Food was good, no doubt. Ceviche and steak were great!! Service staff excellent. Downside - We asked to be seated in the "outdoor"area. Neither host informed us that on weekends there was a DJ outside. The noise prevented conversation and the "light show" was not conducive to enjoying dinner. Thank goodness for Gretchen who saw our dismay and immediately moved us to the chef's table. Although it was for dessert only, she saved us!! Would highly recommend reserving a meal at the chef's table.

Not the best restaurant to go for Miami Spice, if they are going to be part of Miami spice cause clearly they want more exposure due to low season, they should treat their Miami spice customers as their regular ones, not make us feel than since we are paying less (not at all ended up paying almost a $100) they cant modify anything and we get the cheap menue.

The Food

All dishes were beautifully plated and as delicious as they looked. We ordered the Thai Ceviche, Truffle Dumplings, Scottish Salmon, Chickpea and Vegetables, Peach Crisp and Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding from the Miami Spice menu. My personal favorite was the truffle dumpling (worth the $8 supplement charge) and the Chickpea and Vegetables (it had so much flavor, it was amazing).

The Ambiance

The courtyard ambiance was spectacular! It is hands down one of the most beautiful restaurants in Miami. I went on a Friday night, and the music mixes and lighting changes made our dinner the perfect pre-game event before our night ahead.

The Service

Our server and the rest of the wait staff were nice and so attentive. Our glasses of water and sake were never more than half empty before our waiters topped us off.

Overall, I highly recommend experiencing Jaya at The Setai. It was my first time there and I can’t wait to revisit!

We went for the Miami Spice menu. The food was quite tasty and in a few dishes, very spicy. A mix of Asian and Indian. Service was exceptional. Air conditioned, inside seating, overlooks a lovely courtyard where you can eat outside, as well.

Service was non-existent, not bad but non-existent: no second glass of wine was offered, dishes too long dirty on the table, no asking if we liked it, no coffee offer with dessert. Could have done MAJOR upselling but missed opportunity. Complimentary glass of champagne was offered at beginning, but don't know who sent that or why.
Had high hopes, food was excellent and very flavorful, for Miami Spice good size portions.
I work at a 5 star hotel and do know what to expect from a 5 star experience

Great food, wait staff was kind and helpful. I got sick from a previous place so they doggie bagged everything and gave me a delicious ginger root tea free to help my tummy.

Best brunch in Miami, hands down. A variety of cuisines to choose from - it's anything but your typical hotel breakfast buffet. They've got pretty much every type of cuisine imaginable and do it all very well (I recommend the Indian options), but if you're craving the brunch classics like a great omelette or a station where you can deck out your own bagel, they've got it too. The ambiance and live jazz music are an added bonus that will keep you wanting to stick around for another refill of champagne. Highly recommend!

One of the absolute best brunch places in Miami. From the service to the food it was absolutely perfect. The entire ambiance made you feel at peace while eating and enjoying the company of good friends. A wide array of food choices also makes it that everyone will find something they enjoy! 10/10 recommend

Jaya at the Setai is always a special treat. Now that its on Miami Spice, its a must-dine place to go while Spice is available. Their sashimi melts in your mouth and is so fresh, so that is my favorite starter and the only item we ordered outside of the Spice menu. Their Miami Spice menu gives you plenty of options and you definitely leave full. The brisket bao buns and the truffle dumplings are delicious. Jaya also is home to my favorite cocktail in Miami: The Chili Passion Martini. Highly recommended!!

We tried Jaya on the first night of Miami Spice. The watermelon/tomato salad was great, the tandoor sea bass superb (for a $12 supplement), and the desserts perfect. BUT the beef bau was hard as a rock, and because we informed the waiter, we were given a credit.
The service was slooooow. Really slow. The waiter was attentive when he was there, but he disappeared for long periods.
But I'd got back any time to dine in the gorgeous courtyard, with tables placed far apart, lights reflecting in the pools of water. Excellent for good conversation.

My husband and I went to the Jaya for the first time on August 1st, 2018. Before we’ve had dinner, a lady from the staff came to our table, lit the candle and congratuated us to our swiss national day! What a nice surprise! We really enjoyed this place a lot. Good and spicy food, nice ambiance, fairly good service.

Absolutely delicious dinner. We ordered the thali and it was as good as we have experienced in India. The naan was homemade and buttery. The atmosphere is beautiful. There is a gorgeous patio for outdoor dining or the interior is very inviting. The service is excellent and the drinks creative.

Incredible service. Excellent food. Awesome get away. Very expensive get away.

One piece of advice: Courtyard view not worth the upgrade unless you get a lower level floor. Otherwise your view completely bypasses the courtyard (see over it) and is of the rooms in the hotel across the way.

My flight arrived around noon and I was at the hotel by 12:20. Typically check in is 4pm. I had a room within 10 mins. Again, awesome service.

Would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous setting; great food; expensive. I'd go back for a special occasion without hesitation. Perhaps a bit pricey for casual dining. Not quite Indian food, which is what we were looking for, but the menu was interesting / good overall.

Hamachi tuna, truffle emulsion dumplings, Pho and pear dessert all absolutely outstanding. Japanese leaf was very fresh too. Pad Thai and ice cream dishes left something to be desired.

PS: sit outside.

I love everything about brunch at Jaya! I have been here numerous times and will continue to come back time and time again. On Sunday I celebrated My 30th Birthday at brunch and they were kind enough to provide a candle so my family could sing me happy birthday. The service and staff is always incredible and over the top.

Best food in Miami. We have been on vacation from England and have to say this is by far the best restaurant we have eaten in. The food wasn’t rushed, was perfectly cooked and presented and we loved the whole evening. Fabulous place to go.

Great experience for my anniversary. My wife was pleased the wait staff was pleasant and attentive. It’s a bit in the pricey side but for the extent of the menu it was well worth it. I definitely will return whenever I visit Miami.

Food is great and setting is beautiful. Japanese Leaf and chive dumplings were delicious, although Leaf felt as though it had not been properly spinned as dressing was a bit thin and did not adhere to the salad. Big issue was that kitchen was absurdly slow even though it was a slow night. We waited almost an hour between the appetizers and the mains. We left without dessert after waiting too long to order it as we lost patience. Place is beautiful and food is good so hope they fix these issues.
