Jarrettown Hotel Ratings and Reviews
While the Jarrettown has always been a great place for a good meal. I, unfortunately cannot recommend visiting this restaurant during the winter months. The evening we went was chilly. There was a cold breeze coming through the dining room all night long. We mentioned to the waitress several times how cold the room was. There was a thermostat in the room, but no one ever touched it. The people at the table next to us mentioned the coldness a few times as well. Nothing was done to accommodate us. No customer should have to wear their coat during their meal.
We are frequent diners at the Jarrettown and this is the first time I would say we were disappointed. Our server was not what we have come to experience at the Jarrettown. She was rather abrupt. The staff at the front desk told part of our party of 4 that if they weren’t willing to be seated right away (which was before our reservation time) then we would lose our table. I hope this was just an off night for the Jarrettown. The food was very good as usual but the service definitely diminished the experience.
Been meaning to go back for some time and it did not disappoint. Special kudos to Candace, our server, who was friendly, efficient and professional. Food was very good.
Took us a minute or two to figure out that entrance was in the rear, so I would recommend basic signage from the parking lot to address that issue.
I do no understand why this place isn't packed! We each ordered the daily special. I had a spicy
pasta with seafood which was out of this world and my husband had the fish of the day. Some how I received an email with a discount coupon and we tried this place on a whim. What a happy find! We will be back and I am going to recommend this place to my friends.
We have eaten dinner there quite a few times. Everything we have had has been very good. Service is always professional and friendly. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the grouper. Both were very good and fresh and good sized portions. Always a great meal .
I was very disappointed in our evening. I read many good reviews on line, therefore was extremely disappointed with our selection of restaurant for the evening. First, check in was very chaotic. There was no one running the hostess area. We waiting about 10 minutes in line just to get someone to talk to us (we had reservations). There was general confusion over who was supposed to be waiting our table once we were seated. Bread was brought to the table, then our appetizer, then oil for the bread and then our drinks. Literally all in that order and not quickly. Again, just general confusion. As for the meals, there was nothing awful, but also nothing great about the meals. For the price, it was very underwhelming. I would not recommend this restaurant and I certainly would not return. I will say that our waitress seemed to be doing her best and was pleasant, but it seems as if the restaurant was being poorly run, understaffed and again, the food was nothing special at all.
Been here several times, but each visit is unmemorable, except that I'm never positively impressed by the food, service, etc.
Bartender (female) was not friendly (she's servicing one of the most profitable products in the place, and should know better. Waiter was very new, and so giving him a break. He did ok.
I ordered a pizza, which came with small slices of something salty (didn't ask for anchovies, so assume it was the sausage?) Definitely not worth reordering.
Why return? Business dinners that require some place near to the office... Too many better places in the area, so if you have the option to try another restaurant - suggest you do.
Haven't been there for years. Was better than I ever remembered! Food was exceptional. Ambiance was warm and inviting. Service was beyond exceptional. I felt as though our server was a good friend...very attentive, friendly and efficient! Would highly recommend to others.
Very nice outdoor seating. Great locals place. Menu had a little of everything. Waitress Karen, was excellent. We took her recommendations, and had the scallops, and also the crab cake entrees, both were fabulous! We just moved to the area, and received a GC as a house warming gift, and so glad we finally had the chance to enjoy a nice relaxing night out. We will be back, really enjoyed everything about Jarrettown Hotel!
I've been to the Jarrettown Inn many times and it never disappoints! The food is delicious and is presented beautifully. I always get the Caesar salad and it's wonderful. I've never had dessert ...I've always been too full!
The renovations were well thought out and the addition of the patio really topped it off.
A great spot!
All four of us had something different and we all loved our meals. The service was prompt but not pushy. Drinks came in a timely manner. A request for a table change was accommodated with no fuss or bother. Outside looked inviting but there was a threat of rain. The music inside was pleasant and not intrusive on conversation. The price was reasonable.
The Jarrettown Inn has been on that site since 1847 as a hotel and tavern and more recently a fine dining Italian restaurant. The outdoor patio area is a fantastic meeting place in fine weather and the food and atmosphere inside can be anything from quiet (good for a lunch meeting) to bustling (especially around the holidays).
