Jaya at the Setai Ratings and Reviews
Very poor attempt at asian cuisine starting with the random menu, food with no depth of flavour and basic errors such as overcooked rice and food brought to the table cold. Managed to find a reasonable bottle of red wine from the huge menu but sadly brought to the table straight from the fridge. When mentioned to the server he simply agreed and walked off! Also worth noting that smoking is permitted at the table. Cocktails were the only positive of the night out.
Excellent meal, food was delicious and fresh. The ambience was wonderful, picturesque setting with low lighting. Staff were attentive but not pushy. Good wine list and complimentary dessert to share. Prices a little higher but well worth it for the setting and food.
Beyond horrible experience. I went with a friend for lunch. We asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it was served cold and well done (who do I look like, Trump??). Also, it was supposed to be an entre but I would say it was actually appetizer sized. Similarly, the tuna poke had no flavor and had the consistency of rubber. Only good thing was the truffle dumplings. Also the service was insultingly terrible, presumably because gratuity is include. They brought all three courses at once and our cocktails afterwards. Never ever again.
I always loved Jaya at the Setay but, for the first time, I am not giving them five stars.
Food delivery was so slow that it took hours to end dinner and the waiters where kind but they kept forgetting things .
I hope next time it's going to be better
Had a very nice meal here, the Thai beef salad starter was delicious and they made it less spicy for me. My friends main course felt it needed some rice which we asked for extra but otherwise the meals were very good. It did take a while for the food to arrive however
Dined on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration with 5 guests. Got no suggestions from the server and no explanations of any of the items on the menu. The serving staff did not even look us in the face or reply to any of the times we thanked them for serving us or pouring water. The food was good and the portions were great. Even when the plates seemed small, they would satisfy you and be the perfect size. The house drinks were very good.
We came 2 times last year and everything was amazing ! We had a Miami Spice menu with scallopd truffles, delicious asian chicken and wonderful desert. This year, we deeply felt we were annoying the staff with our Miami Spice choices. Food was really poor, very small portions, no flavoyrs, we have been so upset and disappointed!! The italian woman serving us didn t pay attention to us. Did not say good bye ! Seems like the Chief changes as ell as the pomicy of the management this year. We booked at 8:30pm and had to wait 30 mns while the restaurant was nearly empty (((. Will never go back again. There are SOOOO many other restaurants in
miami where having dinner much better !!! We lost 400$ that s it !!! A SHAME.
