I don't get out of the office much however when I do get a chance to meet with a business colleague or client it is always a pleasant experience when dining at JG Domestic. I actually work in the Cira Centre therefore, I find it to be an extremely convenient location to host a business meeting, Happy Hour or and evening out to dinner with a friend. They have a great menu selection with some unique but super tasty choices. They have a nice selection of alcoholic beverages to choose from such as well as coffee/cappuccino, smoothies {when you are wanting something a little healthier} and the normal non-alcoholic beverages. The service is always wonderful! The food is always served fresh and at a good temperature. This restaurant has a nice vibe to it and most importantly it is in a great location when commuting home by train!!!

We ordered 2 different apps. Hummus and flatbread. Both were equally delicious. The hummus had edamame in it and topped with a very light and fluffy cheese. The flatbreads were simple, not greasy and wonderfully flavored. I had a butternut squash soup with quinoa...really good. Everyone enjoyed their salads and sandwiches!! We also ordered duck fat fries which were fantastically flavored! I'd go back in a minute!!

The daily crab cake special arrived burned. The crab cake was actually black with the black side facing up. The burned surface could not be disputed. When we pointed it out to our server, he just looked at us and then after a few seconds said, "Why don't you taste it and let me know after you taste it." Since some of the members of our party were on their lunch hour, we did not have time for a replacement. The server did not offer to have us speak to the manager, or even to bring something that did not require cooking.
I have never experienced anything as disappointing as this - both in the quality of the food, or the lack of responsiveness from the staff.

We enjoyed the "special" lunch. Price is a bit higher than we'd wish, but the manager kindly removed a $3 charge for a bit of cheddar on a burger. Cora Center lobby is a good spot to wait for a dining companion due in on a train, but not in a good walkable area.

This is a solid place for a business lunch or lunch for pleasure. The menu is limited but everything is good. The only "negative" - which could be perceived by some as a positive is the location in an open area of the Cira Centre. At times the volume / background can be a little noisy.

My husband and I loved the food here - especially the eggplant hummus we ordered as an appetizer. He enjoyed the JG Domestic burger with the duck fat fries and I had the zucchini sandwhcih - both were delicious. We also really enjoyed the blended juices on the menu. We had a relaxed lunch and were grateful for a kind and helpful server. We will definitely be returning!

The Shrimp and Grits isn't a bad choice. It's just irritating to have to behead it and remove the tail before I can eat. Isn't that what food prep us for? And its only 3 shrimp, so really we discard more than we can eat.

The service was awful. We sat for close to 10 minutes before Melissa wandered over to see if we wanted drinks. She took our order then disappeared until we'd been waiting another 10 minutes to have the plates removed. The floor manager had stopped by, so maybe Melissa figured that was enough.

The only reason we went was for convenience. Next time, I'll inconvenience myself and go somewhere else.

I chose JG Domestic because it was a convenient place to meet my mom between a Bolt Bus ride and a SEPTA train ride, but it has gone way downhill since I ate there a year ago. My pork sandwich was a pale imitation or one you could get a Dinicks or Tony Lukes. The turkey on my mom's salad was too smokey and dry around the edges as if it had been cut way earlier. The hosts, Sierra was awesome, but our waitress was sour and curt. If Jose Garces wants to keep making money in Philly, he better come back from Arizona and wright the ship.

I made reservations for lunch last Thursday. We were seated right away, but had to wait a while for our server. Once he came, he took our drink orders which came right out. We then ordered because we knew going in what we wanted (Thursday's special). The food was delicious, but it took forever and I had to run back to my office for my 2:00 meeting. (we arrived at 12:30).

JG Domestic is a convenient spot for the business lunch crowd due to its location in the Cira Centre lobby. Usually loud and fairly crowded. Food is decent, but not what I would associate with Jose Garces and the Iron Chef crowd. Quality of preparation is a bit inconsistent, especially for this price point.

The menu has changed since my last visit. The hoagie of the month featured mortadella. When asked what that was, our server described it as "just a bunch of meats, sort of like bologna." Which didn't inspire a lot of interest. One member of our party opted for it, in spite of the description.

