Jaya, which means 'victory' in Sanskrit, was chosen by our team to honor of The Setai's renowned interior designer Jaya Ibrahim and the hotel's first decade of successful Asian-inspired hospitality. Jaya at The Setai boasts standout dishes from Thailand, Korea, Indian, China and Japan . Named one of Miami’s “hottest new restaurants,” Jaya incorporates many traditional culinary techniques from wok stations to tandoor ovens. Its menu features bold and modern Asian cuisine with bountiful flavors of turmeric, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, chilies, coconut milk and tamarind; while also presenting longtime Setai favorites including Peking Duck, Naan breads, Indian curries, Tandoor sea bass and Dim Sums.

Yassine Jelena

A bit of background, as I think it adds extra weight in terms of base for comparison and also a sense a perspective.
Every year, my wife and I go to Paris for our birthdays and Wedding Anniversary around the Ides of March. As fate would have it, this time around we were grounded in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic. Restaurant reservations at our favorite Hotel Costes and Buddha Bar were cancelled and we were hard pressed to find a spot in Miami to celebrate.
One of my VIP clients suggested Jaya at the Setai, and we made a reservation on OpenTable. Upon arrival, once Yassine, one of the managers on duty, realized it is our wedding anniversary, went above and beyond to arrange for a special table. We were seated at a lounge booth, in Jelena’s section, directly across from the stage where the amazing show took place. Jelena was an incomparable host, showering us with attention, warmth and hospitality. We were pleasantly surprised to be served champagne and a desert with the words “Happy Anniversary” courtesy of Yassine and Jelena. The food was excellent, highly recommend the truffle dumplings, chicken fried rice and the riceless roll. We are very happy to have found our new favorite dining and entertainment option in the city we live in, which we will make sure to share and recommend to friends and clients. Moreover, Yassine arranged for us to be able to return with the entire family next Friday to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We made sure we requested to be seated in Jelena’s section, we were highly impressed with her sincere hospitality, undivided attention and immediate responsiveness. Even though she had a rowdy 12 top in her section and was in the weeds, our service was impeccable, and we are very picky as we are both in the luxury retail service industry and have set the bar high for ourselves and others. Yassine was a true host, checking on us twice, to ensure all is perfect. Truly satisfied, will be back, and on regular basis. 👍🏻👍🏻
