The menu on Oren table didn’t match the menu at the restaurant . Very limited menue and good was below average
Loved the food and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to this restaurant.
Service and food was excellent.
Service was great, food was really good! The atmosphere was just ehh
Terrible. Just terrible. Not worth it.
First time coming here and the food was very good. Prices were a little high on some dishes but overall a good value.
Took an hour just to get our food. Waitress never stopped back. We ordered desert and sat waiting so long we had to cancel it and then stand around for the bill. Won’t be going back.
We had dinner before the symphony ! We had an amazing dinner . All
Was just perfect ! The food was delicious and our waiter outstanding and informative !
Chicken wings were great but the two pizzas were just warm and the base was lacking flavor. We were disappointed. It was really busy so maybe that was a factor.
Reservations made, showed up 10 minutes early (but willing to seat at the bar) and was still sat in the wrong seats with a group (40+) of teens next to us! Also, if a restaurant cannot handle a large (40+ people) crowd then don't! Our food was sooooo late (an hour) and cold!
Granted, I have eaten here before and had no issues.
We ordered the tomato bisque as an appetizer which came out with the meal. It was not good at all. Only had a few bites. We ordered the rib eye for our meal. We were seated next to the kitchen and could see our meal sitting there ready for at least 10 minutes. The steak was cool and the asparagus was cold. Waitress never came back to the table until we were ready to go. Worst meal we have had in Downtown Raleigh. JImmy V's Steakhouse in Cary is good though. We have had dinner there several times. Very disappointed with the Raleigh location.
The food was good but parking was not
Our waitress seemed distracted (had to ask for my drink twice and we had to ask for water refills twice) and the bus boy started clearing our table before we were finished (complete with setting his grey bus tray with dirty dishes in it on our table before I could even grab my last drink of water). Felt very rude.
Not a great experience tonight. We decided to go to the restaurant for my birthday. We had been a few years ago and remembered it being a good experience. To start, fifteen minutes after being seated, I had to go to the manager to ask if he could have someone come see us and take our drink orders. To his credit, the manager offered to comp our appetizers due to the delay. Throughout the meal, my wife’s water was only refilled when she flagged someone down and requested a refill. It was just the two of us. My wife’s entree came to the table ten to fifteen minutes before mine. Of course, when mine finally came, half the food was cold. I ordered the ribeye. I like my steak rare. The piece of meat that I received was so thin, there’s no way it could be cooked any less than medium. We decided to order the creme brûlée for dessert. We couldn’t even eat it. I’ve never had chewy creme brûlée until tonight. At that point, our waitress had already run our card. She never came back to the table, and the manager was nowhere to be found. Very disappointing meal.
It took an hour to get our food. The ribeye was 1/2" inch thick and over cooked. My asparagus was undercooked and cold. The Mac and cheese came out lukewarm. The lava cake dessert looked like it was a prepackaged lil Debby snack. Our server was nice.
Went for Valentine’s Day. The food was great but the restaurant was oddly empty for such a big day which was somewhat off-putting. Begs the question, ‘What’s wrong for it to be this empty?’
Food was below average. The ribeye steak I ordered was thin and stingy. I ordered it medium rare and when it arrived it was well done. The replacement steak was rare on the inside and burned on the outside. The macaroni and cheese was runny and tasteless. The meal was a total disappointment!
Very disappointed in service. We had reservations made 2 months ago before going to Kinky Boots. Hostess placed us at table near cold draft from front door even though we asked for one of multiple empty tables away from door. Said they were reserved but no one showed for them while we were there. Waitress was not knowledgeable about several menu and drink items. Waitress was inattentive. Waitress stood at opposite end of restaurant, near kitchen counter, for most of our time. She did not check to see if we wanted desserts. We had to ask hostess to ask her to give us our check. We had to ask manager to take our payment. Worst service I have had anywhere in years. Salad was subpar. Most of Food was “just okay”. Wood-fired oysters were good. Butternut squash gnocchi was good. Basil Hayden on rocks was over-priced.
Good food, friendly service, reasonably priced and all that on Valentines Day when restaurants are super busy. We have tickets to the North Carolina Theater and the location was perfect.
