Outstanding dining experience and great attentive staff! Highly recommend and I’d back in Nashville, will be back!
The service was great - all employees were pleasant and attentive. The twice baked potato was delicious! The steaks were cooked well, and the atmosphere was nice. It did need some light background music, however - just something to break up voices/conversation. Otherwise, we had a nice dinner.
It was wonderful. Burger was perfect and onion rings and the cowboy ribeye melted in your mouth
Disappointing experience—filet was bland (and expensive) & the server had an attitude. He was arrogant at best, even gave me a look when I asked a question. He would also disappear for large segments of time. If it hadn’t been for the large party automatic gratuity added to each check within the group, we wouldn’t have left him a cent.
Love the atmosphere....this time we had a table upstairs (the air was a little stuffy). It was great for a date night. I got the petite filet (no flavor) and my husband got the bootleggers ribeye and he said it was phenomenal. I will say the blackberry cobbler was excellent. Our server didn’t engage with us much but we didn’t want for anything. The bottled beer my husband got wasn’t very cold. It was a great night however. If it wasn’t for the gift card we received as a gift we would probably try another restaurant next time but I am sure we will be back.
Enjoyed our evening. Shrimp cocktail was great with outstanding cocktail sauce. Filet was tender and cooked exacted right. Sea Bass was well prepared. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Best steak in Nashville! We loved the warm vibe of this historic restaurant in Nashville!
Food was outstanding and the service was superb
Only complaint would be the hostess as we arrived early rather brusque about needing to wait until our assigned time
Food was very good. Place was awesome. Just loud in the bar area
Service was very good. Tiny corncakes (hoecakes) first, were great I had the Faucon Salad while my date had the house salad. Both very fresh with a delicious house-made bleu cheese dressing. The Calamari was easily the best either of us have ever had. Crispy, tender with a perfect marinara sauce. Entrees-Filet mignon/ mixed grill (half filet with blackened salmon and shrimp) . We shared the creamed spinach. We will likely make it a once/yr. treat due to cost but we loved it!
Our server was outstanding, but the food was mediocre at best. Calamari was rubbery and unseasoned, steaks were overcooked and unseasoned, lobster ….rubbery. For what we paid this was truly disappointing, especially given this was our first time. We have eaten in restaurants all over the country/world and this just didn't measure up! Again, great service but the food needs to be improved.
Over all enjoyable evening.
The Chilean seabass was good but it could have been done better. Should have gotten the steak instead ;)
We're from out of town and really enjoyed our meal. The manager stopped by and was very Friendly, told us the history and it was very interesting, he noticed our wobbly table, which we'd already put sugar packets under the table but he fixed it further, I jokingly told him the squeaky door needed some WD40, about 15 min later he came said he oiled it!
The au gratin potatoes were my favorite, and the blackberry cobbler.
Everything was amazing! We were celebrating our 21st anniversary and were not disappointed. The food was so delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy. We loved it!
Very enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere was 'formal' without being 'stiff'. The food was excellent and the steaks cooked to perfection. The server was attentive and had a pleasing disposition. Highly recommend!!!
I had a group of friends in from out of town that I took to Jimmy Kelly’s. We had a wonderful time. The food and service were both excellent. It is a great local place!
Our favorite restaurant! The food and service is always wonderful!
We arrived a little late and did wait 15 or so. Talked to Mike Kelly far a few minutes and were seated. Jeff was in great form and led us through the menu. Vickie had steak & lobster and I had blue cheese filled filet. Excellent martini and fine glass of wine and it was salad time, couldn't have been more fresh and tasty. Entrée came and I really do not believe I have been served a steak that came even close. Best in town.
Jimmy Kelly's is an enigma in Nashville. They have not changed their limited menu in over 20 years and somehow they have survived the restaurant scene. The service at the bar was very slow. During their "renovation" they really should have done something with the bar but they did not. The server once we moved to the dining room was outstanding. The food there is very simple and good but overpriced. But for their Christmas gift card special, I would not go there.
