Another superb experience at Jean-Robert's table. Two of us ordered the famous lobster salad (no Cracker Jack added until baseball season begins--whenever that is!), and for entrées, I had the filet cooked to perfection over a bed of polenta with a red wine sauce; the other two ordered the coq au vin and steelhead trout, both of which were tender and perfectly seasoned.
This is one of the few restaurants that has maintained its quality in food preparation and service over the years, with well-curated wine list. You can order at any price point you wish and be assured that you will drink a quality wine. Jean-Robert's Table is our preferred restaurant in Cincinnati, and once the current pandemic passes, we will return to support it.
The food presentation and food was excellent. The service was outstanding.
As usual, the food and service was fantastic. Affordable too. This restaurant is a gem.
Our server was very professional and nice. The food was excellent and wine was excellent!
Really did not enjoy my experience at all. Waiter was handling all of the tables at lunch time so not able to tend to us quickly. We were one of maybe 4 groups in the space and it took close to 45min to get our order. Just seemed a little out dated and was disappointed at the poor experience we had.
The food is always wonderful and delicious at Jean-Robert's Table. Service is great. Usually the noise level is moderate. We were first seated at a table near a large group of diners who were have such a good time that the noise-level was much higher than usual. We requested being moved to a table where we could talk to each other. We could still hear the loud diners, yet we could hear each other. Enjoyed our meal!!!
Excellent food, attentive service, great dining experience.
Great food, outstanding service in a energetic setting.
Exceptional food, service, presentation in a relaxed inviting room. We eate at a Michelin restaurants internationally so have pretty high standards. Jean Roberts meets these standards... I had the delightful lobster salad that was everything it should be and then some. Perfectly prepared lobster, delicious dressing and greens. I had the halibut that was perfectly prepared tender and savory on a bed of polenta. Our server was perfection. One of our overall favorite restaurants.
We always choose the 4 course prix-fixe selection and it never disappoints. JR Table is our go to for special occasions. This was a birthday and, as usual, we came away full, mellow and pleased. Even when we are not sure about the menu listings or unusual combinations, the chef surprises and pleases and the servers are so knowledgeable and helpful that we plan to return for our next "special occasion" soon.
Friendly service and reliably good basic French cooking
Great service in a good atmosphere. The menu hasn't changed much but usually the specials are good. Unfortunately, we ran into some issues. There was a small piece of wood in our lobster salad. Then our entrees were under cooked. I went ahead and ate my steak rare, my wife sent her salmon back. It appear they through it back on the grill instead of starting over. I was almost done by the time hers returned. They did kindly comp the salmon and gave us free desert and coffee. Jean-Robert's has been on our "rotation" for theater nights for years, but we will likely take a step back for a while. Which is a shame, but it's all about the food, and the kitchen hasn't rose to the level of the front of the house in the last few visits.
Such a nice atmosphere, great food, and delightful service. All for less than what we expected, too! We will definitely return.
Our food and service were excellent! We were going to the play after dinner and they were sure to get us out on time!
Went before a show, along with many others there that evening. Food was great and service was very good also. We'll be back.
Food was delicious and waiter was awesome. However, we were never served our dinner. We waited an hour after our appetizer was finished with no food before we decided we needed to leave at 10:30pm. We were told someone left the kitchen and that was why there was a delay, but saw every other table received food including those who sat down after us. Although the experience was not great, they were kind enough to comp us for the dinner we ordered and provide us each with a glass of wine. Felt bad for our waiter as it was not his fault. Have heard this is not the first service related issue that has happened here. Still would give it another chance because the food was delicious and the waiter was great.
Our waiter was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. The food was wonderful. Great wine list too!
I go here when I want assurance that I will be served fantastic food and a memorable experience.
The food was good but not exceptional in any way. The foie gras was close to exceptional except for the duck confit which was completely unnecessary ...though an interesting variation...for purists, completely unnecessary.
The river caviar was disappointing at best and definitely not worth the $55/oz.
The escargots were super and cooked to perfection
What was unforgivable was the over cooked Halibut special. Not overly dry but dry enough for a French restaurant.
The skate with lobster sauce was very good.
