   Arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation with family who had come up to Dublin for the day and the restaurant was closed. Why offer reservations on OpenTable if you are not open?? Why did no one contact me regarding their opening times. Why did I get an email the night before saying looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Couldn't have looked like more of an idiot to my family who I invited up for Christmas eve dinner. Thanks a lot OpenTable and Jewel on the crown.

   Open Table accepted the booking but when I called the restaurant they said they were fully booked for over a week. We never got to attend the booking because of this

   Double booked and owner said it was Open tables fault . Did not get accommodated

   I am utterly disgusted with The Jewel in the Crown. I had a booking for dinner with my wife. I booked through this app, but when we arrived they claimed not to have my booking , and claimed that Open Table overbook. They refused to honour my booking and basically made no effort to accommodate us. I have been a regular here over the years but I won’t darken their door again. They also don’t check COVID certificates, and did so only once out of the last four times I went there.

   I love the food here, and it is usually of very good quality. However, I had an incident recently which made me consider coming back again. One of our group ordered a lamb Shashlick and two of us ordered chicken shashlicks as our main. The lamb arrived on the sizzling hot plate, but only one chicken dish arrived. When we asked about the other dish we were told it was for two! It certainly wasn’t twice the helping of the lamb version! Unfortunately due to time pressure I couldn’t follow this up with the manager. We did tell the waiter that it was not on. If it ever happens again it will be the last time I go there. And this would be a pity, as it is one of my favourite Indian restaurants.

   We arrived for our 10:30p reservation and were turned away because they were only open for take away/delivery after 10p. They're still accepting reservations up to 11pm right now.

   Booking was made even though they weren’t able to offer an outdoor table to comply with COVID regs. When we arrived at the appointed time, we ended up being turned away. No attempt had been made to contact us to advise us not to come.
