It is these sentiments that inspired the Rosenthal brothers to add a fourth restaurant to their SOMA empire (Jersey being the youngest, after Town Hall, Salt House, and Anchor & Hope). Can you get true East Coast pizza out here? Hell no. Is Jersey going to fill that void? Absolutely
Dinner: Monday - Thursday and Saturday: 5:30pm - 10:00pm, Friday: 5:30pm - 11:00pm
Jersey needs to update its menu on opentable. This is really a restaurant for a cheap date of pizza and carbs. While the menu shows fish as on option. There is no fish. We should have left. Its ok for pizza, but I was looking for the fine foods part of the menu and there really isn't much if you don't eat carbs.
Food was great, very accommodating. Offered us a split pizza so that we were only getting one. Focaccia was great! Tomato sauce is heavenly!
Tables Are ridiculously close together. The food is certainly decent though my idea of a thin crust pizza involves and even thinner crust.
Jersey is a great place for a casual lunch - SOMA. It's close to our office and so it's convenient; but mostly, they just make GREAT pizza and salads! Even though they have both California and East Coast pizza options, I suggest just going all out and getting the New Yorker! So perfectly traditional and delicious.
Jersey is a great, casual primarily pizza restaurant but with good salads and sides, too. I work close to Jersey and it is one of my regular "go to" spots for lunch. Definitely try it!
I grew up in New Jersey and on real Jersey pizza. This place does an extremely credible job. It transported me back there gustatorily, which is arguably the best way to go back. Great job, youse guys.
Great Italian style pizzas and sides. Very accommodating of dietary requirements. Great service overall!
Fast and quality.
It's a great place for good pizza! The service is helpful and we come periodically.
No one raised west of Chicago has any business judging pizza. I grew up in New Jersey and these guys really get it. My husband and I look forward to celebrating there with friends in November after the blue tsunami. We love that the owners are good with staff wearing this t shirt. Photo taken with permission.
Truly the best Pizza this side of the Mississippi! Great salads too.
Scaling the food price/flavor/setting to determine an overall value against its competitive set other pizza locales the value is low - 2 adults for dinner - one pizza & one chicken parm with a salad and one drink each $100 plus w/ tip. Can do far better in other locales within SF.
Great salads and appetizers but their Pizza is outstanding! The service was very warm and friendly without being overbearing. Just the right combination of delicious food & perfect service for an enjoyable evening!
Warmly welcomed, prompt service. Shared a tasty asparagus & basil pizza - the garlic on it was creamy goodness.
Service was outstanding and the food was amazing.
New Yorker Pizza was amazing!
The pizza was delicious and the drinks were great too!
Second time here. Pizza is authentic and fresh. Had New Yorker pie and was fantastic. Also bartender was awesome. Good beer and got some tasters to help my decision. Definitely worth a trip!!
Personal pizzas are excellent and their drinks are good, however, no liquor license so no cocktails, only wine-based drinks. I had the sangria and it was great. Service was attentive and pizzas came quickly. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the TV screens showing the Warriors game. It is a restaurant, not a sports bar!
Was able to get in very quickly. Staff was very friendly & able to answer questions. Food came out pretty quickly & it was all delicious. Would definitely go back again.
Pizza was ok. Coming from the East Coast we have high standards for pizza. Calimari was good and the portions were about right. Margherita pizza lacked a punch of basil. Overall good experience.
Came here for a going away business dinner, and I wanted my longtime colleague (a born and bred East Coaster) to have a decent Italian meal before he left California. We were all new to the restaurant and very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The service was on point, the ambiance had a cozy/modern feel to it, beer selection was pretty impressive, and the food quite simply blew everyone away.
We came in late for our reservation, but I think we were lucky it was 4/20 so we must have missed the normal dinner rush and they were able to seat us just fine. Otherwise, the place is a little small, so we might not have been so lucky any other day.
Then came the server, who was very helpful in our beer selections as well as our meal options. Everything, that came to our table was delicious and arrived in a very timely manner.
We had Brussel sprouts and Calamari for starters, then three different main dishes that we all split; Ahi salad, Spaghetti Meatballs, and the Chicken Parmigiana. As I said before, DELICIOUS!
Long story short, I couldn't recommend this place enough!
Good place for a date night or smallish groups.
Big disappointment from what used to be one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in SF a little over a year ago. It was obvious they’ve lost their chef
Excellent pizza, Brussels sprouts and tasty beef and beet salad. We’re a bunch of picky eaters and we all thought the food was excellent and the price extremely reasonable. Also, friendly, capable service. We didn’t order that much and didn’t order drinks (it was lunch and had to head back to work). Sometimes, servers will look at you funny. Not here. In fact, we booked for 5, but only 4 could make it. No problem. Our waiter pulled away the extra chair and said if your friend makes it, I’ll just bring the chair right back. Loved the can-do, welcoming attitude. Will definitely go back.
Excellent service and attention to customer's needs. Thank you!
The pizza was so good - recommend the Bianca. The staff were great too. Fast service. Definitely coming back again to try the past.
Quick meal with 3 friends - wings, pizza and beer
Great selection of draft beers
Delicious pizza - the prosciutto- fantastic
Their personal pizzas on Mondays and Saturdays are fantastic. A good selection of toppings on an 8-inch base, $2 per topping, and you don't have to worry about the other person's tastes and preferences, if you usually share a pizza. My creation was great. I wish they would have a better wine list and/or a full bar. No liquor so no cocktails. The beer selection is okay. Our server was great and it wasn't too loud. I will be back for my personal pizza!
Fantastic food and grog. Perfect for lunch. Smells as good and comfy as the food tastes.
A favorite neighborhood cozy good eat
Great pizza and beer. Always the go to place for me and my friends.
Place was loud
And warm and some fruit flies.
Pizza was good. wines and beers were of a good variety but nothing high end.
The Fungi Misto pizza was great - crispy, filling, and delicious! The bits of broccoli were a flavorful crunchy contrast to the mushrooms. The sautéed spinach starter was also delicious. This restaurant could be my new favorite for pizza if it wasn’t so noisy.
Dropped in after a visit to the SFMuseum of Modern Art and was delighted to find a casual, friendly restaurant with a happy hour til 7, really great pizza, delicious arancini and a shareable Caesar salad. Thanks to happy hour, the two of us had a full meal with one drink each for $60 plus tip. Great service too!
Great and authentic east coast style pizza, pasta, and apps! Reminds me of Friday nights growing up on the east coast :)
Might be my favorite pizza in SF. (Worthy of note: I'm Chicago-raised and NYC-bred, so I have strong opinions on this topic.)
Also my fave place for a workday lunch. I'd go every day if I could afford it, both calorically -- the portions are huge -- and financially (it's a bit on the pricey side).
Our company comes here for lunches nearly every week and we have never been let down. Love how we are treated from the get go down to the little garnishes on each dish. Great place to grab starts with a cold beer then move to the pizza and salad with a nice glass of wine. We're temped half of the time to get desserts with some sweet wines... so we do. And we highly recommend doing the same.
Fun place, fun menu, good salads, great pizza's, grilled chicken looked delicious. Close to SFmoma.
People who work there are very nice, but the food except for the fried calamari and the pizza crust was not very good and tasted nothing like Jersey food.
Staff was awesome, very knowledgeable with the beer and wines selections. They were friendly and provided excellent service. We had the meatball crostini to start, homemade meatball, delicious. We shared a east coast pizza and it was fantastic. For dessert we shared a tiramisu, also homemade and very good. I would recommend trying this place with some friends.