We enjoyed our food, despite the mixed reviews. Good dipping oil and fresh bread to start...and very well made dinner entrees. My sisters wings came about 15 mins AFTER our entrees were delivered (they made the first batch wrong), and didn't attempt to comp us in any way, aside from "we are sorry". Overall the food was good though. A nice place to eat if watching a show.
DO NOT eat at this restaurant. The noise level makes it impossible to talk. They use broken plywood folding tables with a tablecloth thrown over it for tables of six. When ordering wine, you are told they "don't actually have most of them on the list since we share them with banquet." Also, if you want to drink your wine from a wine glass, do not go here. They apparently don't have enough wine glasses so we were told we would need to drink from water glasses. The waiter came by for water once then we never saw him again. To top it off, they charged a 20% service charge for the worst service and experience I have had in some time. Total ripoff. The place is a dump.
We had a huge party and think they accidentally overbooked but they were super accommodating. The steak salad and absolute mules were both amazing!
We have been coming to the All-Star Challenge cheer competition for the last 5 years and have always dined at Jimmy V's on the Saturday night during the competition. It has always been great however, this year was not very impressive. I had a reservation for a party of 9 at 6:45p- upon arriving, I was escorted to my table. From 6:45p until 7:30p, I was never acknowledged- no drink, no appetizer, ect. The restaurant definitely didn't have enough staff. The whole experience was a nightmare. I hope next year we can have a different experience as we have always enjoyed patronizing this establishment.
Everything was overcooked but the server was friendly and entertaining.
Waitress was very friendly. Great place to reflect on the Jimmy Valvano memories, the good times (NCAA championship) and bad times (disease that overcame his life). Being a native of the area I vividly remember the winning shot and the “Never Give Up” speech.
This place was overpriced and service was poor. I would not recommend this place at all!
Everything was great. We had the most pleasant and attentive waiter, Travis. The food was prepared well and presented nicely. We had plenty of time to relax before the show we were headed to afterwards.
The cocktails were also very good.
We will be back. It’s convenient to the theater and enough of a menu selection to please everyone.
Our waitress forgot to put two of our children's orders in, we didn't want to eat in front of them so we waited tp eat until they finally brought their food out. We also pointed out that our other child ordered a child's meal and clearly got an adult portion. The waitress apologized and the manager said they would give the kids who were waiting their meals for free and change the adult meal price to a child's instead. When the check came then only thing that was changed is that they didn't charge us for one kids pizza. It wasn't a busy night at all so we didnt understand why the service was so poor. We felt very disappointed.about the whole expeience.
Food was below average- crab dip was disappointing. Pizza was not good.
Was not informed that a buffet was our only choice unitl 8PM, at which time they offered their full menu. Would have rescheduled. Buffet was boring, cold, and looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Extremely disappointing, will probably never go back.
Food at Christmas buffet was cold.
The food was amazing!
Our waiter, Sammy, made the night! He service was excellent and his witty humor created a fun and enjoyable evening
Food was good atmosphere was loud lots of kids around bar area unusual
Loved this restaurant! The Bartender made us wonderfully chilled Martinis, and we ordered the charcuterie platter of cured meats, cheese, olives, banana peppers, and toasted ciambotta bread, that was simply delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and bought extra toasted bread when we ran out. There was so much food on the plate we just sat, relaxed, and ate as we watched the one of the chefs make homemade wood fired pizza and other delights. Great date night evening out.
Great, fast service and good food
Great experience. Sat at a table in the bar area and had great service. Loved Travis our bartender/waiter. Food was great as well.
The meatball appetizer was very good and filling. Our meals were the pork dish and the chicken ravioli, both also excellent. We loved the vibe and music, mostly 80s. We also enjoyed the beautiful Christmas tree the night before Thanksgiving. Definitely worth going to Jimmy B's for dinner!
We had dinner prior to an 8pm event at the performing arts center. While the menu had sufficient variety, the place just had that hotel-restaurant "blah" to it. Certainly nothing wrong with food, but just not a place I'd consider noteworthy or worth returning to.
Good, but not great. We tried it because we were staying next door