Recent business lunch had the longest wait I have ever experienced. Chicken panini and a cobb salad is that complicated? Although waitress was apologetic for the incredible delays, she was absent for long periods of time. When the food finally appeared, it was the wrong order. When the correct order showed up, the food was just ok, and the serving size of the cobb salad was meager at best. The manager did appear and comp the lunch (we didn't complain or ask for that), so service recovery was appropriate given the situation. My lunch partner, who works in the area, remarked that "it's always something" when he has lunch here. My first time, so I have no basis to judge. But absent a compelling reason to go back, unlikely I would elect to dine here again. Disappointing given the many fine experiences I have had at other Jose Garces restaurants (love Amada and Tinto). Very poor reflection on the Garces brand.

The food was complex and delicious. The smoked carrots were revelatory! The heads-on shrimp and grits were full of flavor, though the portion was rather small. The burger was bit and juicy and everything you hope for in a burger. However, the service was spotty and slow--interesting in a place that you would think caters to business people who need to get back to work in a timely way. The coffee was lukewarm, and refills on drinks were hard to come by. But overall, a great restaurant. For us, it's all about the food.

Service is always impeccable. BBQ Cobb salad is OUTRAGEOUS. Not dipping in BBQ sauce, but come with a tender, smoked chicken that's out of this world. Hummus to start always a fav. Veggie Burger is also one of my standbys. Always enjoy.

Had a late lunch here with my wife. Despite the fact the restaurant is in the lobby of the Ciro center, it was quiet and pleasant place to dine. We noted that there plenty of other more private dining areas as well. We had excellent tuna melt and turkey club sandwiches which were well executed and unique. The tuna salad was quite tasty with white meat and capers. The turkey club had a locally sourced jalapeno bacon that put it over the top. The chips and duck fat fries were also quite lovely, the latter with a malt vinegar mayo.

This restaurant continues to get worse and worse with each visit. I have clients in the Cira Center who sometimes have time constraints so JG Domestics is the best choice - and that is the only reason it is the best choice. The service is always hit or miss as well as the quality and preparation of the food. I enjoy several other JG restaurants, but this one needs a little help.

Service was slow and inattentive. Our order was apparently misplaced / not handed to the kitchen - not just once, but twice. Which might have been tended to sooner, but we were ignored by the wait staff, completely. One of those things where you wonder whether it would be better to just walk out without eating. When food came - an hour late - it was wrong. But we dared not say anything for fear we would go without lunch. In compensation, one soda and one iced tea were deducted from the tab. And a life-time customer lost for good.

Just like at Rosa Blanca, the food, service and ambiance are all nice. The people are friendly. But the presentation lacks finesse. Sandwiches come on a white plate. No garnish, no color. Once there was a pickle spear. It all looks so uninteresting. I miss Chifa.

We had a business lunch on Thursday, and while the ambiance of the restaurant was much the same -(we hadn't been in the place for nearly a year) the April specialty 'Poor Boy' shrimp sandwich was over done, the roll was sub-par and the flavor was terrible. Almost everything seemed overdone -- the drinks, the bourbon desert -- it felt like a novice chef was running the place. We happen to be fans of Mr.Garces and wish him well, but things have tumbled since we were there last. I won't even mention what our business guest said.

We walked through the train station to get there, and it felt like we had gone to another city for lunch. Well off the beaten track, JG Domestic is located in the lobby of the Cira Center, one of my favorite buildings in the Philadelphia skyline.. My husband had a burger and I had the beet salad, which at first looked small but every mouthful was so delicious and, in the end, I couldn't finish the last two beets, so my husband came to the rescue. The food was great and the ambiance was bright and cozy. We will be back next time we need a stay at home lunch that feels like a mini vacation!

The food here is great but you are in the base of a business tower. With that said, being in a business tower and so close to 30th street station, JG Domestic is the perfect place for a great lunch and drink in that area if you are meeting with friends or colleagues. Our service was amazing and I would definitely go back there when in the area.

I guess when you hear whispers about great food at a restaurant, one would expect a great experience. With only one lunch experience, I may not revisit. Would I recommend? Probably not. I live in NYC with great restaurants, and I thought JG was in line with an average lunch spot, not a superior lunch spot. Perhaps the food tried too hard to be great but I felt it missed the mark. Trying too hard is a wannabe move, not an established & respected chefs' move. Disappointed.

Steps away from 30th St. Station, charming rustic pergola creates an intimate atmosphere within the sweeping lobby of the Cira complex. Glad we had a reservation for a busy Wednesday lunch hour, as the place was packed. Beet salad with the grilled chicken breast was excellent; interesting mix of flavors in the salad topped by perfectly juicy chicken. Tuna melt tasty, chicken and broccoli rabe pesto panini savory and fresh. Coffee here is excellent. I would recommend this place, and would go there again.
