Jimmy the Greek Taverna Ratings and Reviews
After hearing good things about the restaurant, iwe found it very disappointing. Service was lackadaisical; they were out of many items. They seemed to be peeved we were there. The food was on par with a Greek restaurant in a shopping mall but at many times the cost. Putting lemon juice on everything doesn’t make it Greek food. Much too expensive for what we got.
Small unappetizing salad, not enough ingredients,
Entree small, still hungry
Food temperature too cold. Then reheated and served while others at table were finishing eating.
Server cleared dishes just as I was beginning reheated meal making me feel rushed
Birthday cake desert was served while I was eating
Again very rushed
AWFUL! We were ignored by wait staff. Others who were seated after us were attended to before us. When we called someone over he said he wasn't a waiter even as he was bringing out food and clearing tables and couldn't take our drink or dinner order so we waited a bit longer. A waitress finally came to take our order. It was getting late and we lost our desire for a glass of wine and ordered our dinner. We waited for over 40 minutes for our dinners to arrive. We had allowed ample time for a leisurely dinner pre-theater and now had to eat quickly with no time (or desire at this point) for coffee. My chicken kabob was dry and the rice cold. We had to ask for bread and a basket with pita was thrown down by a passing waitress. Food was terrible and service even worse. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.
The restaurant is a good all around Greek restaurant. Some of the dishes were good while others were not. Lamb was a bit tough and over cooked for what we ordered. The vegetables were also over cooked. Salad and octopus were good. Service was friendly and attentive. Probably makes for a great lunch restaurant.
this seems to be a local hot spot for the over 75 crowd. The food was fine but I felt like I was eating in dining room of a retirement home. I felt sorry for the hardworking staff who had to deal with a crowd of hard to please people. We couldn't enjoy the food
Delicious Greek food in a fun ambiance.. the lemon soup was tasty.. lamb chops were perfectly cooked and accompanied by yummy potatoes and green beans.
The dessert was a crunchy phyllo filled with a creamy filling . Thank you to our waiter who gave us great service..
Loved this restaurant and would return..
My parents are regulars and I'm always thrilled to eat at Jimmy's when I'm in town. They service is always impeccable , the food is delish and you can't beat the value. The fact that we dined on a Monday and the place was packed is a great indicator of how good it is!
Made a reservation on Open Table, but waited 20-25 minutes to be seated. Once seated waited a half hour for someone to take our order. Waiter just kept mumbling to himself and looking at us, but never stopped to take the order. The wonderful manager finally took our order and it came out perfectly. Food is always delicious and although we've had to wait sometimes for service, (we go often, but never without a reservation) it's usually manageable. We love going to Jimmy's because the food is great, the service staff is usually terrific and professional and it's a very comfortable place.
This was our first visit. Very very busy place because prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive. Our reservation was not on their list but we did get an outside table without waiting...only looks onto a parking lot but preferred to inside. No wine list although an acceptable bottle was brought. We enjoyed the included salad and the fresh pita. Dinners were salmon, grilled with a light kemon sauce, and lamb chops cooked perfectly medium rare.
I go to Jimmy the Greek often with friends or just with my husband The service is always good. The food is also consistent and good. I always have fish which is really well prepared. If you want elegant dining and ambiance. This would not be it. If you have grandkids no worries this is a good choice