Most disappointing of all was the Maitre'd who was snooty at best and completley uncalled for in this nice midwestern ciry.
Also out waiter was a little intrusive while not always there when you needed him.
Do not recommend this place unless they dramatically revitalize their methods
Jean-Robert’s is my favorite restaurant in the city and it did not disappoint on Wednesday. Excellent service, incredible food, and the same great experience we have every time we go. I had the fois gras and duck breast, my wife had the lobster salad and the halibut. The overall quality was excellent.
Seamless service, delicious, creative food beautifully presented. Wonderful!
Service was excellent. Food was amazing. Great place to celebrate a birthday.
I've loved Table over the years, though it's clear that the once spectacular bistro has fallen from its past height of glory. Service was atrocious - very few details on food delivery and no specifics provided on wine pairings. We were provided the tasting menu as reference as the waiter did not know the menu. The food from the tasting menu was very good, mostly. The pièce de résistance was the Soufflé, though it was intended to be Crème Brûlée. The main courses were very good, unfortunately the service and unsuccessful attempt of a Crème Brûlée has ruined my outlook for Table and I cannot recommend any longer.
Excellent pre fixe menu, wine pairings and service!
Service and wine recommendations were fabulous. Highly recommend the Halibut (special) and short ribs. Great location for pre-Aronoff meal
Lovely meal and excellent service. Can’t wait to return.
There are no words to describe the beautiful experience we had. Deron was the most amazing host and server. His description of the offerings was artistic and thorough.
The kitchen embraced my vegetarian palate, when oftentimes, vegetarians are treated as a second class citizen in restaurants, but not at Jean-Robert’s Table.
Thank you, for the time, attention and detail to the cuisine, thank you for this rare experience in the Midwest. We were taken away to another place and time; a gift not often offered in these parts.
With grace and gratitude, we thank each of you greatly.
This is my favorite restaurant in all of downtown Cincinnati. The food, service, and ambience are all consistently OUTSTANDING.
Especially enjoy the ambience of JR's Table. Hoped to have lobster bisque, but not available that evening. Waiter very good - a long list of menu items to remember - he knew it all - spoke just a little bit fast (and we have no hearing limitations) We'll be back!!! Thank you
anne is an amazing server. the food was good, especially the house salad, mussels were ok the smoked mussel preparation with fennel had an odd taste. burger is always great, lots of fries!
Service was amazing after the commotion settled (buzzed birthday party right next to our booth). Ann (our waitress) made excellent recommendations: helped us pick a bottle of wine, answered all our questions about the menu items, and helped create a personalized vegetarian (and offered a vegan option as well) meal for me. Will definitely return!
Only con: Restrooms need updated/tidied up a bit.
Excellent food — decor needs updating and the noise level was super high
Fantastic food and experience, service was excellent and we both really enjoyed the evening - will definitely go back for a special occasion.
My wife’s birthday dinner We enjoyed the bar area for a cocktail. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was good and the sauces added a lot of flavor. The restaurant while causal and comfortable still felt like “fine dining “.
First bad experience I’ve had at Table and it’s always been my favorite restaurant in town. Service and delivery of food was unreasonably slow. After a long wait, the soup had chilled off and the salad was blah. Sure hope this was an isolated experience.
Amazing as always! Our server was attentive and knew his wine. The menu is fantastic and the halibut special was delicious! Always top notch!
Very good experience. Would visit again.
The food was by far the best part of the experience. May have been the best meal of our lives. The service was a very close second, as we were fortunate enough to have been served by Anne, who made us feel as though we had been coming in for years. The atmosphere at the restaurant felt like a large group of friends had gathered at a home for a dinner party. The entire staff helped facilitate that feeling.
Jean-Robert's Table is about as close to perfection as you can get, with its combination of quality food, superb wine list (you can't go wrong), atmosphere, and a knowledgeable and helpful staff. This is one of our favorite restaurants. On our most recent visit the filet (medium rare) was cooked to perfection with a delightful brandy cream sauce. My wife had a green salad as tender and sweet as possible, followed by the ravioli. We ordered a bottle of a St. Gregory California Pinot, which was ideal.
