Love this place
Service, food and ambiance was excellent!! Our server was excellent. Courses were perfectly timed!
We always have a great experience here. The food and service is excellent. We love having Kate as our server. She does her job so well and is very nice!
The food was good. Not enough non Cajun choices. I would have ordered much different if I could have had plain Bernaise sauce instead of Cajun Bearnaise cause. Or ribs done with out the Cajun rub prior to cooking. Instead I had to order off of the Appetizers menu for my meal because there I could get plain Pig Wings. Maybe some pasta without Cajun spices, that too would be awesome. We loved the relish dish, and the chips! Hash browns rocked, Mac and Cheese, delish! The pork chop, thick and juicy! The table bread should come with a warning, " wonderfully sinful, garlic and buttery". Thanks for a nice evening.
Awesome service and food as always!!! Attentive staff and Pat is a great host!
Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. Prices are definitely affordable. Not too fancy, where you'd have to dress up just to eat. Would absolutely visit JD Hoyts again.
We attended for Valentines Day great seating privacy yet in. N open space owner came to table to check our meal. Server friendly didn’t hover but attentive free valet service!!! Food was great!!!
An old staple Great choices for fish or meat entrees.
Great restaurant for meat lovers; has a good selection of dishes, but meat is their specialty. Comfortable, not ostentatious. Everyone on the staff was friendly and eager to help.
First night of a Mnpls weekend. It was cold out so we walked from the hotel in the skyway to one block from the restaurant.
We were seated immediately. Great wine list.
Pork shank app was unbelievable.
We both ordered the 8oz filet and they were amazing. Especially for the price.
Easy uber back to hotel after meal.
Will make this an every trip stop.
My steak was one of the best I've ever had. My husband had the scallops and they were also really good. Terrific, personal service. A fun "old school" experience!
Favorite restaurant in the city - daughter wanted to go for dinner to celebrate her birthday. A+ food and service as always!
We were taken care of absolutely as well as possible. All was great.
Bloody Mary’s not so great but everything else was fine!
Ribeye steak was cut too thin. Chef could not grill the outside hot enough to even show grill marks and keep medium rare. Prime rib was a bit charcoaled on the outside and this overwhelmed the taste of the meats. Sides were awesome - risotto and penne pasta.
My number one favorite restaurant in Minneapolis! Mega prime rib is my favorite go to, but right up there are the rest of their steaks pork chops catfish and ribs!
Always excellent service-a great comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. It’s like dining with family!
Had an early dinner and drinks before a pre Superbowl event. Great atmosphere and the food, as always, was fantastic. We have been going here for years and it never disappoints.
Food was marginal, had alot of toilet time the next day. I had the ribs/pork chop combo and the garlic mashed. Shrimp was not good. Must be the reason Red Cow is doing well.
Great meal, service, atmosphere as usual. I brought past Viking Super Bowl QB Joe Kapp and his son and told them I’d put my reputation on the line that they’d love Hoyt’s. Pat and crew lived up to my billing for them, and the Kapps are eager to return.
Everyone except me was a first time diner at JD Hoyt’s. They lived it is much one purchased a gift card and another is being back her spouse.
The food is always great and the service is always outstanding! Fun spot in downtown.
Service was a bit slow, but overall everything was really good. Everyone was super friendly and applogetic. Lobster tacos were amazing!
JD Hoyt's is one of our favorite places to dine in the Twin Cities, and we are foodies who like to dine out a lot. The menu is mostly basic steakhouse; really really good .. with a few surprises, but the staff is what makes this place special. From the guys who park your car through the final smile and "goodbye", their friendliness and teamwork has been top notch every time we've dined. No matter how busy or quiet, and whatever the time of evening, these people make us feel completely welcome and appreciated. Somehow I usually end up building around a pork chop as the centerpiece of a meal, but other main dishes are excellent as well. We highly recommend JD Hoyt's!
We have been here before and enjoyed our food. We had the pork chops again, a medium buddy bowl, mashed potatoes and a sweet potato. The chops are very thick with a cajun seasoning cooked on a fire grill. We have had these before and they were delicious at that time. This time my pork chop was rare near the bone and dry towards the outside. I didn't notice any flavor at all. I only ate a small part of it because it just wasn't enjoyable. The buddy bowl was good, but nothing fantastic. The service was slow which was unusual as well. For almost $100 for two people without dessert we were underwhelmed this time.
This was my first time at JD Hoyt's, but I loved it and will for sure be back with friends.
wonderful as always! AMAZING staff, INCREDIBLE food and the best jazz playlist around!
Came here before attending a show at The Guthrie. Unbelievable that they provide valet parking for $5! Everything from the service to the food was exceptional. Can't wait for my next trip to Minneapolis. Will definitely come here again!~
Great food, best prime rib ever.
Never pass up an opportunity to stop here.
One of my Minnie favorites.
This is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. The food never disappoints and the service is spot on. The owner, Pat, makes everyone feel like a regular.
