Food and service exceptional as always! Lobster salad was amazing 😋
The service and ambiance was great! Super food!
Our experience was first class from the time we were greeted by the hostess. Our server, Ann, was informative, pleasant, and attentive. The food was superb. The decor and ambience was everything one could hope for. Excellent!
We took new comers to Cincy there for the first time and they/we loved it. The specials were outstanding. Our server knew her wines and explained all the dishes expertly. Our friends even got to meet Jean-Robert. What a treat!
This was a date night for me and my girlfriend. We don't typically seek out French cuisine, but the reviews were very strong so we gave it a try. It fully lived to, even exceeded, our expectations. The food was superb. I had the scallops, my girlfriend had the salmon. Both were sooo fresh tasting, sauces added multiple layers of flavor without obscuring either the natural flavor or texture of the main fish.
The ambiance was very nice, similar to how I remember the few bistro type restaurants I visited when I was in France, but not quite fully the feel that you were in France (which is fine, the experience stands on its own). The space inside is modest, so the sound level from a larger party in the corner was a bit more noticeable than it would have been in other spaces, but even at its most raucous it didn't detract from our enjoyment.
Our server was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and willing to chat about Cincinnati to-dos. He did a great job of managing the balance between accessibility and too much presence. Overall, a really lovely experience and a definite member of the list if you only have a couple nights to enjoy Cincinnati's restaurant scene.
The snail/frog leg duo was "over-conceptualized": the tablespoon of capers overpowered the delicate meat of the frog legs, which had already been compromised by being dipped in batter and deep fried, then set on a bed of a number of julienne of vegetables or condiments and a thin broth. The taste of snail was also "lost" in the casing. The skate, however, was excellent, served with a lovely subtle sauce. The wine, better than average.
A wonderful evening. Loved the hospitality, they made us feel that we were regulars even though this was our first time visiting. Would certainly recommend.
We’ve never had a bad experience at JRT.
Another incredible meal from the kitchen of Jean Robert. Creativity and flavor abounds. Such a gem in the city of Cincinnati!
Wonderful celebration of Beaujolais Nouveau Day. Excellent menu and excellent wine pairings.
We had a delightful evening at JRT and had time to visit with friends we'd not seen in a very long time. Food was absolutely delicious as always. Service was excellent. We were celebrating my birthday a few days late, and I was surprised with a glass of champagne after the meal.
The food was delicious and plated beautifully! The service and ambiance were excellent! A great evening, thank you!
We had a delightful delicious pre theatre meal. Thank you for getting us out in time.
It was a going away business dinner for a team mate and the service, food quality, ambiance - the whole experience was spectacular. Highly recommend. I will be going back!
Yet another wonderful meal. Table never fails to deliver.
Perhaps our expectations were too exalted but somehow this didn’t quite tip for us. In our group of 4 I noticed nobody commented on how much they liked their meal. My wife ordered duck and really didn’t like it. I switched with her (I had skate). She liked that better. I finished the duck but didn’t find it remarkable.
Our waiter was knowledgeable enjoyable & appropriately attentive.
Simply one of the best in the city.
Dishes sauced at the table.
My wife and I greatly enjoyed our dinner at Jean-Roberts Table. It was dinner in honor of Cheryl's birthday for which I was a day late. We have eaten at Jean-Robert's about 5 times before. We were always impressed with the value and service level of the restaurant. Our experience on Wednesday was every bit as good as the past 5 dinners we enjoyed.
I would highly recommend Jean-Roberts to everyone I know.
Ambiance great, service excellent (kudos to server, Jim), food was innovative and delicious, exceptional wine list.
Dining at Jean Robert's Table was, once again, a delightful and delicious experience. Service was flawless. I ordered the skate which I like very much and seldom see on other menues. My friends ordered salmon and pronounced it delicious. We were too full to enjoy dessert.
We took friends here to celebrate a birthday. We’ve visited this restaurant many times and, although the menu is always the same - the preparation was off tonight. Overcooked skate wings/ mussels and undercooked bacon on salmon. Coincidentally, Jean-Robert was not onsite. Still nice ambience and attentive staff who tried to make things right. Just expensive and disappointing.
