Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We went back to give this place a second chance. The first time we were there we were treated as second class due to all the "regulars". This time the managers, bartender and server made sure we were taken care of with food, seating and conversation. They came around regularly and checked on us. The food is always fantastic so that wasn't an issue. We will definitely go back when in downtown Cincinnati. Quite pricey but highly recommended!
Although the food was good, the overall value of the restaurant is not good. All sides are "a la carte" and a side of mushrooms was $13. A Caesar salad was $13. This adds up to an expensive dinner. The service was great and Mark did an amazing job taking care of us. For the cost, you are packed into the restaurant and barely have 8 inches between tables. We made the reservation months in advance, and were seated in a room at a small table across from a large group. The noise was awful and you could barely hear yourself talk. We were initially seated right next to another couple, and asked to move next to the window where we at least had a little bit of room. Take away the restaurant name, and I think it would attract less of a crowd.
I experience a this restaurant for my birthday and, as usual, the experience did not disappoint! The salads, entrees, side dishes, and dessert were all of superb quality. The service was impeccable and not overbearing.
There is only one concern which will probably prevent me from eating her again: the entire serving staff is male; there are no women servers nor women assistant servers. The bartenders are all men, too. This leads me to believe that Jeff Ruby believes in misogyny and I cannot tolerate this idea.
This was only our section time at Jeff Ruby's downtown location. It was delicious. Wonderful atmosphere, phenomenal service, outstanding food. It's a little expensive for our everyday dining-out, but it's on our list for special occasions for sure. We will be back as soon as can afford it!
My husband and I went to Jeff Ruby’s for the first time on December 30th. The food was delicious and the staff was exceptional! Our order arrived quickly and the staff checked on us often. Our waiter gave us a onesie for our new baby who we are expecting in February of 2018. Also, the hostess made sure we were given a table where I would be comfortable with my pregnant belly.
This was a 5 star experience all around! Thank you to our server Tony and the GM Leo for perfect service and a perfect evening. The food and wine was as always perfect and it was once again confirmed to me that Jeff Ruby’s is the best Steakhouse in the country!
A very elegant and relaxing dinner on Christmas Eve. It is a tradition to have a nice dinner with family on Christmas Eve. Service was impeccable. Very attentive but not intrusive and not rushed. Cocktails were wll made, food was delicious and well prepared. All in all a very nice experiance. We knew it going in, but just know you are going to spend close to 100 per person.
Our experience was better than perfect! The service ( Gary) was attentive but not pushy. Steaks were prepared perfectly and served hot. Great way to celebrate our daughter, Ali's 30th birthday. Great see see Neil working the room. The staff was on their "A Game."
We're never disappointed at Ruby's.
This is my third or fourth visit to this restaurant and was somewhat disappointed. Previously we have always been seated in the main dining room or for a small group celebration in the private dining room,. On this occasion, we were seated in a dining room toward the rear of the restaurant that also included a small bar. The food was good but the pace was rushed and very noisy. The prices were as one would expect, $100 plus per person, and for this price, Cincinnati has some fine dining restaurants where one can actually have a conversation.
