Wonderful attentive, friendly and informative service. Top notch. Food portions sizes are large and food is wonderful. So flavorfull. Had the rack of lamb and it was tender and delish. House ice cream with subtle rose flavor is refreshing and wonderful. LA experienced a power outage while we were there and they processed our payment via ipad and a clear handwritten check. Great restaurant.

Celebrating my husbands acceptance into American Film Institute. He is from Iran and we had the most amazing experience! I cook almost all of the Persian dishes for him and the food did not disappoint! Great service and value! We will be back!

I have always liked Javan, and since we often eat the same kind of food in the Westwood area, we all decided that Javan is the best. The food was prepared and served well, and had a wonderful blend of flavors and ingredients, but was also filling. I loved the homemade lemonade, which was refreshing, and showed the little personal touches which place Javan as a cut above other similar restaurants. I'd recommend this restaurant and return to this restaurant often.

Delicious meal on Nowruz. Got several different dishes and shared them and surprisingly with all the red meat we ordered the juicy chicken was all of our favorites! One of my favorite Persian restaurants in Westwood/santa monica! We will be back.

I was so looking forward to trying Javan after driving past it for many years. Some of my Persian friends had recommended it. the portions, especially the rice, were very generous. The cherry rice and raisin/lentil rice were particularly delicious, but you have to be a fan of dill, and i mean LOTS of dill, to like the herbed rice, which i didnt. I was disappointed that the only fish dish on the menu was grilled on skewers, since many of my friends make a salmon or other fish stuffed with herbs, that is moist and fantastic. As with most restaurants, the skewered dishes were dry, both the fish and the chicken. i told the very nice waiter ahead of time that i was concerned that it would be dry, and alas it was. There was a very nice $11 chardonnay on the menu. So in the end, it will be a long time before i come back. there are just too many wonderful restaurants in l.a. that know how to grill fish and chicken. i think that in large part this restaurant has a steady clientele of regulars and others looking for a reasonably priced dinner. But they could challenge themselves very easily and have a GREAT restaurant.