There is no sign outside so we walked passed the restaurant. When we finally arrived and asked why, they said that French restaurants do not need signs- we should just know where they are - a ridiculous statement to a visitor to the city. The food was truly mediocre. Only excellent item was the creme brûlée. Would not return. Certainly not worth the cost or the attitude for unexciting food.
Our first experience at Table. We split appetizers: a deliciously fresh house salad, sumptuous lobster and pea vol au vent (we kept using the warm French bread to sop up the sauce).
We both chose the entrée specials. She had the halibut on couscous. The one bite I had was amazing. I had the filet on lentils. The lentils were just a bit on the salty side, which masked their naturally, sweet nuttiness. But the filet was a perfect medium rare slice of heaven. Ahhhhhhh!!!
We were absolutely stuffed. So we split the dark chocolate mousse. That was the way to top it all off.
Thank you everyone at Table for sharing with us an extraordinary dining experience.
Excellent food, quite expensive.
Delicious food, excellent attentive service and an interesting wine list.
It was fine but nothing really special. My Halibut entree was very good, and my husband had Scallops which he said were okay. However one person in our party ordered the fillet to be prepared medium and it came out very well done,(no trace of pink at all) and it was visibly dried out. They did offer to bring her another one but by that time we all had our dinners so she went ahead and ate it. It was just a bit surprising that this would occur at this establishment.all and all it was a nice evening and we would go back.
Superb meal and service. We always have a great meal here. Food is unique and excellent. Love the bread! Service is top notch.
Great food and service!
Always good and never disappoints , great business dinner alternative
We brought in our friend from Houston and he was very impressed. The food was fantastic- lobster, escargot, lamb and frog legs were especially good. Lovely wines recommended by our knowledgeable waiter. He was delightfully friendly when we wanted to engage him in conversation.
Prompt seating, wonderful friendly service and excellent food
The restaurant was about half full. We arrived at 6:00pm and left around 8:00pm. The periods of wait between drinks, salads, and dinner. We didn’t even order dessert because it was taking so incredibly long. We timed them and it took 20 mins to bring a drink from the bar. We asked them about it and they said- they are really busy it is coming. If the place was packed, I would understand. It was not packed.
Great place to gather with friends. Casual and friendly service that was at the same time excellent.
The food could be tasted by all of your senses- great dining experience!
We not only recommend JR's Table to everyone, we take our friends and family for any excuse! It's warm, comfortable and the food is wonderful and always dependable. And the service is flawless.
Terrific. Blink night, so focused menu and a lot of folks coming in to just get a drink at the popular bar. JR's food is the best in town and it didn't disappoint. Wine list is better each time we come in. Service was prompt and friendly especially considering the crowd. I had the surf and turf tartar - wonderful mix of flavors and the duck breast. just the mention of those dishes should get you anxious to give JR's Table a try if you haven't been there before or haven't been there recently.
Enjoyed mussels and scallop entree, however service lagged after entree was cleared and we did not have time to order coffee or dessert. Minor detail but should be noted.
After all the hoopla, I was prepared for something special. I was underwhelmed to say the least. First, the French country soup was very bland.. no distinctive flavors. I moved onto the Croque Monsieur as the main
course. Again, very unremarkable. No distinctive tastes. It cried for an artisan bread vs the plain white. My daughter order a smoked trout sandwich which tasted like smoked salmon to both of us. She ordered this because they were out of Niçoise salad at lunch( in a French restaurant??!) the service was spotty having to wave down the waitress a couple of times. Based on what I experienced, if this restaurant was in France, it would be closed
The restaurant has a cool, funky, euro vibe. The waitress was fabulous, however the food was not good. We both had a type of fish, perhaps try something else.
This was a dinner "out" for our anniversary. Our server, Annie, was very good, friendly and attentive. The appetizers we had were excellent. The entres (lamb and duck) were good, but not great. This was not due to the preparation, but rather, the cuts of meat. The duck breast was a bit grissly (sp?), and the rack of lamb ribs were very low on actual meat. The creme brulee' dessert was the best we've had in Cincinnati. A super-thick candied crust on top. Well done!
