Great food , great staff . A very fun place for any occasion.
Tony knows his oysters and is a hell of nice guy.
Best seafood dinner I’ve had in Denver in quite a while. I’ll be back.
I made a reservation for my dad's Birthday at Jax and wrote a special request that it was his birthday not knowing if they would have anything special for the occasion. We were promptly seated after arriving even though our full party wasn't with us. The table was a little cramped in the corner by the hostess station, which I thought was going to bother us more... the place is rather small and they know how to pack-em-in. Our server was wonderful and really knew how to elaborate on the taste of each menu and drink item.
We all ordered a wide variety from the menu and there wasn't a morsel in sight when we were done. They eve brought out a key lime pie with a candle for my dad (and didn't make a huge deal about it- because he would have been mortified). All in all it was a very good meal. My one suggestion would be to make sure that people could get out of their seat to use the bathroom without making another table move their seats... apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food.
We will have to come back for the brunch!!! It sounded incredible.
Great menu and service! Always great menu options for our entire family.
We dine at Jax frequently for early weeknight dinners. Food and service is always first class.
Sunday we went at 4:00 p.m. and were seated in the front dining room. the music was much louder than normal and we asked if it could be turned down. rather than turning it down we were invited to move to the back dining room. apparently the server had not come on duty yet for that section.
we waited 15 minutes to get our drinks from the bar and received spoty service for the rest of the meal. the food was very good.
management needs to know and maintain the usual high level of service and food.
Bottomless crabs were hot juicy and fat. Biscuits were hot out of the oven every time. I will be returning 100%!
I love this place Incredible seafood, great service, great atmosphere. One of my very favorite restaurants!
Good food and good service.
We like that we can go low-end or high-end and still have a nice seafood dinner in an upbeat environment.
Good happy hour, nice vibe, and friendly, efficient service. Solid go-to option and one of the better seafood options near Cherry Creek.
Really enjoyed the good company and location
Great atmosphere, great food, great service! Perfect portions, one of a kind. Highly recommend! Great for a date! :)
As expected, good quality food at a fair price. Little too much ice on cocktails but still a go d experience.
Love the happy hour menu. Next time I want to try the white sangria. Spicy tuna is pictured. Sometimes the food varies, perhaps due to who the cook is that night. I think this is a good thing.
Not bad for the price. Will be back for the Monday happy hour.
Birthday brunch. Everything was excellent from the food to the staff.
We were a group of 20 and whoever ordered the Bottomless Crab Brunch had to wait at least 15-20 minutes to receive the other 1/2 lb of Dungeness / Snow Crabs. The crabs were NOT steaming hot, they were cold. The side dishes were not impressive. The grits were not good at all. For $48.00 you would think that you would have more options for the side dishes. I will NOT recommend friends for the Sunday Brunch. Michael our server did his best, but still the service was not up to par. Also, we had a friend with us who is allergic to seafood and was specific when she ordered and still received a dish with seafood. She had to leave immediately.
It was much better than it was before. They extended the menu quite a bit and had many more choices. It was very good this time and will definitely be back. Especially love the deck up on top!
Great Seafood and the service was excellent! We went during restaurant week and they had great options off the regular menu.
The food was delicious and our servers were all friendly. The crab cake is my favorite. We also had the key lime pie dessert which was outstanding, and you make the best old fashioned cocktail.
It was so noisy that my Friend & I could not hear ourselves talk. I would recommend it or a decent fish dish. None of the above choices would apply. Our waitress was great
What a perfect evening! My swordfish was beautifully prepared and plated with a creative melody of vegetables. The baramundi complimented the bouillabaisse and tasted wonderful. Don't forget to order the key lime pie that arrived deconstructed on the plate. A fun time with delicious array of dishes.
We love coming to Jax! Every time we go there are new items on the menu. Their side dishes are unique and tasty. I had a king crab noodle dish that was to die for. The noodles were done just right with a bit of texture and chewiness and a sauce that was filled with extra goodness. I could have eaten an entire plate more! Honestly, the crab was not the show of that dish although there were nice big bites of it. My husband had the adult ramen and loved it. The diverse flavors made it one of his favorites at Jax. They oysters on the half shell are always delightful and we sampled three very different kinds. They allow a mix and match which makes it a fun experience. The staff were very attentive and pleasant and there was a live performer that made the entire evening very special.
