Best restaurant in Minneapolis by far. Great steaks. I had the scallops which were delicious. I also had the sweet potato which was huge and spectacular. I am gluten and lactose intolerant. They will make to order. I come here every visit to Minnesota. Awesome service to boot.
I don’t know if the server had too many tables but that was the only bad thing about our experience. Food was excellent and the ambiance was great. I would have preferred not to sit by the door but I will blame my wife for that. We will definitely be back and hopefully we will have a server that’s a little more attentive.
Buddy bowls are awesome. Fill it with catfish and shrimp and cheese bread. Outstanding meal
Excellent food, service. Everything was great. Small glitch with delay of meal for one in our party of 7. Other than that totally wonderful.
It’s our favorite spot. The filet is amazing!
Great service great food. Her first time there but we will be coming back.
Great food and service as always!
Jody was fantastic. She engaged with our family and made feel great about the experience. JD Hoyt’s is fantastic as always. Great food and fantastic service!
Wish I could remember her name but our server was wonderful. It was my fiances birthday and everything was great!
Prime rib was extremely tough. Waitress preferred socializing with the other waitresses than waiting on us. Because of their poor service we were late for the Ballet... never had this happen before... very disappointed!
our server Parker was outstanding. Their Cajun Pork Chop is the best. Topped a great meal off with some excellent Sebastian Joes ice cream
JD Hoyt's I would consider a hidden gem. Service is truly one of a kind and the food is fantastic! Quality food for a not overpriced spend.
Annie is the best!
Enjoyed the pictures
Quite enjoyed the meal and great service. The pork chop was a bit too charred for me, but lovely meal overall.
Prime rib had no flavor (1st time we have not liked Prime Rib at a restaurant). Baked potato and Hash Browns were only good items. Asparagus very thin, and Strawberry shortcake not good. First time there - because of high price and not that great of food - will not return. Many other places in Minneapolis to go for good Prime Rib.
Open Table was great - got in on time!
We were late for our revised reservation, they got us seated immediately, and the food came out quickly.
We ordered full racks of ribs, they were much drier than normal, crusty and over cooked I would say.
Veggies are frozen, not great, loved the bread as usual. Service was super great, stunning waitress named Ann, did a great job. We didn't complain about the ribs under the circumstances.
Hoyt’s is one of my favorite restaurants; expectations are high and it was not delivered Friday night.
Service was not up to par; food was late in coming and when delivered, the hash browns were cold.
Maybe it was a bad night but I was not pleased with the efforts
It was our anniversary and noted on the reservation, no one even acknowledged it>
Great food, great atmosphere, great location. Can't wait till I get to go again.
Restaurant wasn’t very busy yet service was very slow. What should’ve been an hour dining experience was stretched to over two hours and with a small child in tow that is too long. Food was just ok, nothing to rave about. Had never been here before so had to try it but can say it will get crossed of my list of go to places.
Warm atmosphere, expert service, excellent food
French Topast to die for.
Parking and Ride to the game prefect.
Don't order the prime rib if you want it rare.
This is a great place for a special night or when you want to treat clients to a thank you dinner.
Our reservation was spot on, seated immediately, served immediately.
The servers know their business, the food is outstanding and the owner was present that night.
He went so far as to give us a tour and explanation of his various, unique art pieces throughout the restaurant.
Upscale restaurant with a hometown feeling.
Unfortunately our food was over cooked. Ambiance was good and the staff gives great service. More of a place to grab a drink vs. eat.
Excellent dining experience. A must stop when in Minneapolis
My experience: Jody, our server was super nice and attentive. The food was underwhelming. The calimari rings were overcooked and rubbery. My 8oz. filet of beef was a poor cut and flavorless, not the melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness like it should have. The pigs wing was good, as was the complementary cheesey bread. The wood charcoal grill sounded like a neat idea but it gave my meat an odd taste. The floor manager came by asking if our meal was ok and i told him yes everything was fine. I don't like to send food back to the kitchen but in this case i should have. I will note that the beef was cooked perfectly to med. rare.
Was our first visit and can’t wait to return! Excellent food and service... would highly recommend making JD Hoyt’s your number #1 choice for downtown Minneapolis dining!
Everything on the menu if fabulous, the staff is tremendous, and the prices are very fair. Arguably the best restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. The pork chops are thick & juicy. The prime rib finished on their charcoal grill is different than prime rib anywhere else (and better!). All the sides are really good, and if you are able to save room for dessert, they may be the highlight of your meal!
Won't be going back. Service was non-existant - food was fair at best - prices are WAY to high. Place is nice and ambiance is good, but don't be fooled. Don't say you weren't warned...
I’ve been to Hoyt’s several times over the last 2 years and very disappointed in the food this time. Also, the wine list changed and so did the prices.
Service was good.
Good, standard food, large portions and our server was very welcoming and accommodating.
Got our table right on time. Server was very friendly, she was busy but, she made us feel like we were her only people to take care of. If we are back in the area we would make it a point to dine here again. The portion were more than enough.
JD Hoyts never disappoints! Excellent food and service from our favorite waitress Courtney!
I can’t say enough good things about this place! The service was great and the ribs were probably the best I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the price tag.
Fantastic service as always along with great food! I always choose JD Hoyt's as a go to restaurant for great food and drinks served by friendly people in a fun environment!
Jodi who waited on us did an awesome job!
The most amazing steak we’ve ever had. And our server was fabulous!!
Felt like the meat was a little over done for my taste but overall was really enjoyable. Service was exemplary. Will be back!
Love the charcoal scent as you enter. Delicious chops as always.
