Jeffrey Adams on Fourth
Way over rated! The hostess had an attitude, the waiters were friendly but rushed us, picking up plates before everyone was finished, the food was over cooked, too salty and uninspiring.
The website makes this place look like it would be a very special, upscale fine dining experience. It is a bar with bar food.
Nice wine selection. PAMA Sangria was more like a cocktail but still a tasty choice! Crab cake sandwich was a bit on the salty side and largely mustard based, not bad but not great. Apple crisp dessert on point though.
Food was good as always. However, my friends mac and cheese was very dry. It appeared to have been sitting in a warmer for a while. Otherwise, food was great. Steak was cooked correctly.
Pedestrian. Food was underwhelming and prepared poorly, the ambiance is one of a restaurant that does not exactly know what it wants to be. Service was attentive but unenthusiastic.
Thankfully, this was not my first visit to Jeffrey Adams so I knew the experience was not the norm for this downtown favorite.
Steak returned twice and not cooked to requested temperature , rolls undercooked and cold when served( fresh ones replaced) .
Wonderful service but not able to make up for kitchen lack of pulling it together.
Hopefully, this was just on off night.
If you havde not had the cheesecake at JA you are missing out.
Went there for Mother’s day dinner. Service was awful, the server didn’t even say happy mother’s day.
What a great find for us. This was our second time in a month eating there and both times the food and service were top notch. I believe it will be a family favorite going forward. I highly recommend!
Dinner and drinks were good as always! Service was on point even though they were crowed.
Great food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of each entree. My wife had questions about the entrees and he was able to answer each question and provided great suggestions.
I would like to go again eat in the heart of the restaurant and not in the very back upstairs by the kitchen. It was the best place for our group when we went because it was busy, but I'd like to sit in a better spot next time. Food was superb, wait staff was friendly and courteous.
It took 30 minutes to get an appetizer and the waitress totally forgot the Mimosas.
We sat with water only for 30 minutes. Food is ok but not the same offerings and price that you find on their website. The bench seat was ripped and a failed attempt to patch it with packaging tape was uncomfortable. Better places to eat downtown.
Always happy with this restaurant. Great food and atmosphere. Wish the server would have been just a little bit more attentive to our party of seven.
Despite our reservation, the staff tried to seat us at a table top near the bar. We had to request another table and remind them that we had a reservation for a regular dinner table. Food was amazing.
This is usually our go to place for special occasion dinners, but this time we didn’t really enjoy anything about the experience. We had a reservation at 6:30 and didn’t get to sit down until 7, and we didn’t get our food until 8. All of our steaks weren’t prepared the way we asked for them to be and our side dishes weren’t all that either. Our server took 15 minutes to get our drinks to us as she was just talking to other waitstaff and we could clearly see her. Just not sure if we’d come back honestly.
This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant. We were excited to take a family member for a mother’s day great. Unfortunately our experience was not good. The food was not good for any of us. The appetizer tasted very stale. The macaroni and cheese did not taste good. They brought me the incorrect side dish. Overall a disappointing and poor experience.
Excellent Ribeye, great service and a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended
Nice place definitely will be back. Love the atmosphere.
Always fresh and tasty. And the service is polite and prompt
I made my first visit to Jeffery Adams on 4th this past Saturday evening. I had their Land & Sea main course and it was simply amazing! It was one of those moments when you want to inhale the food because it tastes so good, but then also cut it into as small of pieces as possible to make it last longer. Great location and ambiance, my server was just the perfect amount of attentive. It was a great place to treat myself! Would definitely go back there the next time I'm in Winston-Salem.
Love going there...service..food..always great! Love the smoked gouda mac n cheese.
Incredible food! Chicken was exceptional and cooked perfectly. Can’t wait until our next visit.
The ambiance was great for my second date! (Ha! That rhymed!) We were able to have great conversation, the server kept out drinks topped off, the steak was perfect, and I can’t stop talking about it! We definitely will be back!