The waiter was knowledgeable and agreeable for any extra that we requested. Food was outstanding, as usual. Enjoyable!!
Old style steak house Food was fabulous. Loved the corn cakes with butter. Everything was spectacular and would return if I visit Nashville again. I would assume the waiters have worked for this restaurant many years.
The seating was fine although we had trouble with a table leg that our waiter had to fix to keep the table level. The building was beautiful and the location wasn’t hard getting to.
Food was amazing, proteins perfectly cooked, the mustard based bleu cheese dressing was outstanding. But what really made the experience was the entire staff's attentiveness to our experience. They all work together as one team, to ensure your experience is a positive one.
my service was great i will return again ,Claude thank you for making my evening special
Jimmy Kelly's is a wonderful place. The food is excellent and the service is the best I have ever experienced. They actually care about their customers. In today's world that is rare. Please try them for yourselves. This place is very special.
Excellent food and atmosphere. All our steaks were outstanding.
The service and food at Jimmy Kelly's is always outstanding. Mgrs Mike and Burt each came to our table to ensure everything to our satisfaction. We often request to be served by our longtime waiter, "King Arthur" but this evening our waiter was Scott. True to the standards at Jimmy Kelly's, Scott was outstanding!
We love dining at Jimmy Kelley’s, the food and atmosphere is always wonderful!! It’s a great Nashville tradition to dine at Jimmy Kelley’s and our family loves it.
This is my second dining experience at Jimmy Kelly's. I was so let down from beginning to end with this visit. To begin, we were not greeted by our waiter for several minutes and when he did greet us, he was not prepared to take any order from us, just brought us a water. While he did apologize for the delay, it seemed that everyone around us was more important to him. Once we did order our food, the salads had way too much dressing, but the lettuce was delicious and tasted clean and crisp. We then waited at least 30 minutes for our main entree to show. I ordered the filet and jumbo gulf shrimp. What I received was a flavorless filet and two dry, shriveled up, flavorless shrimp. The last time I came, I was amazed at the true "jumbo" shrimp...not this time.
I was very disappointed in our service and our meal. This was supposed to be a celebration of 25 years of friendship for my friend and I, the meal was lackluster, at best and nothing to celebrate.
We were honored to be served by a gentleman that has worked there for 37 years. He made the night very enjoyable and was knowledgeable of the entire menu.
They were short staffed and it seemed to really slow the service at the start. Midway through the meal things seemed to be on track.
We had an awesome experience at Jimmy Kelly’s. The food was great and service even better!
We’ve been going to Jimmy Kelly’s for over 40 years even though we live about 50 miles away. Each visit has always been a pleasant experience for our special events.
Thanks JK for good food, good service, and a good time!
Our waiter Jimmy was great and made our dinner enjoyable.
Our waiter was excellent, he was courteous, prompt and had a good personality
This was a nice steakhouse located in an old two story house. Service is impeccable, from the bar to the restaurant. Filets were perfectly cooked. I couldn’t expect anything else from a steakhouse. Bravo!
Low quality food with no flavor. Very disappointed
We Celebrated my 57 year birthday at Jimmy Kelly. The food and atmosphere where amazing. We ordered appetizers, salads, main entrée and dessert with coffee for six people. The total cost came in around $500 for the entire event. Sure, that is a bit high but the experience and quilty made it a great value.
Everything was great except the Faucon salad. All of them were soggy. It was like the lettuce was not dried.
The service was great but the food left you wanting. I had ordered medium rare rack of lamb & was disappointed in the result plus there was foil on a couple of the bones. The 8 oz. filet my husband ate was good but not the best. My son-in-law had the extra cut filet & said it was very good.
The waiter talked him into getting the filet bone in - that added unnecessary cost to the meal. The
au gratin potatoes were more cheese than potato and the mushrooms & onions were mostly onions. For our dessert we requested creme brule. The caramelized crust was perfect but the custard lack the creaminess expected. The blackberry cobbler was very good. Our wine selection was excellent and unreasonably priced.
The cost of the adequate but not excellent meal was not worth the price of the dinners. We will not go back.
