Great Service...Jodi was very helpful and did a great job guiding us thru our dining experience!
Amazing service and great food!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Staff very friendly. Warm inviting atmosphere. Great place
Great service, great food! Enjoyed our evening!
Great place to eat!!! Love the environment staff is always friendly....however this visit I was not impressed with our server. Maybe she was having a bad day-we all have them. Outside of this it was Great and the food is always on point!
JD Hoyts is one of my Minneapolis favorites! The hospitality and friendliness of the host, staff, and fellow clientele is warm and inviting. The food is flavorful and well executed. You can't go wrong with a buddy Bowl, pork chop, steak or anything Cajun seasoned on that menu. Will be back time and again.
As always the food and service were excellent. Everyone makes you feel as if you’re at home. Keep up the good work
Food and the service were very good! Loved the fact that the manager came around to all the tables and was very engaging with the diner’s experience!
In my opinion the TVs in the main dining room take away from the ambience.
A Twin Cities institution that stays focused on what they do best. My favorite steak house by far and I've been coming here more than 30 or their 35 years and counting.
Husband and I come here at least once a year. Every time it's wonderful. Great service and amazing food. My favorite is the Cajun Beef Tips and Sweet Potato....yum yum
Our new favorite place, will be coming back the next we come to the cities from Bismarck!
WE always like going to JD Hoyts for happy hour or just dinner. Always good food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. We especially like the catfish even though it is a bit overpriced. It's consistently crisp, flaky and good. Have been here for Dining Out for Life, Lavender first Thursdays, anniversary dinners, or just date night. Great Place!
The food was scrumptious and the service was excellent. We will definitely return.
The steaks cannot be beat. Unfortunately, the sides were so disappointing, they detracted from the steak. The vegetable medley that is served with the steak had so much fresh garlic that it overwhelmed the steak and was inedible. The first time we came to JD Hoyts (about 6 mos ago) we had a wonderful experience. We went this time to celebrate my son's birthday and were embarrassed by the experience.
Usually yes but we were so sad this last time. It’s ok though sometimes I guess it just isn’t good
Service was great, and the food was excellent as always. I've never been disappointed with food or service at JD Hoyts.
Fun place for a nice dinner.
Another great family gathering at Hoyts - some things never change and that is a good thing! Kudos to Pat and his team for pulling it off every time. Thank you!
Excellent service and very delicious food. Drinks were made to perfection! Very excited to return again soon.
Our server didn’t do what she was suppose to do. We had to keep asking others to do things for us. I’m not sure if it was because we were a guaranteed tip since it was 7 of us or the we are black. She barely attended to us and kept forgetting things we asked for. VERY unacceptable and I doubt I would be back.
We had a great dinner but our service could have been better. Our waitress did not ask us if we had been there before, read us the specials and in general was not overly friendly. We heard all of this happening at the tables around us but not from our waitress. We were there to celebrate our anniversary so it would have been nice to have an overall great experience rather than having to say, "Yes the food was great but the service was ok"
The restaurant was not crowded, but our server was somewhat inattentive. We had to ask her come over and take our order.
Everything is very good except the cocktails. Small and overpriced.
The only reason it’s not a 5 across the board is it was a home game and lots of football fan pre-game noise (that I’m not used to). We’ll be back for sure.
It was ok. Kind of over priced overall unless you get a giant chop. We had the cheese bread app which was tasty but small for two people to share. I got a steak and it came with a few barely steamed veggies. My friend got one of the special steaks and it came with veggies and hash browns on a giant plate all piled with food. She enjoyed her dinner more. One app, two steak dinners, one lower priced bottle of red- $170.
The place is a little dated but charming. Itwas very bright and clean especially the bathrooms. I’d go back and order differently. Spend a little more and get double the servings.
Service was excellent waitress very attentive
Food was very good got free dessert for my daughters birthday always recommend it to friends and family thanks to management and
Still love that place. Great steaks, although a bit on the pricey side. Nice atmosphere and once again fantastic service.
I host many business dinners here and Hoyt's never disappoints! I feel that you receive a great value for the money. Pork chops really are the best in the Twin Cities. I often order the lobster tail and love the flavor on that. Other faves are pig wings, jamaican onion rings and banana dessert.
This was amazing as always, I absolutely love this place the food is so good and the staff is so amazing they always make sure everything Is up to 5 star standards, I would highly recommend this place.
Loved our whole
Experience but wish the dinner music could have been a little quieter. It was difficult to have a conversation.
We have been coming to Hoyt’s for the vet 30 years and have never been disappointed by Pat and his wonderful team.
Was in Minneapolis to celebrate my grandson's 19th birthday & his favorite is prime rib. Was sure it said on the menu that the cajon seasoning was "on request". It sure tasted like it was added to our meat which made our cuts seem dry & crisp. Also the prime rib was overcooked & tough.
Would definitely not recommend your restaurant or come back.
Best restaurant in Minneapolis by far. Great steaks. I had the scallops which were delicious. I also had the sweet potato which was huge and spectacular. I am gluten and lactose intolerant. They will make to order. I come here every visit to Minnesota. Awesome service to boot.
Great food, good drinks and the service was wonderful--highly recommend to those Minnesotans who have yet to visit our gem.
Pat provides excellent service and food as always!
Had an awesome birthday dinner. Spaulding steaks, prime rib, pork chops, ribs, salmon special, chicken & potato soups, wedge salads, buddy bowl, cornbread, loaded hashbrowns, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, wine and cocktails. Wanted to have dessert but we were all too full. Thank you Pat for starting our evening with such a warm welcome. Thank you also Jodi for stopping by our table and saying hello. Always great to see you! The service was excellent as always from start (Parker our server) to finish (valet service).
Anytime out of town guests come to visit, we make a stop at JD Hoyts. Like the selection so the big meat eaters can get what they like but the seafood and veggie lovers are happy too. Drinks and wine selection are excellent. Wait staff is especially good...and most have been there a long time and know how to make it a memorable adventure.
I like the table next to the grill, but, that one is hard to get. Atmosphere is always festive.
I don’t know if the server had too many tables but that was the only bad thing about our experience. Food was excellent and the ambiance was great. I would have preferred not to sit by the door but I will blame my wife for that. We will definitely be back and hopefully we will have a server that’s a little more attentive.
Buddy bowls are awesome. Fill it with catfish and shrimp and cheese bread. Outstanding meal
