I have sent several friends and they have liked the food. But several commented that they were offered red wine, but wanted white wine and were refused the option. I think the policy should be updated to include a complimentary glass of wine: red or white. Patrons are quite put off by being told "no", and it puts the staff in a tight spot.
Went for Sunday Brunch on New Year's Eve morning. They sat us right at 10am and all the food stations and staff were ready. Bottomless mimosas are a big selling point. Our first server could have been more attentive in the beginning with this, but the ending servers made up for it in the end. The food was great and the staff was knowledgeable about ingredients and allergy concerns. Great place to eat brunch with friends. We will definitely be back again!
My wife and I reserved Jill’s for our fifth anniversary and we were not disappointed. The wine list was ample, the menu diverse and interesting. Our service (Martha) was superior; she not only invested time regarding menu choices and options but took a keen interest in our food and wine requests. Her knowledge of pairing was solid and recommendations spot on. We will go back (and soon). We totally enjoyed the food and the experience.
Very disappointed Jill's no longer has the Thanksgiving dinner buffet. The prix fixe, 5-course meal and very pregnant pauses between courses were NOT worth $75 per person. Quality should have been great, and at the very least, the entrees should have been hot. Won't be back for prix fixe but may come back for the Thanksgiving lunch buffet.
Jill's used to be "fine dining," but they have made a dramatic change to enter the overcrowded Boulder bistro scene. In my opinion, this was a profound mistake and a great loss for the Boulder dining universe. Instead of quiet elegance, the restaurant now has raucous music and a plain setting without the tablecloths and crystal of old. The menu also has been "dumbed down" and no longer is centered around fine cuisine.
I no longer will frequent this restaurant. There are other bistros in Boulder that are as good as the current Jill's at a much more reasonable price.
We celebrated our birthdays and anniversary at Jill's and were not disappointed. Service was beyond our expectations from the moment we CALLED. Enzo was our server and every person on staff was professional, courteous, and warm. The menu leaves you knowing you have to come back because everything looks good! The wine selection is very good with a nice range of price options. We will definitely be returning to Jill's.
We visited Jill’s for First Bite Boulder. The food was delicious, choices adequate, and portions good for the fixed price event. Our main dissatisfaction was with the overly attentive waitstaff. They visited our table, asking if everyone was ok, with a frequency that was intrusive. Checking in is great but this became an irritant to the point where it discourages me to return to this restaurant.
My husband and I went to Jill's to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. They started us out with complimentary champagne and treated us like royalty! The food was excellent and met our vegetarian and gluten-free preferences. It was a very special evening.
Superb in every way, and vegan-friendly.
We had a spectacular meal while sticking to the vegan and vegetarian options. The walnut salad was one of the best salads ever. The entrees were delicious and inventive, as well as plentiful. Cauliflower risotto, pasta with garlic and tomatoes, coconut curry with tofu were all wonderful. The service was noteworthy for being gracious and attentive, never a false note. All in an elegant, beautiful and spacious setting.
What a pleasant surprise and total treat our evening here was! It was an all-vegan menu night, and the food was varied, tasty and beautifully presented. I questioned the vegan butter, and the server brought out the container to show me the ingredients.
We were offered a glass of complimentary wine with our pre-fixe menu, and the staff was gracious.
I already have plans to go back for Sunday brunch!
The service and food were outstanding..... however, the noise level was horrendous. The acoustics are quite bad. It was hard to hear our own conversation at our table - the noise level made it feel like we were eating in a sports bar (minus the televisions). The idea that the noise level is listed as "energetic" as a selection for the review doesn't seem accurate.... it made it so that I would have to think twice before I would eat at Jill's in the future.
Was disappointed thst it was no longer a formal restaurant. It was my husbands birthday and he liked Jill's for its formal atmosphere and good food. The food was ok--beef stroganoff was quite salty he said. Noise level too loud and lighting s bit low
New decor was warm and seasonal.
We have 're-discovered' Jill's and have been back twice over the last month or so. The menu is really good (lobster carbonara and beet salads have been excellent), and for my 'escargot monster' daughter, this is now one of our Boulder regular haunts. The service is outstanding, and the ambiance is definitely more fun on weekend nights when bands are playing in the foyer. We normally do not like 'hotel restaurants' but we certainly will make an exception for Jill's!
Food is very good at the brunch with a fair amount of seafood. Excellent house smoked salmon and paella. Sweet rolls made into french toast a calorie taste treat. King crab legs were poorly stocked at the second sitting despite lower attendance. Deserts are also tasty. Busboys did well but not enough servers for drinks. Good value for the price if you like seafood.
Our Anniversary dining experience was awesome, we had the pleasure of the table side preparation on the Cesar Salad and Shrimp Scampi - it was excellent, and the preparer explained the processes and ingredients as he was preparing. It's becoming less common to have this experience, so I hope Jill's continues to offer it - as it's fun, and interesting to see all the great ingredients being used for the dishes, and the preparer enjoyed and delighted in serving it as well - making dining such a pleasure. The other main dish; Linguine Cippiono was excellent too. Our waiter was fantastic, and he always knew exactly when to check back and offered his suggestions as well. Thank you so much for the complimentary prosecco - we really enjoyed it!
Always a treat to go to Jill's. The service was outstanding as always for a 5 star restaurant. The food was incredible and the decor was very nice. I was disappointed that the management has taken away the nice white linen and consolidated the menu. Previously the bar menu, main restaurant and specialty menus were all separate. I think the consolidated menu diminishes the overall feel that has always made this place special.
Awesome experience. Went for a dinner anniversary. Food and service was great! 900 walnut salads to start (which were great). I had the steak frites (NY strip, nice and tender) she had the salmon (cooked perfectly, great flavor). Made us feel special on our special day! Will be back!
We try and visit every Friday for the Vegan Buffet. The selection is always different and delicious. Our favorite parts are the soup, desserts and "free" glass of wine that is included with the meal - but everything is great. The service is also top notch with servers and management making it a point to get to know their customers. And their dinner menu also has vegan options available, so it's a great place to take meat eaters and veggies.
