Love love love this place. Best service I have ever had. Food was amazing, especially the Branzino entree. We thought it was the best crab cake we've ever had! Sounds so simple but the fresh chocolate chip cookies were the perfect way to end. Get the a la mode! Can't wait to go back.
Great service for such a busy, bustling place. The food and drinks are delicious and fresh. Loved the ahi tuna poke appetizer, fresh fish choice of the day and the dessert.
Very good overall as always, first time we had snow crab legs as part or combo app, not impressed with the crab, possibly because we grew up on the west coast and were spoiled with fresh Dungeness crab. Oysters, shrimp and clam chowder were awesome.
Fantastic server! He offered great suggestions. We enjoyed everything.
Been there multiple times. Always excellent food and service. A bit pricy but still worth it. Only issue was sitting by the windows was a bit too chilly due to cold outdoor temperatures.
Thought the appetizers/happy hour (calamari, poke, oysters, fries, crab fried rice) was better than the entrees. Sea scallops and octopus...didn't care for the sauces.
As always and for many years Jax has been our go to place for great meals. From host to bartenders to servers this restaurant has never failed.
One waiter seemed incredibly happy to help; our main waiter just wanted his tip, spending maybe a total of 1 min at our table throughout the night. I spent over an hour looking at menus in town to find halibut; come to find out it was not being served this night because it was not in season (just change your website it takes 1 second)... I got the muscles --- great dish except one of the muscles had a little piece of shell or something in it because it definitely crunched much more than a muscle should..... Anyways we came in late at night and the waiter was busy which is understandable; but he offered no apology for being rushed... just went about his business. If I was at a cheeba hut I understand that people are living their lives and dont care about you; however when you are spending $10 on a drink and 25-45 on a meal I expect a little courtesy. I plan on returning; and hopefully I can change my review when I do; however, after this trip I was let down a bit.
We had a reservation, arrived early and were seated within 10 minutes and 20 minutes ahead of our reservation. The host was very alert, conscientious, and effective. Food was good, took some time on a couple of items, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Absolutely Awesome and Alec our waiter was phenomenal.!
I have two words: NEVER AGAIN. Scallops undercooked, my wife's snapper dish came complete with something unidentifiably rubber; the snapper was drown in seasoning hiding most of the fish's flavor. Totally not worth the cost. The Valentine's Day menu was totally out of their reach. Way too noisy for a romantic evening unless you don 't mind shouting. Very good oysters and service but that's about it. Good luck!
Second time my wife and myself have been. First time was superb, waiter was super friendly and a good laugh and the food was just fantastic. This time was for Valentine's Day, we were originally put off by the fixed menu but figured we'd give it a try. Absolutely delicious in every way. One of our favorite restaurants now in Denver, only been twice but both times we absolutely loved everything about it.
So happy that JAX is on Open Table now! This is a long time favorite and they never cease to amaze! When they called to confirm our reservation, I informed them that we would be bringing our toddler and they sat us next to the fish tank = VIP seating for a 2 year old. It was perfect for us to enjoy a family night out for Mardi Gras. Thank you JAX for being so accommodating. Oh, and our server was AMAZING as well - we call him Red (beard).
Jax was amazing, the food, the ambiance, the service...everything!!
Our server (Russ) and another gal where amazing. My mom is not a huge spicy food fan, when they heard she taught it was to spicy for her they where going to remake the whole dish. She said they didn't have to do that so they then brought a wine that made the meal taste cooler and then they also gave us a wonderful dessert. So nice of them. I just love the staff here.
Everything from the start to the finish was impeccable. Had fresh oysters on the half shell and calamari for starters that were delicious. The Branzino entree was absolutely decadent. The toasted s’mores torte was small but packed full of flavor. Perfect end to the meal. We can’t wait to go back.
Amazing as always. Love the updated menu and our server “big Al” is the best!!!
The oysters were delicious! Definitely check this place out for fresh seafood.
Our server Alex was fantastic. He made a point of making each person of 6 in our party feel special, especially our 18 month old grandson. (They toasted the birthday Mom together)! The food and wine was all wonderful. Thanks for a memorable evening!
Can’t remember our waiter’s name but he was really awesome! Foods always good here.
Amazing! This was the perfect date night for any seafood lover!
Great food, great craft cocktails, lively vibe. Jax is a great place for a Friday night date!
Amazing staffing providing amazing attention to detail in their service and delivering amazing food and drink.
Jax’s never disappoints! They have the best servers and only serve you their best every time. Great vibe, friendly service, becoming a tradition for us whenever me make it to Denver! Their seafood is the best!
Had to wait 30 minutes even though we had a reservation but we weren't in a hurry. Service was great. Food was awesome. We would definitely come back the next time we were in Denver
Thank you Bobby for being as patient as you were professional. We found the menu daunting but with Bobby’s help we’re we able to negotiate our way through it. The happy hour menu is large and full of fun and exciting dishes. Don’t be suprized if you order 4 or 5 of the amazing starters and never make it to the entrees. We both agreed the Charbroiled oysters deserved top billing for the evening!
I wish I had paid more attention to the other reviews. The service was very slow. The dinning experience was not a good way to end a great week with family in Colorado. There was nothing special about any of the dished ordered by our party of 6. It was a bid disappointment. I had the scallops and the sauce was so strong you could not taste the scallops. The oyster appetizer was not bad but was not the best. There are much better restaurants with much better service and quality of food. I think they are so busy they don't care to please their customers any longer.
Our favorite place for seafood and fish in Denver or Boulder.
Jax was a great find! We will definitely be returning in the future. We had east coast oysters from Maine which are amazing by the way and the crab cake was to die for not to mention the awesome wedge salad we shared. Our waiter Chris made it all more special.
Overall food was great. We were there to celebrate my Mother's birthday as she was craving Alaskan King Crab Legs. All dishes were great, but her $38 King Crab Leg was not quite what she had expected and the flavor was a bit off. Waiter was on point, and seafood tasted fresh!
