Month of December gets crazy with parties and such but this took too long, 7:00pm reservation, food did not arrive until 9:00pm. Love going here but will avoid during holiday season. I'll go back because steaks are very good but not in December.

We were in town to celebrate my son's birthday and a friend of his recommended Jimmy V's and also recommended the Prawns as an appetizer. He was spot on -- the Prawns were huge and delicious. Our waiter was Eric and he went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was top notch.

Didn’t love our visit. Music was terrible, old 80s elevator style. Drinks weren’t great. Steak was good. Sides were good. Felt like wedding reception food. Service very slow. Sorry! :(

The night started out with the waiter dumping water on the table and my lap. That turned out to be the hilight of the evening. My wife ordered a filet, and the waiter raved so much about the prime rib being the best he has ever eaten, that I ordered it. The filet came cooked to perfection, but microscopic. It was much closer to a four ounce than the six ounce advertised. The prime rib came with the rib cap removed - the finest tasting portion of the rib, gone. That made it into a cheap rib-eye for the cost of a prime rib. Further, it was ordered medium rare, but the piece that arrived was the dried out end cut, carefully positioned with the end side down. Right after serving us, the waiter was pulled to set up for a banquet in the other room, leaving us without a waiter. In all, it was a very disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful anniversary.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Jimmy V's. Nic, our waiter, was exceptional and attentive. The entrees....swordfish and steak frittes were prepared and cooked perfectly. Presentation was classic. The Jordan wine paired perfectly as well and Nic had his service timing down to the proper level of attention and dining knowledge. Bravo!

The service as well as the food in this restaurant is wonderful though the food is a bit on the pricey side. My husband wanted to order a surf and turf...6oz. filet and a 12oz lobster tail....was told the market price for the lobster alone was $75. He opted for the larger filet. Needless to say we only go to this restaurant on special occasions

We came to Jimmy V's to celebrate our anniversary and to have a special meal. My wife said afterwards that Mike (our server) was very attentive but not to the point that he was intrusive. And she had a small bottle of wine which she was very happy with. The food was very good and tasty. (small filet and prime rib) We will try to return for other special occasions. Thanks.

Service and Atmosphere was excellent and even spojke with the owner as he was in house.
Food was outstanding, Steaks were seasoned and prepared nicely. Quality of the Porterhouse and New York wasn't what we expected.

Came from CA to visit my sister and found this restaurant on line. Special occasion was her birthday, I hadn't seen her in 15 years and I'd never been to No Carolina. The only thing great about the place is the ad about why the restaurant has it's name. The menu says everything is cooked only in peanut oil. Who does that especially with food allergies? The pasta's are seasoned heavy with pepper. The bill was $95 for 3 people and the only alchol consumed was 2 beers. Usually this amount would not be a problem but in this case the entire night was a problem. Next day we found a BJ's a sports bar which is so much better.

Steak should always be good in a steak house, and after four tries at this restaurant, we can honestly tell you to order anything except steak. The seafood is good; the sides and salads are fine. Steak is either merely okay or downright awful. Service is very nice, but we're giving up on this place.

I brought a loved one to Jimmy v's for her birthday. She ordered a rib eye that did not come out cooked as she had ordered it. The chef and server were very apologetic, but it was awkward eating in front of the birthday girl so that my food wouldn't be cold by the time her replacement steak arrived. The mistake was rectified, but no offer for a discount or complimentary anything was offered. That is something a fine dining manager should always teach to his staff.
That being said, the meal was delicious and I will return. One minor mistake should not be held against such a superb restaurant.

The food was very good --as was the service. However, the food is overpriced and the interior is looking worn. They charged $6 per scallop. That's ridiculous.

I didn't realize it was going to be a buffet when we got there, but that would have been alright, if the food was fresh.

There was shrimp cocktail sitting out on a plate, no ice. The main food (sausage, bacon, prime rib) was all cold and old.

At the end, I had planned not to complain, since it was mothers day. But, then I get the bill and there's a 20% tip added on. It was a buffet! And, there was no one working at the carving station, so we had to serve ourselves.

The steaks were excellent and the sides were also very good. Everything was way overpriced however. The cocktails were extremely weak with nearly no alcohol - disappointing especially for the price charged for these. Thanks much.

I was very disappointed in my Fiancé steak he ordered the 15oz Ribeye medium-well. It did not appear to be 15 oz and was well almost burnt.

Our waiters was great!!!!

For what it cost I think I would try somewhere else the next time.

The food and ambiance was good. The service was not terrible, but there were a number of things we had to wait on (did not have silver wear when are main dishes arrived), had to wait 5min~ to begin eating once the food was delivered. Also the temp of the steaks was not real consistent, but was not terrible. The food was good, but for the price, I would hope for a near perfect meal/experience, which we did not have.

Service was attentive and professional. Wine list was a nice surprise. Excellent wines both domestic and international and very fairly priced. Menu options were plentiful with something for everyone. Entrees were creatively composed but slightly pricey. This offers a nice experience when you are celebrating a special occasion.

Jimmy V's is the "anti-Barn" for those weary of the hokey Angus Barn atmosphere and lousy location/access. Food, wine list and service are excellent and the atmosphere is upscale steak house competitive with any steakhouse in any major metropolitan area.

The hostess seemed very overwhelmed with her job. We had 7pm reservations and arrived 15 mins early and she didn't seem to know how to handle our early arrival. We waited, which was fine, however when another couple arrived after us with 7pm reservations as well, she went to seat them before us. Once we were seated and had ordered, one of our side dishes came out after we were almost done with our dinner. Overall, I expected more from this restaurant.

Service was excellent and welcoming. Steaks were excellent. Great ambience and noise level was very good. Nicely aged and cooked to perfection. Appetizer was nice, but not spectacular. Sides were very good. Size of offerings was good. Not huge and overwhelming. Desert and coffees were very satisfying.

The problem with trying to implement the Ruth's Chris model is that your customers are going to compare you to Ruth's Chris, and unfortunately, Jimmy V's fell short. Service was slower than I would have expected, the calamari was fine but needed a separate sauce for dipping, the steaks were good but not as good as Ruth's Chris, the vegetables were not good, and the Hollandaise was just bad. If I had never been to Ruth's Chris, I'm sure I would have enjoyed the meal just fine, but I found myself leaving disappointed and wishing I had just made a reservation at Ruth's Chris.
