Jessica's at Swift House Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating our anniversary and staying at the Swift House Inn. The meal we had was incredible, our server wonderful, and the food outstanding! We will definitely be back again when we visit Vermont. Thank you for helping make our anniversary special!
We have been having dinner here for the last 8 years. As always, the bar was excellent, the menu eclectic, the service impeccable, the food delicious with ample servings, the ambiance warm, romantic and cozy. This is without a doubt our favorite restaurant in Vermont.
We took my Dad here for his 89th birthday. We were seated in the library at a perfect table by the fire. The manager/sommelier is wonderful and greeted us warmly. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful (and patient with dad). All of our entrees were excellent: Duck Two Ways, halibut, salmon and a ribeye steak for dad. The pate appetizer was WOW, with mustard and a raspberry jam sauce. The restaurant was packed by the time we left, but the noise levels were well controlled by the layout of the different rooms. We've been coming back here at least annually and always have a magnificent meal! Thank you!
My wife and I took our Middlebury College sophomore out to dinner at the Jessica Swift House recently. We were very pleased with our overall experience. The food was wonderful, as was the ambiance. Davi, the Sommelier, was very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. He assisted in making our evening one to remember.
You simply must have the duck fat fries. I had the Swift house burger and fries. It was heaven.
My husband had the venison and it too was wonderful. At least that’s what he told me since he wouldn’t let me have any. And then he started in on my fries.
Quiet place and the sommelier was quick with suggestions and told me it was perfectly okay to drink white wine with my burger. Love him!
My husband and I were looking for something different locally since it was our 38th anniversary. Jessica’s was the perfect choice for a quiet romantic meal with delicious food, great service, a nice wine selection and an old Inn atmosphere. Just what we were looking for to make our evening special and not just another night out. To top it off the prices were reasonable. We look forward to returning.
For special occasions, you can't beat Jessicas. Staff is wonderful (especially Tom, wine expert extraordinaire, and Jodi, a flawless wait staffer. Then there is the food--always beautifully prepared and presented. Atmosphere charming New England Inn at its best.
Very nice dinner in a quiet Select Register inn in Vermont. Food was well presented and tasty - a very good clam chowder starter and the rice pilaf side dish with the main courses were standouts. I gave fewer stars for ambiance as the restaurant is in the same area as the inn breakfast area and lacked the character a good dining room should have.
It was our 5th anniversary, and we needed a great night out in our new home. Arriving a bit early was not a problem, and everyone was fantastic. Our meal was perfect, and the staff was available when needed (or wanted). It's not priced to be a local weekly place, but we'll worth it for a great meal for special occasions (or first impressions). We didn't get the chance, but tapas at the bar might be a good place to start. The patio looked nice, but it was a it cool during our visit. I'm looking forward to our next visit.
We arrived early to have a cocktail on the screened porch and walk around the grounds. The bartender is very helpful and personable. The flowers and herb gardens are colorful and well maintained. Our table was ready as promised. We started with the fried calamari and the french fries with the dipping sauce. Both were very flavorful. The homemade bread was delicious as well. Everyone was very pleased with their entrees. We had the diver sea scallops, tenderloin steak, crab cakes and the pork chop. Everything is locally sourced and fresh. Our meals were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. We finished with the maple creme brûlée for dessert which was smooth and creamy.
We had dined here three years ago and returned because we were in the area again. We would highly recommend dining here. Five forks!!
I wanted to treat myself for my 60th birthday. I decided that this place was fancy enough to be a treat, but that the food would be great. Not only was the food great, but so was the service and atmosphere. I had a lovely time and highly recommend this place for any occasion. I am from Florida so this Vermont local food restaurant was even better than I anticipated. It was a great birthday gift to myself!
Jessica's is our favorite restaurant in the Middlebury area. The restaurant is situated in an old country inn. The entire dining experience is very classy. They have won several wine awards and they have an extensive offering of wines. The food is always delicious and artfully presented. The service is also wonderful. The pace of dining is attentive, but not rushed. This is a wonderful place for any type of special occasion.
The Swift House is a lovely and charming spot for indoor and outdoor dining. Great food, great atmosphere, creative cuisine with a traditional touch. We loved the porch one night and came back a few days later to eat in the library. Nice wine selection and great local cheeses and produce. We watched one of the kitchen helpers cut fresh chives and parsley for our meal. We'll be back on our next trip from Pennsylvania.
