Been eating at Jimmy Kelly's for years and years. Still one of our favorites !
Good food, comfortable place. All the waiters are personable, informed, and professional. They are a bonus.
Great good, great service, great people and the manager is awesome!
Delicious steak and sides. Fantastic location; across the street from the Parthenon if you're looking to enjoy a nice night with that special someone
Service is very attentive. Great hospitality all the way around. We love the corn cakes. They are addictive!
We've been going to Jimmy Kelly's for years. It's one of the few remaining truly southern restaurants. I appreciate the attention we get from the servers and especially love the tablecloths! This time, we had a nice private table---perfect for our anniversary celebration. We go with a group every year at Christmas and are able to enjoy one of the private dining rooms.
Wonderful food and service. Romantic, charming decor. Very knowledgeable wait staff. Very classy.
Excellent food! Excellent service!
Proud it is a tradition in my hometown!
Two out of seven steaks cooked to wrong temperature.
Back in the day-style dining can still be experienced today at Jimmy Kelly's. From exceptional ambiance in a southern mansion, outstanding white-coated service in one of the many dining rooms, to vintage steakhouse offerings, and a steak knive you need to use with both hands for the weight alone, please enjoy this dining experience.
Food was great
Waiter was apathetic. His name was Luke
Jimmy Kelly's is the BEST steakhouse in Nashville, TN. The management and staff together ensuring your dining experience is awesome. The food is delicious without a ton of spices. My favorite server is Arthur. If you have a special occassion, ask for Arthur. You will surely get a great serenade from him.
Great and delicious Food. Love to eat at Jimmy Kelly’s
Very disappointing. Have been coming to Jimmy Kelly's all my life but this last time my husband had to send steak back twice and finally just gave up and requested that it be removed from the bill. JK is great for ambiance and the history and memories but lately the food quality has suffered. Makes me very sad!
Could not imagine a better steak. The blue cheese stuffed fillet is a must. If your a newbie, give this a try, you will not be disappointed. The soft atmosphere of Jimmie Kelly's makes this a great place for a comforting and relaxing meal with friends and family.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this notable Nashville restaurant. Food , service and ambiance were top notch and exceeded expectations. If you like steak , this is your place.
Restaurant was recommended by business associate. Service was less than spectacular, food average, not as special as some higher end chain steak houses. Manager tried to smooth out service issues. Love to go to local places when out of town, but will skip this one when back in Nashville.
Arthur was our server and he was awesome. Blackberry cobbler was unbelievable.
Great place, we enjoyed everything about this experience and will likely revisit on our next visit to Nashville
Steaks are delicious- cooked perfectly. Side dishes and salad was very good. Great desserts.
We had a great time and would recommend to anyone for any occasion. Great staff and the manager made us feel at home.
The food is overpriced and honestly I think outback or Logans has a better steak. The service was exceptional I must say!
Awesome experience!!! Food was excellent and service was superior!!!!
Our family always celebrates our special occasions with Jimmy Kelly's! Always a perfect dining experience!
This restaurant is in a beautiful older home and is elegantly decorated. Server was very good in explaining menu items and making recommendations. The appetizers were delicious but neither filet mignon was prepared correctly. Both were supposed to be medium...mine was medium rare; my husband’s was rare. We do not send food back. Crepe brûlée was watery and lumpy; top was black!
This was my first time here. It was recommended by some friends. The atmosphere is great. The service was excellent. I ordered there special 20oz bone in ribeye. It was tender enough, but had very little flavor. I wished it would have been served warmer. The salad was good but not great. I also ordered the blackberry cobbler. Excellent. I would dine here again.
Never a bad meal . Appetizers are the best. Service is outstanding !
Great service, very attentive and courteous. Steaks were praised by all six people in my party, well prepared and quality good. Have been a customer at least once a year since 1966. Can only remember a couple of instances of either poor service or poor quality. Numerous family celebrations over the years, all with great success.
Jimmy Kelly's service staff makes whatever you order a amazing experience. Service is the essence of dining and enjoying your evening. The steaks were the perfect cuts and cooked perfectly. Treat yourself and your friends with a feeling of enjoyment and confiviality.
Food was excellent; staff was exceptional; GREAT EXPERIENCE
We went to Jimmy Kelly's to celebrate our birthday's and were looking forward to a great meal. Sadly, we were both disappointed in the quality and taste of our food. The salads were delicious and honestly those and the corn cakes were the best part of the meal. One of the sides, the onion rings, were tasty, albeit burned on the bottom side of a few. The filets had a 'liver' taste and not at all the quality we expected from this historic restaurant. IF we go back we will definitely choose something other than steak.
While my wife and I enjoy the latest trends coming to Nashville’s culinary scene as much as anyone, there’s something remarkably comforting about the timeless elegance, impeccable service and fabulously prepared red meat at Jimmy Kelly’s. The small dining rooms allow the restaurant to be busy, without it being loud. Service was efficient and attentive without being overbearing. Tables were efficiently turned, but we were encouraged to “stay as long as you want.” Sorry vegans, not a good choice for you, but if Red meat’s your choice, this is the place for old school excellence. Our only complaint... really, 3 plates of corn cakes? Don’t you think that’s a bit much for someone with a 20 ounce ribeye on the way???
Everything was excellent, especially the waiter Marcus, he did a fantastic job.
Great food and service. The servers are top notch. The steaks are great.
We had the same seat w the San waiter Robert! He is so great! Foo and atmosphere amazing!
Crab cakes were delicious but my ribeye was only fair at best. My husband got the sampler. His filet and shrimp were good but the salmon was only fair at best.
Always enjoy the filet
And corn cakes!! Arthur is the best waiter!! We will be back soon!!
Always enjoy Jimmy Kelly's
Steak was perfect and so were the drinks! John was an excellent waiter and was very attentive. We’ll be back!
Disappointing. The presentation of the food was reminiscent of a road-side steak house, not a fine dining establishment.
The salads were bland the sides were scooped and more than likely microwaved. The potato was still in the foil, there had been no salt or seasoning used to bake it. Outback has better baked spuds., for goodness sake.
The sirloin seemed cooked properly but with zero marination- no ground black pepper was offered - there was only table salt and ground pepper at the table that you had to shake out very very hard to get any result. Made me wonder how often they were refilled. I felt like I wanted to apologize to the cow for the chef having zero respect for the cut.
We had been given a $100 gift card and took a 3rd person with us for a birthday. We did the right thing and gave a full tip to the waiter who just had to deal with whatever the kitchen gave him but holy cow, if I had to pay $180 full price for this meal I’d have been livid.
Want a great streak? There are So Many other local places to go. I hope this historic building wakes up and finds a new chef that can quickly give attention to presentation and flavor part of the experience. Otherwise, we make see this long time establishment disappear in the Nashville restaurant boom.
