Jasmine - Bellagio Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding site for view of fountains from indoors. Beautiful decor, superb service. Desserts were really good, especially creme brulee. Disappointed in their signature dish, General Chicken. It wasn't hot temperature, and really needed to order side of rice to supplement. Overall an wonderful experience, but not for the food. Crispy roasted chicken was the best of 3 dishes ordered
We visited Jasmine 5 yrs ago and it was amazing. We just went back this week and we were very disappointed. We ordered the tasting menu for $128 per person, and the food was just okay. I expect great food for that price. I don't think we will be coming back.
Food was delicious with the exception of the spring rolls. We had soba noodles and the beef tenderloin and both were sublime. The room is gorgeous and you can watch the Bellagio fountains out the large windows. Spectacular setting and the service was great also. Price wasn't as bad as we were expecting.
We did not actually eat here. We had a reservation on open table for 900pm. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and they made us wait. Then a couple came in behind us and said they did not have a reservation but they were seated first. By that time we had waited 15 minutes so we left. The hostess was very impolite to us as well.
Great food and excellent service BUT. There was a table with the worst behaved kids I have ever seen. Ever. Ever. The restaurant needed to say dinerhing to them because they were causing the rest of the people to have a less than nice dinner. They were swinging stuffed animals around, clinic moving on chairs. Singing. It was like we were being linked. Yes idiot parents -3 sets of them. But the restaurant needed to stop it. We all paid too
We went here expecting high prices. Just on taste and quality of the food (taking price/cost out of the picture), food was good. However, it is not any better the any other well known Chinese restaurants in the bay area (California).
Service was also good, however, one thing I dislike is the waiter trying push more items for our meal. Was only the the two of us and we already had ordered 3 dishes. Waiter was pushing us to get more items. I'm ok with suggestions, but don't be pushy.
Evening ruined by ridiculously fast service. Main courses arrived during appetizers and were sent back to the kitchen "to be kept warm". This happened to other tables near us too. One diner was having the Tasting Menu and dishes were arriving before they had finished the current dish. It was not busy but there was an absolute rush to get through the meal. The Chinese gentleman serving the meals said "but you are hungry - eat". He said the same to the diners behind us. His assistant told us to ignore him as he was "2 beers short of a 6 pack"....that was how professional it all was. The lady Sommelier saw what was going on and said she would tell management about the situation. Excellent Chilean Seabass but luke warm prawn dish (no doubt due to it having been returned to the kitchen). Such a disappointment as this was our 7th annual visit. Will not return. Lousy experience.
Great place. Just expensive for what you get compared to off the strip Chinese places but of course beautifully prepared and presented food. The two of us tried 4 dishes of the house specials including the sampler appetizer, the fried rice, a noodle dish and house chicken. Wish we went with a group so we can try other dishes. Would go again because the dining room is so big and bright and overlooks the bellagio fountains. The waiters were friendly and helpful in choosing dishes.
