JCT Kitchen and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Excellent meal and service. The Angry Mussels and Brussel sprouts were oustanding, and are a must-have for all. Was not impressed with Wine List, but the bottle we ended up ordering fit the meal. Our server was top- notch and great with the menu, and catered to our requests, by being attentive but not overbearing. If had it to do over I would not have ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries, not because they were not wonderful, but it was just too much food, and I was not able to order a dessert. If you have not been you need to make it a priority. 👍🏻
The food and service were amazing at the upstairs, outdoor bar. However, it was 50 degrees outside and our intention was to eat inside for our 7:15PM reservation. When we arrived at 7:10, the host said they were still seating the 7PM reservations and that we could wait - They would text me when our table was ready. By 8:45PM, we had 2 rounds of drinks and 3 sets of appetizers. No one ever texted me about a table being ready. Glad everything worked out upstairs. However, if it had not, the evening would have been very frustrating.
Server was excellent: Sydney. Hostess was awful: long, dark hair & glasses-did not read OpenTable detail & annoyed when I asked for those details to be honored, didn’t check us in under reservation, etc. Minor compared to consistently excellent meals there. We had truffle fries, Angry Mussels, Chicken & Dumplings (always amazing) & Agnolotti (mouth watering). A Negroni & Westside Sour rounded out the meal. A splurge for us but ALWAYS worth the drive & cost.
What a great experience. Our server, Tara, was so informative and was really instrumental in helping us decide on our dishes for the evening. We split the deviled eggs which were amazing, a seasonal salad and the friend chicken which was absolutely the best we’ve had in ATL!!! Not that we needed it, but we split the peanut butter tart which was to die for!! Would highly recommend JCT Kitchen to anyone looking for an outstanding dinner experience.
I travel to Atlanta fairly frequently, and love new-southern / modern southern cuisine. JCT may be the best fried chicken I have had (at an upscale restaurant) ever. The chicken was juicy, the biscuits were perfect. The food was excellently prepared. The Brussels sprouts were done very well. The ambiance of this place was great. We had appetizers (the angry mussels were fantastic - I asked for additional grilled bread to soak up the remaining broth). Wish I had saved room for dessert. Will definitely come back.
We had a great experience at JCT on Saturday night. We had friends visiting from Boston and wanted to give them a great local experience. There was some confusion over our reservation time, but the host quickly accommodated us. Our server, Chelsea, was fabulous, and brought out an extra app for us since we had out-of-towners. She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and really made our night. The food was excellent!! Oysters, mussels, and deviled eggs to start. The bread and butter were to die for. And all of our mains--fried chicken, meat and potatoes, and chicken and dumplings--were delicious. The fried chicken was probably the favorite! Oh, and the cocktails. Unique and superb! One was even from their non-alcoholic list that they went ahead and made a true cocktail for us. My only minor complaint is that the place is loud--but that's typical for a popular Atlanta eatery I suppose! All in all, a five star meal. Everyone was still raving about it the next day.
Everything was excellent w crept the very rude hostess. We started off negative but our outstanding waitress Lauren and the delicious food made up for the negative start at the hostess stand. We had the squash soup and scallops and best of the ribeye for entrees.
I was in town at a conference and this restaurant was recommended to me as a place to take my business associates. The food was fabulous. There were six in our party and everyone loved the dishes they ordered. We started with deviled eggs and truffle fries. Yum! Members of our group had the pork chop, shrimp and grits, the sweet potato agnolotti, the sea scallops and the rib eye. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and commented on how fresh everything tasted. By far the best restaurant I ate at in Atlanta. The noise level was quite high, but we weren't talking business, so it was fine for us. All six in our party would highly recommend this restaurant.....Enjoy!
We decided to try their menu to celebrate the pregnancy of my cousin. I loved the atmosphere. So beautiful and full of laughter. Lighting was perfect. Our waitress was amazing, helpful, and had an awesome personality. We ordered salads and an Entree. The kale salad was beyond amazing. The fried chicken was delicious. Will definitely return.
Recently ate here for a business lunch and had a great experience. The service was quick and friendly, food was delicious (as always), and the staff didn't rush us out after we finished eating and had moved on to business conversation. Overall, a great midday lunch outing and good spot to take clients.
I had heard wonderful things about JCT -- always a staple or go-to for special occasions or special dinner outings. My first time going even though the restaurant has been around for a while and sadly was very disappointed in the service. Our waiter was very unattentive to basic needs such as refilling water, making sure we had butter with the bread, etc. In addition, the food service was just as unattentive. No condiments came out with our oysters, the meals were spread very far apart (1 out of 4 meals came out first about 10 mins apart from the rest), and the sides of mac-n-cheese, as well as the fried chicken were cold. The food overall was good but the lack of attention to service really led to an unpleasant meal experience. Hoping this was just an off night - I would be willing to try it again in hopes that this was not the usual dining experience.
My wife and I went to JCT Kitchen for their Sunday prix fixe dinner. It was quite crowded and we waited about 5-10 minutes standing in the bar. We were seated in the dining area near the windows (they do have outdoor seating as well) and promptly given a run down of the menu. I ordered the fried chicken and my wife ordered blackened trout. Service was a bit spotty to start with the server having to retake our order for some reason which delayed things a bit. (She was in training so no big deal.) I ordered a bottle of "The Date" win, a sauvignon blanc, which was unusually full bodied and delicious. The fried chicken and sides were all prepared southern style and very tasty. My wife greatly enjoyed her trout but did said it was quite spicy. Overall a pleasant Sunday evening out at JCT Kitchen.