Amazing food as always. & even though the lobster tail was small, I’m still giving top rates because we mentioned it & they quickly brought us an additional one.
Very good service but the best thing is the food. And there are plenty of gluten free options.
One of our party ordered a hamburger which never came. All the rest of the food arrived but until we called over the manager, the hamburger was missing in action. The manager first seemed to blame us due to another change on a dish, but it was clearly the kitchen's fault. He then apologized, and comped us for all our entrees. Food and menu selections are excellent (they seemed to have radically changed the menu for the better) but service needs some work!
Went with my girlfriend for valentines day and did the optional 3 course meal for $55/person. This was a great deal, each course was well proportioned and delicious. We also showed up in time to take advantage of happy hour when ordering our drinks. They make a fantastic old fashion and don't water it down with soda or water like some places might do. There was live music with a mix of oldies and current jams. And a staff member was going around offering to take free pictures of couples that we were able to take home with us. All in all, it was a great experience and we'll certainly be back!
We were pretty disappointed in the value. A lobster roll should be on a roll and not on some weird Texas toast. After we finished our meal is when the waiter disclosed that they were out of rolls. This should have happened when I ordered it but honestly I should have just sent it back. The s’mores pie did not have marshmallow on it but my key lime pie did? The waiter was not at all apologetic for the mix ups brought to his attention. I just think for how much money we spent this meal should have been on point. I think Jax was having an off night.
My husband took me for Valentine's Day, and we agree that this is one of the best kitchens in Denver. The calamari was large and thick, with just the right amount of chew, and the combination of the aioli and chili sauces was divine. The king crab pasta was the best I ever had. Those extra-wide noodles with the tangy tomato sauce would have been enough, but add the sweet crab? Heaven. The s'mores dessert was surprisingly elegant, and definitely worth every calorie. My husband had the steak tartare appetizer, the surf-and-turf pasta, and a raspberry white chocolate mousse, and seemed equally pleased with his meal.
seafood is probably best i have had in denver.
the "sinker" was on point!!!
only thing is food could use a little salt
As always an excellent experience tarnished only by lack of restaurant front handicap parking but ample help tp hobble up stairs.
Was there for Fat Tuesday. Seafood platter was just ok - shrimp was limp, not fresh.
Rest of meal - appetizer version of steak tartar and shrimp and grits - awesome. Would go back just for these two items.
Way too noisy. Most of the time couldn’t hear dinner guest across table.
Food was great!
I made a reservation for 2:00 PM on the Sunday before Valentine's Day. I made the reservation through Open Table and I called the Glendale restaurant to confirm. When I called the restaurant to confirm my reservation and spoke to an employee. I asked them how the food was, what is something I should try since I hadn't been there before, and what was popular on the menu? It was not communicated to me on the email confirmation or on the phone call that specific time that I had a reservation for was happy hour and that there was not a full menu available during happy hour. It was also communicated that I didn't need a reservation during happy hour. This is very important to clear up and communicate correctly on your reservation platforms. We wanted to experience a full menu at the time of our first visit and during the time that we made and had a reservation. Please make the necessary adjustments. The food and service was great!
Fresh and tasty, some of the best and cleanest oysters that I have ever had. Delicious and top notch service!
Thanks for a great dinner!
Our first time at Jax.
Probably didn't order the best items.
Happy hour drinks & menu were poor quality/value.
Lobster Roll was good but at $25 pricey. Accompanying chips were tasteless.
Shrimp and grits had only 2 shrimp.
Food was great. Our server, Nate, was great. Good selection of oysters and the fish was very fresh. This was our first time and definitely will be back.
My wife and I love Jax. We have gone there for a number of years and have enjoyed every visit. The food and service are always the best.
The food was mediocre at best, the only redeeming part of the experience was our waitress.
