Great experience. Sat at a table in the bar area and had great service. Loved Travis our bartender/waiter. Food was great as well.
The meatball appetizer was very good and filling. Our meals were the pork dish and the chicken ravioli, both also excellent. We loved the vibe and music, mostly 80s. We also enjoyed the beautiful Christmas tree the night before Thanksgiving. Definitely worth going to Jimmy B's for dinner!
We had dinner prior to an 8pm event at the performing arts center. While the menu had sufficient variety, the place just had that hotel-restaurant "blah" to it. Certainly nothing wrong with food, but just not a place I'd consider noteworthy or worth returning to.
Good, but not great. We tried it because we were staying next door
Had a wonderful first experience at Jimmy V’s! The crab dip is plentiful and enough to share for a table of 4. The calamari was perfect addition. The pizza is just delicious and I loved the thin crust! This was the first of many visits prior to a musical at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. ❤️
Went here during the blue grass festival. i know it was a busy night but this establishment was not. It was not super packed inside - tables open everywhere and it took over 20 minutes to be seated. Waiter took forever - possibly another 20 minute to get our drinks. Two meals were good but two (the gnocchi) were TERRIBLE. Was pretty disappointed in this overall dining experience.
I’ve been there before and liked it. This time we were a party of 5 asking if we could sit outside. We were brought to a fire table (table that seats 10 with a fire pit in the middle). Because it seats 10, we were so spread out we couldn’t talk to each other.
Server brought seafood meal in a bowl filled to the brim with garlic butter/juice. As she was setting down another meal, the juice spilled into our guest’s purse. The server didn’t acknowledge it and when we told her she just said, "oh". We had to ask several times for napkins and a wet cloth to sop up the garlic juice inside her purse. No one helped. No one apologized.
Service was terribly slow. Food was average at best. Drinks were not kept full
Service was great until a larger party came in and we were put on the back burner. Had to ask multiple times for different items. Had been told we would be getting hot fresh bread... by the time it got to us it was cold so was most of our other food. We sent our pizzas back because it was so cold the cheese changed it’s texture. They put those same pizzas back in the oven to warm them up again. My husband and I had been here once before and the service and food was wonderful so we decided to bring my mom and her husband. By the end of the meal we felt bad to have suggested it.
We had a great time, the service and the food was great
I was there w clients and one person order a specific kind of chicken, and rather than ranch seasoning it came back with Thai. When he said it tasted like Thai, the answer was “we ran out of ranch, so we gave you this instead”. I didn’t want to make a thing of it, but this is frankly not acceptable.
Overall, my experience was okay. I was seated right away, and the waitress was rather prompt in greeting my table. However, upon her greeting, I was asked if I was ready to order, so I felt a little rushed; seeing that I was sitting for about a minute. Food was great. I had finished my first glass of wine, and it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to ask if I'd like another, which wouldn't normally be a problem, but I was one of 2 tables in the restaurant. At the end, I asked for a dessert menu. 15-20 minutes had passed, and she asked if I'd like to order a dessert. I would have been more understanding if I wasn't the only table at this point. To me, it was just a lack of focus, as she was chatting at the host stand for several minutes. She did offer to being a dessert on the house, because it took so long for her to get back to me, which was a nice gesture. I'd be willing to try the restaurant again.
Due to a street festival, they had a VERY limited menu. Was not communicated when the reservation was made.
Our waiter, Tyler was wonderful. The food was excellent. Would go back for sure!
We found Jimmy V's' on google when we searched for "restaurants near me". We were delighted by the atmosphere, welcoming and accommodating staff, and the delicious food. Rick was a great waiter and paid very close attention to our somewhat quirky requests. Try the roasted chicken ravioli, you won't be "dishappointed". We will be back and plan to bring friends next time.
Came for my moms birthday. Sat on the patio. Server kept apologizing as if she knew she was given us bad service. 3 out of 4 of us had the ribeye and all 3 were overcooked. Ordered med and med rare and all came out med well to well. My mom was severed her food with out having silverware and she asked for steak sauce when the food came along with silverware. My wife had to get up and go get her silverware. The server came out 5-8 minutes later with the steak sauce. By then my moms food was getting cold. Later I went to the bathroom and saw our server joking around and having fun in the back the house like she didn't have any responsibility at that moment. We had to continually as for refills as well. Jimmy V's is allowing its staff to poorly represent them. Being someone who worked in the service industry for 7 years I was disgusted with my experience. I had to apologize to my mother for such a poor birthday dinner.
Service was slow. They appeared to be understaffed, especially with ComiCon weekend. Food was average.
One hour to get served. Waitress was absolutely terrible.
Horrible. Overpriced. Food was not good and service was terrible. I got my check when we were halfway done and didn’t ask if we needed anything. Save your money!
Great dinner out before the show.
The food was great!!!!
Good food, knowledgeable and helpful waiter who provided good, attentive service and took care of all ur needs.
