I have gone to Jensen's multiple times, and I really enjoy going there. As a heads up, I would recommend going there earlier in the morning. The place does get busy after 9am, though that is expected of any breakfast location. Especially since Jensen's is a Hot Spot for breakfast in the area.
Anyways, when I have gone, the servers were always kind, attentive and on top of things. Never had a bad waitress or a bad meal there. The price of everything is also pretty good. I have never tried their dinner, but breakfast and lunch is delicious.
I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good breakfast.
My daughter and I enjoyed supper at this restaurant. The service was great and the food delicious. She had Parmesan Fish and I asked what they were known for and was told breakfast so I had wonderful French toast, cheesy hash browns, bacon and eggs. The place wasn’t anything fancy but Great value! Wonderful server.
Waitress was slow and inattentive despite it being a slow night. She wasn’t friendly at all. The coffee tasted like dirty dishwater. The pancakes were great as usual but I was disappointed in the overall experience.
We ate there on Saturday 1/20/18 because it was close to Ames Center. I really enjoyed the restautant and its atmosphere overall. I had the "Kitchen Sink Omelette" and it was good.
First time here. We were looking for something close to Ames Center and reviews looked good. I had the prime rib special and it was delicious. They had a good variety to choose from as well as breakfast all day long. Parking was a little tough but would not keep me from going again. Also cute little store called Ficus and Fig in the same building.
All of our meals were delicious!! Pancakes, omelette, and strawberry salad. Can't wait to go back! Love the syrup!!
We dined prior to an event at the Ames Center nearby. Jensen's is like a small town cafe with very good food. Good value too. Wine pricing good value. Burger was great!
Three strikes, I'm out. Not going back.
I made a reservation about a month in advance for my husband, mother and I, pre-show.
We were sat in the middle of a service hallway between the cafe and empty bar.
It was right under a speaker, playing terrible music...bad 90s and "today's hits". Know your customers! My husband, at 32, was the youngest, besides a handful of teenagers with their families, by 20 years easily.
Service was adequate, food was okay.
The table was very disappointing.
We were a rowdy group and Andi handled us perfectly!
Excellent food and very nice ambiance. Service was good and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Classic Supper Club menu and ambiance. Food and service were excellent. Our family occasions had been celebrated at a better known restaurant for several years, but the service and experience seemed to be on a long decline. Jensen's will be our new choice for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
This is a great "go-to" spot. Always guaranteed a great meal with great service. I love their breakfast no matter the time of day, and the syrup is the best! Love this place!
Jensen's is always great. Large portions. Covered ramp parking available.
Very accommodating, i.e., honored my request for a smaller oz. size hamburger. Welcoming reception.
Nice light dinner. More like a diner. Nothing special. Simple and quiet.
Great food wonderful staff.
Our server was not attentive. Food was mediocre. We had to ask for hot water for our tea, received the wrong sandwich.
Not even close to what was ordered. Salads had the wrong dressing.
Never going back.
Had a nice dinner before a show at the nearby Ames Center. Having a reservation was fortunate--there was a 30 minute wait for a table otherwise. Great food and service. We will be back!
Difficult and very limited parking options with anyone needing a handicapped spot. Food was nothing special .
Always a delight to come here for a great meal. Very friendly staff.
Our food was very good, and the server was top notchnotch.
Wine is no longer available. Reuben sandwich was bland. Chicken enchilada was without flavor despite lots of sauce. Requested salsa but what we got was not really salsa.
We enjoyed our meals very much. I've had the tuna melt and I've had the walleye dinner - both very good. We have gone for dinner more than breakfast or lunch and have had good service each time.
My wife and I enjoyed a nice, quiet Friday night dinner. Both of our meals were very good and our service was excellent. It was refreshing to be able to have a conversation without loud background noise interfering.
We took our 13 year old granddaughter out for dinner before a show at Ames Center.
She had her tonsils out 8 days prior and only had jello, applesauce and icecream since the surgery. She ordered the Swedish pancakes and was so happy that she could eat something solid and that they tasted so wonderful. She even googled the recipe and wants to make them at home. Waitress was friendly and nice. Great food. We live in Plymouth but we will definitely be back.
Our server was very helpful and didn't bother us every five minutes. We came in for a quiet evening to celebrate our anniversary. Food was good and the price was spot on.
The food and service was amazing! Excellent as always!
Fine place for friends from Stillwater, Jordan and St Paul to meet up. Round table for six was excellent size for conversation. Broad but not overwhelming menu had something for everyone.
The food was good, the service was very good. I was a bit surprised to find out that they did not have a beer and wine license. But it was an enjoyable place to eat.
Great place to eat. Big portions and great food. The only negative would be the parking.
We were in need of good food, in rather short order, due to a dance competition. There were unique items on the menu and quite a variety of choices. You could get anything from breakfast to dinner. We all enjoyed the food and our waitress was kind and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Jensen's is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Really good service, too. Thank You, Jensen's cafe!
We had excellent service for our large group at lunch the other day. Good food. Very busy, so call ahead!
Made reservations and noted it was my Moms 84th birthday. She arrived first and was told she gets a free ice cream sundae. When we placed our order I asked for soup before my sandwich. My soup came before sandwich but was only half done when our food came. I had ordered Fajita Chicken sandwich without the chipotle mayo. It came with it on. Our server never stopped to ask how our meal was to mention it. Had to flag down a busboy for water. Server was anxious about a asking if we needed a box for leftovers thou. She stopped by with check and we mentioned it Mom's birthday and said yes she gets a free ice cream sundae and quickly turned to get it. She left so quick not even asking the rest of us if we wanted dessert, which we were thinking about too. The restaurant did not seem busy or maybe understaffed but very poor service. The food was very good thou.
It feels like an old time neighborhood café. The food was good but really nothing like the other restaurant they own. The quality was fine but lacked creativity. I eat out so much I like me food to reel me in. The server was very personable.
Had the special - chicken Marsala. Great flavor, but a bit salty. Good service and friendly people.
The evening manager canceled our reservation because we were 15 minutes late for a 6:15 dinner. The restaurant had numerous and available open tables. He was not able to reward me my 100 points for the reservation and suggested I make a second "fake" reservation and he'd take care of it. Open table reservations would not work after the cancelation so I called manager. He was not helpful!!! I finally went through the OpenTable website and was helped immediately and rewarded the 100 points.
We've been many times. The service was outstanding and the food was generally good. But a couple things were disappointing. First, the patio wasn't open. Summer evenings in Minnesota are supposed to be spent on the patio! Second, they no longer have wine and beer. Huh? And finally, they serve cafe potatoes with most meals. It's one of their signature items. But they were way overlooked and tasted as if they'd been frozen (and absorbing favors from the freezer) then reheated. And reheated. And reheated. All our entrees were done beautifully and our server was as nice and attentive as could be. We'll be back for breakfast or lunch. But not for dinner. Remember that whole wine/beer/patio thing?
This was my second visit and both were great. I would definitely recommend Jensen's and will absolutely return myself.
