Jean-Robert's Table Ratings and Reviews
Not one of our best visits. We eat here often before a show and we have had better meals. My Lamb trio special was salty. I mentioned it to the waiter and received a "I'll let the kitchen know". I should of sent it back but didn't. My wife had the scallops on the menu, it was good but not one of her better experiences.
Excellent food in a sophisticated, relaxing atmosphere. This was our first time dining at Jean-Robert's Table and it was worth every penny! The service was attentive without being suffocating. Perfect place to dine before Finding Neverland. We will definitely be back.
Starting with the waiter it was obvious this would be a good dining experience. He was friendly but not overly so, and very knowledgeable about the wine and dinner menu. His wine recommendation was spot on with our tastes. The entrees were specials that night. The first was traditional style escargot, which was good. The other was primarily a fore gras pattie and pistachio macaroon, and it was truly difficult to say which was the best part of the entree. Then I had the duck breast, which was cooked to perfection and complimented perfectly with the risotto and leeks. My wife had the bacon wrapped salmon and polenta, which was also outstanding. We capped it off with the chocolate mousse and a chocolate macadamia taste, both of which were decadent and a perfect completion to an outstanding meal. To paraphrase General MacArthur, we shall return.
We arrived early and were seated right away. However, it was not a very romantic table. There was a large party across from us and we had no view. However, despite that, we had a bubbly, attentive waitress and a knowledgeable wine person. She recommended a bottle of French white wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. The caviar and sauces were superb, as were our meals. We sure spent a lot of money, but had a great time.
What a great find! I was in search of a restaurant close to our hotel so a co-worker and I could relax over a nice dinner. The crowd was eclectic, food and service fantastic, and decor was quirky and fun. Hoping business or pleasure brings me back to Cincinnati soon so I can visit again.
Very authentic food, well presented, healthy, fine, satisfying, multiple layers in tastes, great ambiance, professional staff. My second experience fine dining at Jean-Robert restaurants, which were both the highlights of my multiple fine dining experiences over the years.
Outstanding! The menu offered exquisite options making selection difficult but fun. As each dish arrived at the table the “wow”s were audible, portions perfect, presentations beautiful and flavors inspired. Wait staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. World class sauces and preparation. Wonderful dining experience.
We were visiting Cincinnati for the weekend. We found this restaurant through Open Table and were extremely happy that we did. The food and service were outstanding yet reasonably priced. We waited at the bar for our table and had a very pleasant conversation with the bar tender who knew what she was doing to be sure.
I wish that this place was in Chicago so that we could become regulars.
I have to say, I just love this place. It's elegantly casual. The artwork is playful and I especially enjoyed the portraits of animals in chef hats if that gives you any idea! I judge a restaurant first on its bread...Mouth watering French bread and butter here. We accepted another basketful when offered...couldn't resist. The menu is simple and chef always has something special that evening. My tomato salad with creamy goat cheese was simple, yet I'd be hard pressed to duplicate it at home. My halibut was served over a most flavorful combo (I'm sure there's a more approapriate word for that) of gnocchi, fresh corn, fava beans, and a burst of cherry tomatoes. Again, simply delicious, and might I add, piping hot like a dish should be served. My wife's filet and mushroom sauce was equally delicious. We shared a mousse dessert which was wonderful, but I wish chef would bring back Pots de Creme! Wine selections are always French and always fine selections at a reasonable price. And we had a leisurely dinner and finished in time to make an 8:00 show. We live an hour away but I can't wait to come back and bring friends.