It was 1.5 hours to get are food after we ordered.
Food, environment and wait staff were great (Tyler was super) . Kitchen was VERY slow. As we left there were only 2 people in the kitchen area cooking.
We had a wonderful time! Food was delicious and staff was super friendly and efficient. The steak on my salad was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful smoky flavor. Husband had spaghetti and meatballs and throughly enjoyed it. Had breakfast there the next morning and it had so many choices, we didn’t need lunch. However, we did have a very late lunch snack where the Mac and Cheese was outstanding.
Out of many items on menu, over priced and a poorly chosen menu blend
Food was average at best because nothing we ordered was overly good. The noise level was awful as we needed to shout to one another during our meal.
We had a dinner here after my son's graduation. It was very nice, service was great!
Great food but the service was terrible. Made a complaint while there but not much was done about it. Probably won’t return.
Excellent as always
Our service started out slow, but ended up being decent. Food was ok, not as good as I remember when I went before.
We had a 730PM reservation and asked if it was at all possible to be seated at 645PM due to our event ending earlier than expected. Despite more than 20 open tables, inside and outside, the Hostess said she could not seat us earlier.
We returned for our reservation time and was not greeted for close to three minutes, and was hastily seated by the hostess that wouldn’t/didn’t even look at us.
Service from our server was decent; nice kid. The underside of our pizza wasn’t cooked as much as I would like or have come to expect from a wood fired pizza oven. Wings and our shrimp appetizer were fantastic.
We’d come back again.
This is a repeat visit. Our first visit was amazing. I ordered the seafood bake. The lobster was so light and buttery. The calamari was grand and the service was impeccable. We visited again on Saturday and it was a less than desirable experience. We had a reservation and had to an additional wait of 20 minutes to be seated because the hostess was new. I ordered the seafood bake again this time. The meal was different and it was not indicated on the menu. The lobster is now stuffed , I was not a fan of the stuffing, and was over cooked. The shrimp was good. The service was relatively slow. They weren’t crowd and we waited about 35 minutes get our entrees. We will probably return but we were very disappointed with this experience.
The venue is noisy and cavernous adjacent to a Sheraton hotel. Not a place for locals. Virtually no ambience. The calamari was over fried, resulting in chewy, dry bites. The pizza had very little flavor and, again, was very dry. We’ve eaten at Jimmy V’s steakhouse and it’s amazing - refined and elegant with wonderful food. Skip this tourist trap.
I’ll preface this by saying this place is normally great. We raved about it to my wife’s mother and took her there as a Mother’s Day gift. I honestly don’t know what happened but here are the. Cliff notes:
1.) the server we got didn’t know the details of the brunch menu (I asked if it was a brunch buffet was told quickly yes we ordered it and then found out that it was partial and then we were on the hook for a buffet pricing)
2.) the kids buffet had 6 things listed and only 3 were out when I asked them about it they told me no, I showed them the menu, and then they spent the next 20 cooking the things I told them were on their menu. (And we were there at 11:45 so it’s not like we were the first ones there).
3.) our first drinks came 20 minutes after ordering, asking about them a second and thirds time and only half the restaurant was full so it wasn’t busy
4.) after the beginning of our meal, while waiting for our entrees, our complete table was bussed including silverware plates etc. We were given our food w no way to actually eat it.
5.) multiple times throughout the meal our server was visible but impossible to get her attention. Every request was with an added delay of 15 minutes.
Again disappointing considering my wife and I have eaten there a lot over the years and on Mother’s Day for her mom that was her moms first experience of the place.
Came for a special occasion (NCSU graduation) based on the reputation of restaurant. Ordered 3 ribeye steaks and all 3 were undercooked and cold. The quality of the steaks were disappointing as well. Would not come back.
It was a date night with my fiancé and we got there and took a while to be seated. There were clearly tables open for us to sit but to hostess to seat us. Our waiter was extremely friendly and good. We had the Jimmys V pizza, it was tasty but a little to oily for me. Overall great place !
We visited on a recent Friday evening for dinner. Seating outside was pleasant and offered a nice view of the plaza area. Our entrée choices, the lamb ragu and stuffed ravioli, were well-prepared but not exceptional. Side items, such as vegetables or salad, are ala carte. Overall, Jimmy V's came across as routine Italian fare with pricing set by its location and not for the value of the meals.
The wings were not cooked all the way through!! Sprite machine down, drinks were not mixed well at all!! Just a horrible overall experience!!
I selected Jimmy V's for our Easter brunch. It was buffet style, but the food quality wasn't particularly good. Limited selections and food had been 'on the line' for far too long. Our server was very personable and professional, but the ambiance was certainly lacking. Barn wood and 2X4's exposed in plain view. And the music selection defied logic. We did not have drinks, but our bill for two was $100. No, I can't recommend the restaurant unfortunately despite high hopes that we might have been visiting a new dining establishment to add to our list of Raleigh favorites.
