Great food. Very loud
Very good. The food was delicious. We had not been there for a few years but will be back. We both got the specials and we are glad we did. The drinks, music, food, service all of high quality. Thank you for serving non-alcohol beer too!
Delicious food and attentive service. It’s our new go-too place for dinner.
We have been to Jarrettown many times for brunch (byob), happy hour or dinner. When there are six of us, we try to call ahead and request the round table on the porch. We were taking our son's new in-laws for brunch and had called ahead and requested that "special" table. It was available when we called. When we arrived, that table had been given to another group and we were seated in the darker dining room next to the kitchen. Very disappointing since I had told our group that we would be seating on the sunny porch. As always, the food was good. The service was fine but I believe they were under-staffed and our waiter was pretty busy.
Food was excellent. My wife had the Ahi Tuna appetizer which was prepared perfectly and I had the veal parmesan which was cooked perfectly and the portions for both meals were large enough to satisfy any appretite. We love the ambiance and the service was top notch. We are definitely going again real soon.
It was a very good experience. Have eaten there before so exactly what I expected.
I used to love this place. Since it was Valentine's Day, everywhere will be busy. Unfortunately when I made the reservation I did not know it would be a prix fixe menu. I believe it was a bit pricey for the amount of food that was being served. We also sat upstairs next to a window that had a really bad draft. The service was fine, we had a wonderful waitress who kept apologizing for the delay since the kitchen was down an oven. The bread was stale and it was just an off night. Again, I understand that it was Valentine's Day. I just wish I could have not ordered off of the prix fixe and I didn't ask if I could make a different selection.
Booked a table for two on valentines night. Should have known it was fishy that they had openings. They put us in some upstairs room that had no ambience at all. It was awful! They should have stated that was where we would be seated because I wouldn’t have reserved it.
The burrata with tomatoes was a joke. I’ve never seen more under ripe pink tomatoes in my life. Seriously?? How could they serve that?? Like they do not care at all. I am Italian so that was an insult really. There’s nothing I hate more than bad Italian food. Why on earth would they COOK the prosciutto wrapper with asparagus. They ruined that classic dish.
The wine by the glass choices are horrible.
Service is ok but it feels like your in a diner not a nice restaurant. It’s a shame because I will not be going back and that outdoor area in the summer is so nice. But this was two bad meals.
Was not ready for the fixed menu on Valentines. We will be back for the regular menu, looked great.
My wife and I went for Valentine’s Day, NO WHERE did they tell us it would be a set menu at a set price until we got there. The menu was limited to say the least, it was almost like all the seafood was going to go bad soon because every entree but one contained seafood. Also 3 of the 7 entrees available were at a $10 up charge...are you kidding me? The waiter was not even familiar with the limited menu. Wine took forever to get to us, I had nearly finished my below average “surf and turf”(chicken, veal, and 2 shrimp...definitely not surf and turf) when I received me second glass. I read many reviews saying how good this place was and I honestly don’t know if I even want to give it a second chance.
Valentine's Day, 2020... arrive to find a fixed price menu that no one was told about. Limited selections, but the price wasn't limited. If you wanted the filet it would cost you $10.00 EXTRA. The caprese appetizer was a joke.. the worst my wife and I had ever encountered. The salads were poorly timed to the table.. the salads! The entrees were nothing to write home about. "Surf and Turf" was chicken and shrimp with both the chicken and the shrimp overcooked. The pasta and the sauce were OK, but they did not save the dish. We don't do desserts when we are out, but if you already paid for them I guess better do dessert or you'll feel ripped off even further. Tiramisu for me... eh. Chocolate volcano cake for my wife... she said it passed. Service was not as attentive as it should have been and in the end they would not accept a rewards card I had because "we don't take them". VISA rewards cards are as good as cash, but not to these yoyos. Enter at your own risk.
Always great food and service
Lovely atmosphere. |The food was good and nice size portions. Drinks were okay, but you tell when they switched bartenders. Two of our party had a special; one was delicious and the other was fair. Maybe just a poor choice for me.
Always a good meal at The Jarrettown. Outstanding seafood. Good house wines. It was very crowded this night and service was a little off, but otherwise a nice time.
We can always count on great meal and fun night at the Jarrettown!
Went in after seeing the add for a 3 course meal @ $19.99. The first course is regular or Caesar salad, choice of Bolognese, Grouper Francaise and something else with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream for dessert. While the price isn't bad, it wasn't as good a deal as I had expected. I had the grouper and, while the flavor was good, the texture was mushy which took away from the dish. We had a GREAT server, Karen. I had planned to come with a group from work to take advantage of the price fix meal but won't rush back for it. There are other price fix meals around and while they may be $10 more, you get A LOT more for your money.
Wait staff was very helpful, spoke clearly, courteous, and timely. Food portions were just right and served at the proper temperature. The food was very tasty.
I would definitely go there again, although since my last visit there was for lunch about 45 years ago (I was employed in Fort Washington) I will not wait so long.
An old friend and I got together. The Jarrettown Hotel was the meet in the middle place we both like. The food was excellent. We were able to sit and enjoy our meal and conversation without feeling we had to rush and leave.
We had a terrible experience and left after waiting 45 minutes for our food. They finally told us about a problem with the kitchen being overwhelmed. All the tables around us were having excessive long waits for food service. We left before the food arrived. We dropped our gift card on the table and will not be returning.
It was our first time to the Jarrettown Hotel in many years. We enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back.
The lamb was insanely delicious. The gnocchi was just ok.
Always enjoy going there
the service and food were very good and I will definitely be back.
Great local restaurant food and service
The food was very good. It was delivered to us hot and nothing was warm or cold. Although, we did feel like we were being rushed even though nobody was in the restaurant and as soon as they delivered our salads/bread our entree’s came out a second later.
Great food, great service
Great food, Great staff, Nice atmosphere
Always a favorite
Consistent great food and service.
We spend every Christmas Eve at this restaurant. Started the tradition about 4 years ago and wouldn’t have it any other way
Our 3rd visit in 3 weeks. Definitely not disappointed! We started with the beet and goat cheese salad followed by Ahi Tuna encrusted with sesame for me and Chilean Sea Bass for her. Everything was delicious!!!
The meal was delicious. The kitchen can accommodate Gluten Free options but wait staff needs to better understand what the options are as the menu is silent on Gluten. The Gluten Free pasta with bolognese was fantastic and Idid not experience any cross contamination 👍🏻
This is a beautiful place with great food, I will definitely visit again. my only issue with this last dining experience was that we ordered cocktails from the happy hour menu our waiter even said yes h h means you get the happy hour drinks and then we were charged full price and he said oh you only get the discount if you sit in the bar which I found deceiving.
Cozy warm atmosphere with excellent service and food.
The Menu choices, Specials, Drinks & Service werrExcellent⭐⭐⭐⭐
Took clients there last week for business lunch; very crowded at the bar and downstairs, grateful they had tables upstairs so we could talk. Food was very good, service was a little slow, probably because they were so crowded downstairs.
great food, great service
Great food but dinner felt rushed.
Great old, excellent portion, reasonable prices and great service. Good quality for the price.
Great food and great service! We visit often... Thanks!
We have never had a bad meal .. always delicious , one of our places to eat !!
