmondine it was fair at best and kind of dry with too little sauce. The bread as just okay , my daughter had a veggie/ pasta dish that was ok ,
All in all not a memorable dinning experience , the waiter was nice and the manager was genuine nice .
We needed to remind the waiter a few times to bring the kids drinks. The last drink my husband had was made by someone other than the bartender and the drink was not good. We had two American Express gift cards which they said they couldn’t take. That was quite an inconvenience. Those are generally accepted anywhere. Not such a good experience. I would think twice about visiting again. We spent a lot of money that night we went
We went to Jimmy’s Charhouse early on Saturday. The service was excellent, the manager and our waiter were very attentive and personable. The restaurant has nice ambiance and is comfortable.
The food came out quickly and was very delicious. My daughter had the filet , and I had the pork chops. Both fabulous. I like that you get a lot of food with your meal. We had plenty of leftovers for the next day.
I would definitely go again.
Very much enjoyed the Charhouse. Nine business Execs traveling and we needed some private space and accommodations were perfectly complete upon arrival. Tom the owner came over and checked in with us as well. Steaks were very tender (and we all eat out a lot). I would recommend some wine choices on the higher end as well, selection was mid range and could have sold us more premium wines to complement some very tasty and tender steaks. Thank you Charhouse!
It was ok
I wanted it to be better
And say I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends the foodies
Only one veggie was not expectable I only wanted broccoli could not get 😳
Asked for my potato not to be cut
No such luck
I thought the filet was sad looking the waitress never asked how I wanted it cooked or how are dinner was she was very nice. Just missed a few things
Size of chops could have been more generous
Mushroom appetizer was hot but mushy just
Average not a lot of flavor
We were completely satisfied with the meal the ambiance. Service was great
The hostess was friendly and accommodating. The owner was friendly and made us feel welcome. They had quality entertainment so much fun, listening and dancing to Sam Savage. I will recommend this to friend's and family we surely will be going there again and often.
We had such high hopes for this place given the reviews on Yelp and on other sites we looked at, but honestly, it was pretty disappointing. We were visiting from out of town and looking forward to a fun, large group dinner out.
First, I want to note that the food was really great. Steaks were perfectly cooked to order and my burger w/ steak fries was terrific. We had friends order the spinach artichoke dip, stuffed mushrooms, and calamari as appetizers to share - all were really terrific and went fast. My younger son had the kids menu steak with mashed potatoes and he loved it. No one complained about the food, except, it took us about an hour to get our dinner.
The service was really, really slow and oddly enough the restaurant was 75% empty. Most of the tables were not seated in the main dining room. We had a large group and they put us in a separate area (so we wouldn't disturb others). We liked being able to relax and have the space, but it kind of felt like after our appetizers and drinks came out, the server forgot about us.
When we left, there was no one left in the restaurant dining room, but the bar was hopping. Perhaps we should've left the kids at home and gone straight to the bar.
I was looking for somewhere to go on a date night with my husband. Somewhere with live music. Jimmy's had just the thing. We actually ate at the bar. Chris took care of us all night.
Sam was the entertainment that evening and he had the entire bar (all ages) having a great time. I had the Prime Rib which was juicy and flavorful. I ordered mashed potatoes (loaded!).
It turned out to be the perfect date! I even got to dance with my husband!
Wasn't pleased with the food. My steak was bland. I ordered it medium and it came closer to well done. My husband ordered a steak with horseradish crust and it came out with a square of this so called horseradish that wasn't melted and of course the steak was over done. My son got surf and turf although his steak was well cooked it was also very bland and the lobster tasted extra fishy and was rubbery.
This was our 4th time here. First time was pretty good, but went down hill from there. Probably the last time we go there to eat.
We have been going to this restaurant for years - usually very good but this time we walked out after one hour and fifteen minutes because our DINNER NEVER CAME. The excuse was because of a large party but the restaurant was only half full as it was 8:30 -8:45 pm. I should also mention there is always a new wait staff that does not seem to be trained.
If you like a well poured cocktail and a delicious meal served exactly as ordered this is your spot. The wait staff was attentive but not annoying. We were even offered a refill of our coffee after our bill was paid. In most restaurants, when the bill is paid you never see the wait staff again.
