As usual, great food and service. Plus you can hear yourself talk!
This was the first time any of us had been to Jardenea, but it won't be the last! We shared the Brussel sprouts, one person had the salmon, another had the pork dish and I had the beet and goat cheese salad and crab cake appetizer and we had 3 different wine. We were very pleased with all the food and the service was superb. In addition, it was very quite which made for good conversation.
I look forward to returning for a meal and also plan to check their meeting pace.
Service takes a while for larger parties, but the food is great. Seasonal cocktails are more 'strong' than they are 'seasonal' but that's not a bad thing! Staff is friendly, could be more attentive but no real complaints. Overall a decent place, would recc to a friend if they were in the area!

Made the reservation online. When I arrived and found the restaurant inside a hotel with mediocre decor, I was worried! All the angst unnecessary. The food was excellent as well as the service. Would recommend

Innovative menu and heartfelt if not always flawless service. They got us out in time for our curtain at KC. Nice to have another choice in the neighborhood!

After a long journey, this restaurant was an easy option. It was quiet, lacked atmosphere but was adequate for tired travellers.
This was our first visit. Arrived at 5 for 5:30 reservation. Had to find the bartender to pass the time. Sat at 5:30 and told waiter that we had tickets for 8:00 and needed to leave by 7:30. Food delivery took forever. Finally got entree at 6:50. Rushed thru dinner and dessert. Took a cab to KC since we were out of town to walk. The good was decent but disappointed in kitchen timing. Waiter was good.

It’s been a couple of years since I last visited. It has improved, though I really enjoyed it then! I would have to say this is one of my FAVORITE restaurants in DC. Responsible sourcing is a huge part of my love for this place, but the preparation, presentation and atmosphere are all excellent. One note: my only negative-ish comment is the lack of a maitre’d or any kind of guidance until you’ve found the restaurant itself. No problem if you’ve been before, but for first-timers, it could be a bit confusing.
No one available to seat us or anywhere in sight. Had to ask hotels front desk to get seated.
Tables on either side of us were un bussed before we walked in and remained that way until we left.
Food crumbs all over the floors under every table.
Had to wipe off our own table which still had crumbs on it.

A bit difficult to find as there is no signage outside or inside. The restaurant is located off the lobby of the Melrose Hotel, in fact part of the restaurant is in the lobby. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was empty when we arrived and empty when we left. Not usually a good sign however the food was excellent. Service was fine as you might expect with being the only people dining that night.
In addition to some appetizers, one of us ordered seared salmon and and the other the lamb shank. Both entrees were delicious and well prepared. The portions were fairly large and we ended up taking home a doggy-bag.
This is a very good restaurant. It is clean, nice ambiance, convenient to Kennedy Center/ GWU area. Maybe it’s new and hasn’t been discovered yet.
William, our waiter, host, and even I think bartender, was unbelievably skilled and able to keep everything going well in the dining room. Everything we ordered, with the exception of one creme brulee, was perfectly prepared, presented, and satisfying. Since the restaurant is in the hotel, one does get a bit of a "hotel restaurant" feeling, but the quality of the service and food was well beyond any typical hotel restaurant.
Very nice ambience, unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment because several family members sent their food back and the food server (Nelson) put all our food on one bill. Now I understand this can happen from time to time however, he had no clue how to rectify this situation forcing our party of 12 to split the bill 6 ways which undoubtedly left a sour taste in some mouths because obviously they ate less but were forced to absorb the cost because the server didn't know how( he said it would take him 30 minutes or more as if this was an inconvenience to him.
Perfect! The Chef is a culinary genius with seafood and farm to table vegetables.
Great food! Empty restaurant. We needed someplace quiet and laidback for a special dinner. Booked 6pm, restaurant was empty. Perfect for us. We were able to relax and connect with old friends. Food and wine were great!
Enjoy the quiet while dining at Jardenea. Would have given a better rating on the food served, but I'm particularly fussy with salad and though the ingredients were fresh and tasty, it was a bit overdressed.
Otherwise rest of meal was quite good. Will continue to dine at Jardenea.

This is the 2nd time we have come to the restaurant. Had the filet and we were not disappointed. Absolutely delicious! The service (Nelson) was first class and his timing was impeccable. If you are looking for a great restaurant with great food and fantastic service in Washington DC....this is it. I will come here again

I put noisy as there was a lady near us who had a loud voice that carried and, in addition to it being distracting, my husband and I could not hear each very well.
Other than that, we both love the restaurant and there is not a lot you can do about loud people.
The fresh bread is great, and the salmon dish is saucy and flavorful. The best part of my meal, however, were the brussel sprouts. I am a big fan of brussel sprouts, and these brussel sprouts were the best that I have ever had.
We went for brunch. The hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict was tasteless and the fried potatoes also lacked flavor therefore disappointing based on reviews that said it was a very nice farm to table restaurant. Service was fine and it is close to the Kennedy Center.
Excellent service and delicious food. Not crowded at all and very fast for farm-to-table food. Too much truffle on the menu. This was perfect for a pre-theatre date, and the prix fix menu.
We were a bit nervous because at 7pm this place was nearly empty. But our server was WONDERFUL, and my friend and I cleaned both our plates! (Lobster pasta for me; quinoa and fish for her.) This would be a great spot for folks that need to be near Foggy Bottom Metro.
The salmon is the best! The food overall is excellent.
We had a pre-theater dinner at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night. The food and service were superb but the place was empty. We were the only diners in the restaurant and we saw no other customers at all.
We enjoyed exceptional service from a waiter named Nelson at dinner before we went to an opera at the Kennedy Center. Fish dishes we had were excellent and well-prepared. Was amazed we had time for three courses in less than one hour. They did a great job serving tasty food on a tight timeframe. Thank you, Nelson!
Terrific salmon, duck and pear salad. Loved it. Excited to dine there again.

An excellent value- and honestly a bit too much food
This was our fourth time dining here and once again proved to be a phenomenal experience. We dined prior to a Kennedy Center performance and had plenty of time to enjoy some small plates. We were kept on time by our wonderful waiter, Derek, who kept track of our time so that we could just do as he suggested, "sit back, relax and enjoy our dining experience."
The food, and there should be a different word to describe the elevated offerings that are served... cuisine, would be better. My son had the foix gras as he does every time. I had a new prawn dish and of course the brussel sprouts must always be ordered. In a word, SUBLIME!

To be clear, I do not generally enjoy eating out as I am usually disappointed with the quality of the food, consistency of the experience, service, cost, and/or environment. This is one of a handful of restaurants that I look forward to dining. Thank you Jardenea for a wonderful night, and we look forward to the next time!

Loved the menu selection, great ingredients and that it is health conscious. The portions are large.
THIS RESTAURANT IS IN THE HOTEL - difficult finding it if you don’t know that.
The Krispy Brussels sprouts (appetizer/salad) were actually crispy and warm YAY and had perfect amount of cheese crumble!!! I had the sea bass over blue grits which was delicious and my husband had salmon. Both dishes were fabulous. Did not have dessert so can’t comment on that. Service was great! We will be back when we visit DC in the future.
