Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grill Fall River Ratings and Reviews
I made a reservation using OpenTable for 9:30 PM on a Sunday night. I diverted from the freeway driving from Logan Airport in Boston to Newport Rhode Island, because I had not eaten a meal since breakfast. When I get to the restaurant, the doors are locked, and a group of the staff was having a party at one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant. All the lights were on. All the televisions were on. The doors were locked, the staff would noteven answer the door, much less let me in, and they did not answer the phone. This restaurant should not take reservations for times when it is not open. Is extremely inconvenient, and it could be a safety concern. Overall, the worst experience ever ever had using OpenTable.
This was our first time to Jerry Remy's and we enjoyed the atmosphere - the towering TV screens, light fixtures and layout - and the food. We ordered prime rib and steak tips, and both were done perfectly. The drink menu was also pretty expansive. It was not super crowded when we were there, so it might be noisier when more crowded, but we look forward to trying the outside deck this summer.
Restaurant cancelled our reservation 2 hours before we were due to arrive because they were "closing" at 6pm...on NEW YEARS EVE. This happened after I spoke to the restaurant at noon and they reconfirmed my reservation for that evening. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
We dined late and this was our first time here. Everything was wonderful. The deep fried items were very light and the non-fried stuff was skillfully prepared. The beer list was extensive but the range was limited. They did not have a saison on tap nor a kolsch, but lagers and IPAs were available.
The decor was first rate. Sight lines on big screens were great, the volume was not intrusive, and the interior was inviting with a great remodel. Lastly the booths were comfortable and the environment was very enjoyable. Do much so, that we returned the following evening for a late night dinner.
We went Saturday night for my birthday. There are a lot of screens but it is not noisy. Very open floor plan. Great waiter and we all enjoyed our food. There were a number of people there with their families. We would definitely go again.
Disappointing. I've dined here many times and am always impressed with the consistency of the food. On this particular visit, the entrees/appetizers left much to be desired. Mango-habanero chicken wings lacked flavor (they were bland). The chicken Parmesan appetizer was short on chicken (one small piece) and heavy on the pasta. The fish and chips also tasted rather bland.
This is a great place to watch sports events with the plethora of TVs available including the 3 big wall units except on a Wednesday night when they show kid's movies. Our party of 2 gave enthusiastic thumbs up for the fish & chips (batter not oily at all) and the bourbon dipped turkey tips. The food is consistent and the service is a little slow. Service has been that way since the place opened. The food was served piping hot.
Not happy with the waitstaff or the receptionist. This was Fathers Day and I made a reservation and even though we were seated promptly our food came out very very slow. Our nachos were DRY ... Virtually nothing on the chips ... Then I couldn't order clams because you used them in the clam boils ... Although we ordered clam oils they came out cold. We were entitled to a dessert which my son had wanted but we never got it. Our waitress was overwhelmed with the amount of tables she had and apologized for the wait for food. She finally brought the dessert only after a wait of over 15 minutes (during which time she had asked the receptionist to get it for us ) ... When neither person got the dessert we got ready to leave. I asked the receptionist where the desert was figuring we could take it home ... Just as we got to the door our original waitress came with the dessert on a dish but never brought it to us instead took it to our now empty table. I spent a lot of money ... Including a $15 tip .... Sunday to present a nice meal for my husband ... So very disappointed. I am giving away the $10 gift card as I really don't think I want to dine there again.
Great location. Food took very long to come out but that obviously wasn't the wait staff's fault. The manager came over and apologized and gave us a free plate of French fries, a small compensation of the bill or a gift certificate would have been more appropriate.
While I thought it was a great idea to spend quality time with my daughter at a great outdoor location on a beautiful day, I was clearly wrong. While the service was okay, and the location was lovely, that's where the accolades stop. I ordered a salad and my daughter ordered a turkey wrap. We waited for over 35 minutes ( which is not long when it's busy, but this was a Monday, at 5:30, with only two other couples on the patio and perhaps half a dozen inside) at which point the waitress let us know they were just waiting on her sweet potato fries. Another 15 minutes goes by and she politely informs us they are out of sweet potato fries. My daughter nicely orders onion rings and then come out with the meal about 10 minutes later. Now, I would love to say it was worth the wait. But I would be wrong! My salad was good, her turkey wrap was far from that. The bacon was rubbery and the turkey was slimy, like old luncheon meat. So, I am thoroughly disappointed and the best part of the evening was being able to commiserate with her about how awful this experience was.
We made a reservation for a special occasion for a Wed. night not knowing it was kids night. The manager Shannon called us prior to our arrival to let us know! We decided to go anyway and sat outside. The view is great near the water. However, was disappointed in my burger - lacking taste!
Overall, a good night though.
Hadn't been back in a while. Decided to give if another shot. Won't be returning anytime soon. Order was messed up for 2 out of 6 of us. Food was just ok and not worth the price. Can get better food at the same or better price in this area. Too bad. Location is great and so is the decor and ambiance.
This is the 2nd time I have eaten at this restaurant and I have been pleasantly surprised each time. If you are a sports fanatic, this is the place to be. We counted 20 televisions, one of which is larger than the side of my garage! Being a sports bar, one might imagine that the "restaurant" would merely be pub style food. Not the case. The menu is far more extensive. The food was very good. The ambiance fun and festive.
In all the times I have dined here, I have never had a bad meal. The quality of the meals are consistently very good. The quesadila appetizer portion is large enough to have as an entree. Its flavorful. One thing hasn't changed. When the restaurant is busy, it can take longer than usual for food to brought to the table.
The server we had was extremely attentive. We also had other servers come to our table to check on us which was nice. We came for the minion event. Although the video would not stay on the screen my little sister loved it and loved the "live" minion that came around to the tables. However, I would not bring her back to this restaurant again. I do not view it as a place to bring your children. It is more of an adult restaurant/bar. The food was not all that great. My mom wasn't thrilled with her burger and My wrap wasn't all that great either.
I must say I was very disappointed. I decided to make a reservation for Mother's Day. When we got to the restaurant at 5 p.m. I was surprised at how empty it was. We were seated right away and it took quite some time for our waiter to come over. We placed a drink order; only one of which was a drink from the bar and that took quite some time. We ordered our food and when the appetizer came out the waiter put it down and walked away. We had no plates. So we waited for him to finally come back by so we could get some. About 3 minutes later our entrees were being delivered. The entrée was just ok. My husband and I ordered the filet mignon which was on special and my kids had steak tips. My son who is 11 and eats every thing in sight did not eat his steak tips. He said they tasted funny. My husband asked for the check and at this point I decided to take the kids and wait in the car. After 25 minutes my husband finally came out. It took that long for the waiter to get the check and bring back change. I understand when restaurants are busy things may take a little longer but this was not the case here. I read reviews prior to going which did not look good but I like to try things for myself. Live and learn.
Stopped here for a light dinner before a show. Basically an upscale sports bar with lots of tv's tuned to various sports. But you may be seated at a tale where you can't see the baseball game. You might be watching soccer or lacrosse which was what I could see. If it matters to you make sure to get a table that works.
Food was fine, I had a Remy burger that was a little more rare than medium rare. Portions were generous. Service was fine.
Definitely a step up from Applebee's or TGIF, and good for a family night out.
I would go back if in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip.
It took a couple of minutes to be acknowledged. Not a big deal when a restaurant is busy. Huge deal when it is near empty. The food was good. The service was good also. They had a large selection beer. And true to namesake a nice sports bar theme with plenty of sports playing on many large screens.
