I often take client's to JCT for business lunches, however, I love this place so much we often go for happy hour and dinner. The food is delicious and creative. I would recommend this place for any occasion.
There were 6 of us. We were taken to a table right by the server’s station and by a door leading outside where there were diners. We asked for another table away from the station and door so it would be a little quieter. It was 1:45 so the restaurant was very open. The server/floor manager was a little perturbed and tried to sell us on the original table. We politely asked if they could put a few tables together in another area. She did so but then when we thanked her, she wouldn’t look at us or even respond. She filled water and dropped the menus down. Then when our friends arrived deviled eggs and truffle fries arrived at the table. I thought it was a very nice offering to us and we thoroughly enjoyed them! We enjoyed our lunch and spoke enthusiastically about State Of Grace opening in Austin and another opening in Nashville as our friends are from Austin and moving this summer to Nashville. When our check arrived we were charged for the fries and deviled eggs that we didn’t even order. We payed and left but it didn’t sit well with us. The woman that had them delivered to our table was no longer on the clock so we didn’t feel comfortable about asking our server about them in front of our guests. Anyway, this is a very long story! Will we go back to JCT? Absolutely!!! We love it! It was just an unfortunate experience but it didn’t ruin our lunch.
I'll start by say we love JCT. We probably eat there at least once every couple of weeks. Heck, I was there on Friday for lunch with my daughter. This Sunday supper was not the best. The pasta in the mac and cheese was wayyyy overcooked. The flavor was excellent but the pasta was so mushy it was almost like mashed potatoes. The shrimp and scallop etoffee was also not the best. A bit on the bland side. But the service was great as usual and the rest of the dishes were good. The fried chicken is always a good bet and the roasted root veggies were excellent.
JCT kitchen has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The ambiance is of an old time restaurant set back in the 30's-40's.. with a coastal flair. The food here does not disappoint, and their fried chicken is some of the best in ATL. My husband and I dined here on Sunday, where they offered their "Sunday Supper" which is a prix fixe menu. We started with the biscuits & apple butter, then moved on to the Deviled eggs which had a nice dijon mustard yolk. That also included a salad which a medley of butter lettuce, pickled vegetables and a sweet vinaigrette dressing. We also each had a cocktail, my husband opting for the "Hunger Talk" which proceeds benefit hunger in the atlanta homeless community. I got the Top Side, but later on also got a Hungr Talk. It appears that drink is not always on their regular menu, but the Top Side is. For entree's my husband got the famous fried chicken and boy we can see why! I got the shrimp and scallop etouffee, similar dish to their traditional shrimp and grits.. but served over rice instead. For the sides we had the macaroni and cheese, duck fat aioli fingerling potatoes & the winter vegetables.. all delicious. For dessert we had the passion fruit tart.. which is not a normal dessert option, but was very light and refreshing. I highly highly recommend JCT, we will for sure be back for more!
We had an 8:45 pm reservation, but not seated till 9:30... it’s truly unfortunate since I’m a Ford Fry fan... Ultimately Winny our server made the rest of our experience tolerable, but the front of house needs desperate training.
Please note that the more you state the term “my apologies” over and over again without a resolution to the problem can potentially damage the relationship between you and the inconvenienced customer. Listen, emphasize and resolve the issue is my suggestion to your front of house staff.
I can’t imagine dining at JCT again for quite some time to be honest for that embarrassing situation will stay with me for a bit.
I do however appreciate the recovery efforts.
The food was delicious!! Lauren, our server, was AMAZING!!! Her menu suggestions were spot on!! The coconut rum cake for dessert is a must have!!
JCT is one of my favorite restaurants. Centrally located in west midtown, great access to self-parking and valet, in a safe and vibrant Atlanta community. I’ve invited at least 3 or 4 guest to join me for dinner at JCT and every time I’ve enjoyed the food, ambiance and experience. My last visit was great with the exception of a missed menu item... the banana pudding is AMAZING and I was really disappointed that it wasn’t on the menu. Other than that, it was a great visit and we learned an interesting fact: JCT = JUNCTION. :)
Always a delightful experience. Food and service is one of the best in Atlanta.
Great dining experience.....wait staff was outstanding.............Menu was exceptional with a great take on southern favorites......
Food was incredible! Service was great! We had a wonderful lunch.
The service was great and the food was delicious! The ambience was perfect for an anniversary dinner!
Karen, our server , was great very personal and attentive
Made reservations for Sunday evening. Didn’t realize JCT does what they call “Sunday Dinner”, which is a fixed menu. It was excellent!! In looking around at other diners, apparently the Fried Chicken is in high demand!
It was best I have had!!!
My best friend came to visit from Philadelphia to take me out to dinner for my birthday, everything was excellent!
Lovely ambience and great place to celebrate a birthday dinner! The drinks and food were delicious. We will we back for more!
A 10 across the board! Outstanding!
Always a good experience. The waitress forgot to bring the bread we asked for but it was still a very good experience as always.
The food was absolutely amazing, and all of the front of house staff was incredibly accommodating and knowledgable. Really excellent service
Great dinner and service.
I love the food!!!!! PCT Kitchen is among my favorite restaurants.
First time at this particular Ford Fry restaurant and it delivered! Great service and very much enjoyed the deviled egg appetizer and oysters over salad. Will be back soon.
It didn’t live up to the hype - service was really slow (took over an hour to get our food) and it didn’t stand out from any of the other upscale southern restaurants around town.
JCT is always one of my favorite dinner spots. Food is awesome and atmosphere is fun :-)
We had a great first visit to JCT and we will definitely be back.
Terrific! Thank you Sue for taking such good care of us. We had a blast and will return
Everything was wonderful! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.
Knowledgeable wait staff, amazing menu. Next time I’m in town, they’ll see my smiling face
Went for a business lunch with two people that have never been and loved it; it is a great business lunch place with courteous wait staff that is knowledgeable. Jasmine took great care of us!! The chef sent over an appetizer to our table as a token of appreciation for the many times I’ve dined here which scored more points for them in my book!
