Wonderful food and service - very happy we dined there
Super place to go with friends for lunch. If you ask, they will even prepare dishes not on the menu that day. We love the lamb salad. I had the special long cod fish and chips. Absolutely great!
Stan is the Man! Took care of me too shelf service on my birthday. We will be back. The food is different but familiar. Excellent menu. White cloth service with a casual vibe. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients.
Our 'go to' restaurant. Fresh food and fabulous, friendly service!
I have been there before but its been a long time i forgot what a great place this is from the food to the service its great and there's parking.
Service was rushed
Excellent venue and menu. Perfect for a group of us. We sat outside, in the shade on a hot day. Excellent foot and very patient, accommodating waiter. I have been many times, eaten indoors and out. Everything is consistently excellent. Will return many more times.
A lovely place to meet friends and enjoy a meal together. The outdoor patio is especially nice.
Waiter was fabulous! He overheard happy Birthday toast and brought small complimentary dessert with candle.
We have been to Jason’s several times. As always the food was great. The coconut mussels appetizer was awesome. The service was not as good though. We didn’t see our waiter after placing our order until we were done with dinner and the table was cleared. I was hoping to order another drink, but couldn’t.
Jason's NEVER disappoints and I know that whatever I order, it will be perfect. How they main such a lengthy and extremely varied menu must be kept in a vault to which only Jason knows the combination!!! Its extremely center-of-Marin location (right next to but you never hear are Hwys 101 and 580). And there's always plenty of parking...unlike Marin Country Mart, which is a parking nightmare that will get only worse with new addition Shake Shack!!
Fine menu, quality of the food and service very good, parking easy.
In essence, a really good restaurant with reasonable prices.
Noise level a bit high, but not much they can do about that.
A neighborhood gem. I go there as often as I can. The waiters are exceptional and and food is very good. The prices are quite reasonable for a Marin top restaurant.
Always the best food and service! I have dined there several times and have never been disappointed.
Great pasta! Great service
Good service, tasty and generous food and drink. Inviting atmosphere and comfortable seating.
Thank you, it was perfect and worth the trip
Jason's continues to be my favorite restaurant in Marin, because the food is inventive and delicious, the quality is consistently excellent, and the service is really attentive!
The atmosphere is comfortable and classy. Nicely spaced tables with white tablecloths, in a well appointed room, makes for an enjoyable evening. It is not particularly expensive, considering how good it is. And the Happy Hour is really good for the price-conscious diner.
Last night a friend and I I started with the delightful and unique appetizer of tempura green beans and broccoli florets. This is an unusual dish, light and extremely tasty!
Then I had the perfectly prepared herbed salmon. It is a unique way to prepare salmon which is tastier than most, and which is always consistent and wonderful. It comes with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Personally, I substitute another veggie for the potato. They are happy to do that.
My friend had the perfectly done scallops and they looked great also.
For dessert, we shared the profiteroles. I swear they were as good or better than France!
All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience, and my compliments to Jason, the hard working, talented, inventive chef!
I am so pleased to have such a lovely restaurant nearby. I appreciate the varied menu and delicious food plus the fact that servers are welcoming and friendly.
Great lamb salad, good service, great place for lunch
Great place to share with friends. Make sure to book because they are very busy. We went for lunch and wanted the “lamb salad” which wasn’t a special that day. However Jason, the chef said it was fine. The two lamb chops were spectacular! Some of the best I’ve ever had. The crab cakes were just ordinary. I wouldn’t order those again. The fried green beans and fried calamari were wonderful.
I love Jason’s and eat here often. There’s something for every taste. Great appetizers, elegant entrees, reasonably priced bar selections, and the noise level is fairly low to moderate - great for having a conversation!
One word of warning: The hostess may count your reservation as canceled despite your showing up on time and being seated. This just happened to me here for the second time -- although the first time was quite awhile ago. On the other hand, the food is fine and the service is very accommodating.
Nice, pleasant dining experience. The variety of menu items, mixed drinks were excellent. Main course dishes of scampi (frozen shrimp) was fine, Kobe beef hamburger outstanding. Will return.
I started with the ahi poke and then my wife and I both ordered the miso grilled sea bass with spinach and jasmine rice.
We truly enjoyed our meal and the poke and sea bass were delicious!
The food was amazing, but the service was terrible. We waited 30 minutes between each course and even seeing the waiter. We watched him ask the 2 table next to us about their meals, never came over. We wanted to order more drinks and get the check. We tried to get his attention, and he would see us, and then look away. Very disappointing since the food was so good.
Very reliable and a favorite of locals. They do a solid job with all of their food offerings and have a reasonably priced wine list.
Mother’s Day is usually a busy one with long waits even with reservations, but we were seated promptly, had our excellent waiter Antonio and warm bread and water was immediately brought. We had an excellent margarita and negroni. Service was superb, I certainly can’t explain other negative complaints. The prix fixe meal was a bit pricey considering regular everyday menu but it was a holiday. We had ( highly recommended from past experience) dragon prawns, hot shots followed the best ever Chilean sea bass, followed with substituted hot fudge sundae and a Cabernet sorbet instead of ice cream on top of rice chocolate cake. All in all an excellent experience and relatively quiet place to easily converse. Highly recommended!!!
We had 8 people at a Mother's day celebration. The waiter was fantastic. He attended to all of our needs in a very professional manner. The food was served on time and hot. Great job!
Jason’s is our “go to “ dinner .
Consistently good service and excellent
Miso Sea Bass.
Terrific dinner, fine food and excellent service in a very nice place. We will go back.
Go out or your way to engage this fusion style dining experience
Jason’s has been a restaurant that I have been to in the past and loved it. I’m probably not going back and won’t recommend it to friends as I once did. First of all, the hostess was very nice and accommodating. Also, the bus person who cleared the table was very nice and even took a group picture of us happily. From there it went down hill. Our waiter was very rude. We were a group of six and he tried to rush us through the entire meal. When he brought the forks for us to share dessert he was almost throwing them at us. If we didn’t answer him quickly enough he walked away from the table as we were talking to him. He never had a smile on his face. It’s too bad that Jason’s has allowed this waiter to continue to work there. I will not be back.
I always enjoy Jason's for the fresh, well-prepared food, outstanding service and quiet ambiance. A regular favorite!
The restaurant was very busy Friday evening and the noise level was unbelievable. As happy hour progressed it became impossible to have a conversation. Fortunately the food and wine was very good and we had a nice time eating. In the future I will arrive later for dinner or request a table outdoors where I think it was quieter.
We walked in the door to a person at the host desk who was entering an order, but didn’t even look up to acknowledge our presence. Eventually the hostess came back to the front and we were seated fairly quickly. Our service was great, and the soup we had to start was excellent (Thai Curry Tomato Bisque for me and Lobster Bisque for my husband). The main courses were just okay. The prawns in my scampi were over cooked or over frozen - hard to tell which! My husbands scallops were not cooked well. My Million Dollar Margarita was fine. We probably won’t go back as there are so many places that have good service AND good food in the area.
We enjoyed the lovely round table for eight...worked so well for us!
...the wait staff did a great job....friendly and professional. The special Fish and chips were outstanding...Salmon Ceaser Salad delicious as was the Cheese Burger, the Black and Blue needed a little work.....had a great time. Thanks Joline
Pretty good food, but the venue looks like (and essentially is) a business suite and completely lacks charm. Down to the hotel chairs... The food was surprisingly good and priced fairly - service extremely average but it could have beenthat one waiter. Overall it's like eating in the conference room of your office, not a date experience...
