My friend and I ordered the special and it was delivered a bit longer than it should have taken. The waitress initiated an appropriate apology. Never having been there I was expecting something a little higher quality in the food although it was good. The bill was not itemized so it was hard to know if it was charged correctly but we did not have time to check it out as the delay on food delivery required us to leave to get to our appointments on time. The wait staff was friendly.
With so many places to go we had not been to Table in awhile. After Saturday night we'll be back very soon. Really felt like getting away in all the right ways. Great food. Great service. Elegant atmosphere. Nothing beats well executed French cuisine and they are on their game right now. A tremendous value as well. Food that outpaces more expensive restaurants in Cincinnati and blows away what you can get in other large cities.
We had to wait 30 minutes for our table, and this has happened other times here. Also, is there no valet anymore? That was a little confusing. The food, as always, was excellent and great service.
Going to Jean-Roberts is always a treat for us, and we save it for our anniversary because we find it so romantic and intimate but in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is delightful, the food is superb and we just marvel at the delectable sauces that go on the fish and meat! The wine pairings are so much fun, and always pretty much perfect.
My wife and I are new to Cincinnati and we happened upon this place for our valentine's lunch. It was the best French cuisine we have ever had! Not only was the food great we were able to have a lovely conversation and grueling enjoyed our experience and will be back in sure of it.
Perfection. Service is incredible. They are there when you need them and never intrusive. Food is the best in Cincinnati. Fantastic! The chef is handsome and very hospitable. Mari-lu the matre d was wonderful!
My girlfriend and I came here for her birthday a year ago and returned for our 2 year anniversary. Just like the first time we came, Jean Robert did not disappoint. The balance of flavor in every dish served here is truly impeccable. The service was also great, Jeff was our waiter and he was both attentive and entertaining! We both recommend this restaurant strongly, and look forward to returning again!
no wait.very competent and friendly service. excellent food as always
Eating here is always out of this world. The foie gras is the best thing I have ever eaten. The server was amazing at matching our wine to our food order, and the dessert was stunning.
Jean Robert's is an intimate restaurant that we like for its small size and charming ambiance. In general the food is very good and my most recent visit was largely enjoyable. But two aspects of the evening were not up to my expectations. First, although I don't like to feel rushed while dining there is a line between leisurely service and slow service, and this time the service strayed over that line consistently. The amount of time that elapsed between each stage of the meal from getting drinks, to giving our orders, to receiving the first course, to receiving the second course, and finally receiving the dessert was simply too long. Second, I ordered the beef tenderloin and it simply was not up to my expectations. I ordered medium rare and it was cooked closer to medium and was not flavorful, plus the sauce seemed a bit acidic to me. However, the people I was dining with all enjoyed their food, so it wasn't all bad.
This is one of our favorites. The sauces are superb and everything is usually prepared with care and attention. This time, the Alaskan char (a special) was described as being in sort of a bouillabaise but the fresh fennel didn't do much for this fish and it really was not a soupy like dish, but just a piece of delicate, a bit undercooked char topped with fennel. It needed a richer sauce and a bit more cooking time. My partner's filet was well prepared in a red wine sauce, but the beef itself was lacking flavor. Because we had two different wines and two glasses of wine each plus an appetizer of foie gras which was also lacking, our bill was substantial . I usually leave JR well satisfied but unfortunately not this time.
Beautifully prepared and carefully served food was matched by a knowledgeable waitperson who provided exceptional service.
Everything was perfect. Friends from out of town love their experience here.
We have dined at Jean Robert's Table a few times. Each and every time the food and service was outstanding. If you want a wonderful meal of world class food and great service, go to Jean Robert's Table.
A must if you are visiting Cincinnati - those of us who live here already know - it is simply fabulous
We always have a wonderful time at Jean Roberts! The food is fabulous & never disappoints.
Staff was accommodating and friendly as well as knowledgeable about food and wine choices. Food was excellent!
This is always a good place to go. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
The food was not as good as previous visits.
Lovely for a winter lunch with your best friend!
We had an excellent six course meal that was delicious and went together really well. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation.
I took my wife for a nice dinner to this place. We have tried pretty much every good restaurant in Cincinnati and wanted something different. We both were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant feels cozy and the food is top notch. The Foie Gras is a great appetizer to share and out of this world. The portions are not huge but just about right. The waiter knew his trade and was a great help explaining and choosing the best option. We also ordered a bottle of Rose which was delicious and not overprized. I will definitely take my wife to this restaurant again. I can highly recommend it!
Interesting menu w many specials. Food creative & well prepared. Nice selection of wines. Great servee
Been to the restaurant many times. Food was inferior. Not cooked properly and ribs were tough. First time we were disappointed in the restaurant. Doubt we would return.
Great lunch spot for our trip downtown. Calves liver was fabulous!!
Stumbled across the lobster/champagne four course menu. Outstanding all around. I typically am disappointed at pairings for different reasons but this work hit all the right notes. And as always, the service was tremendous. Just a great dinner.
It was a snowy evening and walking in instantly felt cozy and inviting. Waiter was first rate - -friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not oppressive. Food was excellent. Wine too. Great pictures on the walls.
Jean Robert's Table is a unique restaurant in Cincinnati featuring well crafted and prepared French cuisine service by an attentive and professional staff. The waiter was helpful in selecting wines that would pair well with the entrees.
Loved it. Warm, welcoming and delicious on a cold winter Cincinnati night.
