Jean Georges Steakhouse - Aria Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Jean Georges, Las Vegas as we were in town for three days and nights of fun! The restaurant did not disappoint. Server Rachel and assistant Ramone were very attentive and seemed genuinely pleased that we were their "clients" for dinner that evening. The food was very good - steaks, grilled asparagus, and delicious hot bread loaf! I would say that the price of the meal was a little startling but it was also very good. I'm not sure we will return because of the price as we have had equally good steaks for less at other Vegas steakhouses.
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here. Service was very prompt & good, just lacked personalization. Food was pressed well, great selection; however, was disappointed with the overall taste. Both of our steaks were very dry (ordered medium rare+). Brussel sprouts were undercooked & lacked flavor & we had a run of the mill baked potato. I enjoyed my Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, at $28 glass, I opted to just the one glass. The restaurant was beautiful, very noisy, not exactly the romantic setting we were hoping for. Overall disappointed.
One of the very worst dining experiences I've ever had--the service was beyond terrible: after waiting nearly an hour, they forgot our salads, and then served the wrong meal to us. When the right food finally came, my steak was not done properly and my companions were nearly finished their meals before mine was served. They kept apologizing but kept screwing up. The manager told us they would comp our desserts and then forgot to bring them. This was so far below Jean-Georges standards it is not to be believed. We were beyond disappointed. All of us are sophisticated diners--from New York and LA. This experience would have been comical if it hadn't been so awful. F minus.
We arrived 18 minutes late for our reservation for 2 due to traffic. (Totally our fault.) A hostess told us that our reservation was canceled after 15 minutes late and told us that we could eat in the bar. I asked how it could be possible for our table to have been given away in the 3 minutes which expired since our reservation was canceled and our arrival. I said I would prefer to leave than eat at a high top in the bar. We were then told to wait at the bar.
After about 2 minutes, another hostess came to show us to “our” table. We walked past numerous empty tables and were led to a horrible table - next to an exit door and a busboy station piled high with dirty dishes. I asked to be seated at one of the many open tables and the hostess agreed.
The food was massively overpriced and generally not good. I had an $82 bone-in, dry-aged NY Strip that was fatty, chewy, and not particularly flavorful. The 4 steak sauces which accompanied the steak compared unfavorably with a bottle of A1. My wife also had a NY Strip for $62 which she said was ten times the price and half as good as a steak she could have purchased from a supermarket.
The wine list was also grossly overpriced and the appetizers mediocre. We passed on dessert to escape from a terrible experience. I could have gone to Shake Shack for a better meal and saved $400. As a customer, I find it galling that restaurants seem to think it is okay to treat people poorly, overcharge them, and ruin their dining experience.
I would avoid this restaurant at all costs.
By far my worst dining experience while I was in Las Vegas (and I ate a wide variety of food including McDonalds, Dennys, l,atelier and Guy Savoy). The only good thing about my experience was the kind faced friendly gentleman who brought the sauces for the steak. The rest was an absolutely terrible experience. The server for our table offered us the wine and spirits menu (which we said no thank you to), then proceeded to never ask us again if we wanted anything else to drink except the glass of water we received. When it was time to order, she took one persons order then proceeded to take the menus and walk away without taking my order (by this point I had given up on the experience and decided not to order anything and just hope that my husbands food would be good as it was apparent the service was going to be terrible). The server came and filled my water once and then proceeded to slam the glass on the table, I said thank you and attempted to make eye contact and she just stomped away. At this point, we were hoping my husbands $87 steak would be amazing and live up to the hype of this place. Unfortunately it didn't. He ordered a 12 oz medium rare. The steak came rare and cold (it was sliced so no excuse for screwing this up and thinking it could have been medium rare). The steak was also chewy. The asparagus was good, but part way through finishing it, our server came by and said excuse me as she grabbed our cutlery and our plate of food and walked away with it before we were done. The fois gras appetizer was pretty good, but the beet salad was terrible (overly saucy and not a great flavour). Ultimately this place felt like it was a bar that happened to serve steak and we were really hoping for an amazing steak. Skip this place and try somewhere else like Gallaghers in New York New York where you will get much better service and food.
Service was disappointing considering the price of food. We arrived on time for our 8pm reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated it took a long time for our waiter to come and take our order and food service was slow. Steaks were good, and we enjoyed our truffle mash potatoes. But overall, wouldn't come back. It was very loud, it was hard to hear other people on the table speak. Also it was quite hectic, waiters rushing around everywhere - it was clear they were working at capacity but we expected better services for the prices we were paying.
loved this restaurant from the moment we walked in! when we first got seated our table was in the center which didn't seem intiment for an anniversary dinner. I asked to move to a more private table and they immediately accommodated us. we got a drink at the bar while we waited just a couple minutes for our table. server was awesome - so kind. food was amazing. we asked for small oysters and they ran down to a different restaurant just to get us the freshest ones!
Took out 7 people for a business dinner. The cocktails were great when they were actually delivered. I really don't mind overpriced restaurants if the quality and service commensurate, but here this is not the case. It is over priced for the sake of it and everything else does not synch. 70 dollars for a 1 lb lobster that was overcooked and mushy was absurd. Then I had the 265 dollar tomahawk ribeye, which was nice, but not 265 dollars nice. Sides were standard, nothing remarkable and all around 20 dollars. Carbone next door in the Aria is a far, far, far better choice. Avoid this restaurant. Lame service. Lame all together.