We were up in Winston-Salem for Easter Sunday and planned to eat at Jeffery Adams prior to our event. Downtown Winston-Salem was alive but certainly not packed, but given the day, this was understandable. The restaurant had a nice crowd but not packed - a plus as the restaurant could be a bit noisy if all the tables had been full. Our server was friendly and polite, but a little soft-spoken. Given we were there at Noon, we had expected the Lunch menu to be out but instead were provided, and charged, the dinner menu. Okay, it was Easter Sunday. So all of the above push me to rating a 4 on most areas.
The food, however, was outstanding!! My spouse ordered the 8 oz Sirloin, cooked Rare, and it was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Curry Pumpkin Ravioli with Shrimp. Wow, what a taste combo with coconut milk and sage. Just terrific. I am not a huge fan of curry but this sounded way good and I was not disappointed. Definitely a 5 for the food.
Would we eat there again? Yes, but probably at lunch during the week to get a little better bang for the buck.
Wonderful service and excellent food
One of the best meals we've had in awhile. The filet minion was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Our waitress was excellent and we had a really enjoyable evening.
Excellent food and service as is the norm here.
My wife got the grilled ahi tuna and I the duck breast and both were excellent. The service was great as well; we had a leisurely dinner and enjoyed ourselves very much.
I loved that I was seated on time per my reservation, my server Teresa was very friendly, helpful, and a wonderful waitress, the food was incredible! I've already recommended it 2 times since eating there a few days sgo!
We really enjoyed the On the Fly 3 for $10 deal. Perfect for a quick bite before a Sunday matinee!
Always good food and service. I have dietary restrictions but Nick and staff ensure those needs are addressed. Thanks so much!!!!
The ambience of the first floor is fabulous. The upstairs is more bland and the lights are hung too low to comfortably without banging your head on a light.
The ahi tuna appetizer and entree were both the same prep: shake and bake seasoned ahi sliced and served cold with a teaspoon of seaweed salad or hot with sweet potatoes and asparagus. Not recommended.
The crab dip was a delicate seasoned dream for a starter and the cowboy ribeye and duck breast were cooked to perfection with the BEST Brussels sprouts ever prepared.
I am going to go back next time and just order Brussels sprouts and chocolate dream dessert which we were too full to try.
The food is good but nothing over the tops special. It seems to be a step above the best you could do at home. It might seem silly but the glasswear, plates and ect are cheap lowering the rating. If I am paying that price for a meal I don't expect dollar store glasswear and diner quality plates. Overall the decor is modern but rustic. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Very helpful with allergy accomodations. We will be back but it is not our top choice in the city for value or quality.
Excellent service and outstanding food! My wife and I had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary and look forward to returning again when we are in the area.
Great attentive service. The risotto was amazing. The diablo shrimp was not winner for our table. Too much “heat” and not enough flavor (think buffalo chicken sauce). Did not have time to try dessert but will definitely order a chocolate creme brûlée the next time.
All 3 of our steaks were over cooked. And it wasn’t prime meat
We waited 5 minutes for someone to come to front to seat us.
Would not go back. They most just benefit from location
We had an incredible experience here. Our waitress was so sweet and our meal was delicious. Loved the quiet, quaint atmosphere. A great local spot!
The food was very good. What pushed my overall rating down was our table. It was a 2 top that sat close to the bar
The table was awkward. Since the one seat had the view to the restrooms. On top of that people leaving the bar ignored that the table was there and had conversation over our table. The table would of been better if they moved it sideways and added a chair. Totally ruin the dinner.
Every item we ordered was delicious! 7 people ordered appetizers, entree, dessert and drinks. Everything was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!
We had an early dinner on a Friday night. The artichoke dip small plate we shared as an appetizer was steaming hot and delicious. My wife had the V-plate - a choice of one of their salads plus two sides. She reported that everything was good. I had the fried chicken plate. The breaded chicken breast was presented in such a way that it made me think that it was mass processed, but it was tasty. Instead of mashed potatoes with the chicken, I substituted smoked gouda Mac-n-cheese and it was delicious. The server was friendly and helpful throughout. We would return to the restaurant next time we visit Winston-Salem.
