A bit of background, as I think it adds extra weight in terms of base for comparison and also a sense a perspective.
Every year, my wife and I go to Paris for our birthdays and Wedding Anniversary around the Ides of March. As fate would have it, this time around we were grounded in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic. Restaurant reservations at our favorite Hotel Costes and Buddha Bar were cancelled and we were hard pressed to find a spot in Miami to celebrate.
One of my VIP clients suggested Jaya at the Setai, and we made a reservation on OpenTable. Upon arrival, once Yassine, one of the managers on duty, realized it is our wedding anniversary, went above and beyond to arrange for a special table. We were seated at a lounge booth, in Jelena’s section, directly across from the stage where the amazing show took place. Jelena was an incomparable host, showering us with attention, warmth and hospitality. We were pleasantly surprised to be served champagne and a desert with the words “Happy Anniversary” courtesy of Yassine and Jelena. The food was excellent, highly recommend the truffle dumplings, chicken fried rice and the riceless roll. We are very happy to have found our new favorite dining and entertainment option in the city we live in, which we will make sure to share and recommend to friends and clients. Moreover, Yassine arranged for us to be able to return with the entire family next Friday to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We made sure we requested to be seated in Jelena’s section, we were highly impressed with her sincere hospitality, undivided attention and immediate responsiveness. Even though she had a rowdy 12 top in her section and was in the weeds, our service was impeccable, and we are very picky as we are both in the luxury retail service industry and have set the bar high for ourselves and others. Yassine was a true host, checking on us twice, to ensure all is perfect. Truly satisfied, will be back, and on regular basis. 👍🏻👍🏻
Milo made our anniversary very special
What a wonderful dinner we had at Jaya in the Setai. The day before we had lunch on the beach which was also delicious. The ambiance of the whole property just makes you want to be there. First stop was the bar where we had great cocktails & fresh sushi. Moved to the courtyard area around the reflection pool, the temperature was perfect & the service professional & very helpful. Both meals were perfectly prepared. This dinner was an excellent way to finish out our Miami weekend.
Beautiful setting, solid food.
Extraordinary as always
We have been to this restaurant many times, more recently for the music on a Saturday night, which is exceptional. However, on this occasion it was very very windy and for the first time we sat inside, just past the reception desk. However, there was a continual movement of a trolly down the isle to outside and then back again, which was very noisy, disconcerting, and quite frankly ruined our evening. When we asked we were told it was to take the food outside, so why, therefore, did they not take the trolley down the outside corridor when no one was sat in the dining area. Also, the wait staff were actually hand carrying food outside, so why could not carry all the food. Quite frankly it reminded me of Thoroughly Modern Milly, the movie, and looked more like a coffin being wheeled out than food. If my only option was to sit inside then I would not eat at Jaya again.
Their outdoor/indoor environment is excellent in the era of corona virus.
They would get a perfect rating from me if they would bring back the wok grilled Tiger Shrimp!
Not worth the money at all. Very disappointing as I’ve loved dinners at Jaya.
We visited JAYA on a friday night for a birthday celebration. We booked our table of 8 and specifically requested to be outdoors in the patio area,Well, JAYA didn't disappoint. We arrived a bit earlier for drinks at the outdoor bar while we waited for our party to arrive, and checked in with the hostess earlier to let her know. JAYA did an amazing job to accommodate our request to be outside and made sure the next available table was for us! They actually seated us prior to our Open Table reservation. On Fridays, they have an awesome Arabian nights theme show inclusive of Fire Dancers, Contourshonist and even a Geisha girl! They have a DJ who is absolutely amazing and plays a wonderful mix of club, dance, disco and oldies! The only set back is he doesn't invite people to dance (and its a shame because the music is awesome) The food is excellent for the price points, the service is superb (thanks Jacques) and the drinks are obviously pricey (expected at the beach venues). We had a great birthday celebration! Thanks again JAYA.. we will be back soon!
The "outside" covered space around the water was beautiful with nice lighting. The service was attentive, friendly but professional and responsive. The food was very good but pricey but you are paying for the overall experience.
La verdad fue mala ,,pensaba que el lugar era otra cosa
Surtout la Terrasse
It was so unforgettable!! The Chinese show was incredible. So romantic ! I could stay there all night with a view like that.
Great as usual specially with Show in Fridays
Specially the service (a man from Montenegro) was excellent!
The setting is so beautiful and the service was very good. However, it was not worth $450 for two entrees and a bottle of wine. All of the wine was way over priced. The exorbitant price took the fun out of the meal and the evening. We will not be back.
The table right next to us were smoking non-stop. We aren't used to this. Loved everything about this place except the smoking policy.
Cumpleaños de mi es
Originally they sat us in the kitchen and it was literally smelling like a kitchen. Then we went outside.
Waiter was awesome.
Food portion was small.
I went for dinner recently and it was 100% not worth the price tag. Food wasn’t bad, just not worth +$100 per person. Ambiance was really enjoyable though.
The food was delicious, although none of us really left full despite spending $350 per couple. They allow smoking and a table of four women next to us smoked incessantly throughout dinner (as non-smokers, we were thrilled). Service was great and wonderful ambience.
I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I had a reservation and still had to wait half an hour for the table. The service was terrible waited about one hour for the appetizer and two hours for the main course. The food was horrible and the presentation was very poor. I let the supervisor know and all she could do was deduct two cups of wine from the bill, She came to apologize for the delay twice but nothing else was done about it.
We had the most amazing and beautiful Valentine’s Day evening ❤️ the food was exquisite and the service matched it!
The setting is so lovely and the jazz band just blew us away!
