Server was rude and not helpful in answering questions about the menu.
Japango was an incredible deal and had the best sushi I've ever had!
We had a wonderful meal consisting of Soup, salad, apps, and steaks. All very tasty.
Had a great late lunch. I was well taken care of, as per usual!
We went to Japango this week for a B-day. We made a reservation for 4 in advance & noted the occasion on the reservation. We were arrived, we were told it would be a bit as the table was not ready. After waiting a bit longer, we were told the previous party is still using the table & offered a spot at the sushi bar.
We were seated in the worse place possible! We could not have conversation as we were seated at a strange angle. I counted 10 times that servers reached over, between, and around us to hand their sushi orders to the chefs. We spent a $180 w/ tip. I had to ask for a b-day desert & we were brought a scoop of ice cream which was shoved in front of the birthday boy. No happy B- day. We were very disappointed as this was a celebration. We made the reservation for a reason.
Outing while visiting my daughter at college
Wonderful ambience and service
Its our favorite sushi place in Boulder and best meal we've had in a long time.
Always consistent food and it is delicious! We drive from Denver to go here. Make a reservation as it gets busy!!
We were there celebrating our sons birthday. Awesome food and he even got a birthday shot for his bday. Thanks for a great night.
Japango is always great! The service is friendly, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious!
Hot towels a nice touch to start. Arrived at 5:30 so we were in time for some happy hour bargains. Attentive and helpful server. We enjoyed rounds of gyoza and very delicious hand rolls with excellent varieties of sushi. Also very tasty crispy Brussels sprouts. Very enjoyable evening. We recommend it!
Food was good as always. Service could have been better, we have been many times when it was busier and service has always been good. Today was not as busy and service was slow and our server was not attentive at all.
Love japanago always!
Fantastic food and atmosphere
My fiancé and I came for Valentine’s Day dinner ... got a seat at the sushi bar (as promised). Love watching the chefs create such beautiful plates and interacting with them, really fun friendly group! Service was easily five stars, food was better! We will be back again without a doubt. One of our favorite places. Thank you!
Our family of four went to dinner on Valentine's Day. Our table was ready at our reservation time. It took quite a while for our server to take our drink order. The manager dropped off a bowl of yukky brussel sprouts to snack on. Our meals were good. Restaurant is small and tight and very crowded. But it was a holiday. I have been there several times for lunch and it was a more enjoyable experience.
Good food, mediocre service and pleasant environment. Service here is inconsistent. On this occasion, we didn’t receive water, napkins or acknowledgement from our server for more than 10 minutes after being seated. The cocktails arrived after the appetizers. The water glasses were only refilled upon request, and the server was not attentive.
The food was fresh and had nice flavor. The Otoro Nigiri special was excellent, melt in your mouth; but also expensive @ $18 for two pieces.
Go here for the food, but expect relaxed service.
Love the food and service at Japango! Have dined there many times and never been disappointed. The menu is creative (lobster potstickers!!) and the fish are super fresh. Ready to go back again
Always amazing. Thanks!
Japango is delicious, but a little overpriced, I guess with the lack of options, they get away with it. Service is usually slow, so don't try and go for a quick lunch.
Unfortunately, part of our order got lost, so we had to inquire about our food, and ended up canceling it altogether after waiting around 30-40 minutes. We come all the time, so this was definitely an anomaly. Regardless, it was handled well once pointed out. The food and service we did get was great, as per usual. I think some wires just got crossed this time! Don't miss the pork belly - I finally tried it for the first time, and it was great!
Fantastic welcoming staff. Great food and fast service!
Food and service both outstanding however still overpriced. Doesn’t stop me from eating here; just with less frequency.
The food was “OKAY”
Great sushi, but a bit overpriced
Always such great sushi!!!
My wife and I have been going to Japango for about 10 years now and although it has grown in size, the food, atmosphere and wait staff have remained consistently very good.
Fresh and interesting. Unique. A little pricy but overall fantastic.
Wonderful atmosphere and great service! Officially up there with one of my all time favorite Sushi spots!
Our very expensive clothes smell terrible. Coats, scarves, sweaters, everything. We have been there before and enjoyed it. You guys need to do something with your ventilation.
We will now have to get all of the things that I am describing laundered. Hung my coat up when I got home and now our whole closet smells like fried fish. We have all our clothes in the garage now.
Food was fantastic!!! As was the ambiance. Our waitress was just very bland
Fabulous birthday meal, we loved food and the ambiance and location are unbeatable
Chicken was very dry, vegetables weren’t cooked properly.
Veggie miso soup was burnt.
Very overpriced for what we were served.
Service was fine.
We only have one problem with this restaurant. It has very poor ventilation, so we leave smelling like the smoke from a fryer.
Hands down, Japango is the best sushi in town! And to top it off, it has a great atmosphere and great service!
Food and service was very, very good. They offered a nigiri special, which we ordered as an appetizer. However, it did not come until our meals had been delivered and half eaten. The server explained that sushi items came from a different kitchen. I wish he had explained this to us first and asked us if we wanted our main entrees after the nigiri. We had to ask for a fork for the salmon teriyaki entree. I know this is a Japanese restaurant, but this is not exactly chopsticks food item in the USA.
To their credit, the menu was impressive and the food did not disappoint. The ambiance is awesome, if not a little noisy. The bar is really cool.
Service was great. Sushi = average. We had a good time but I have had much better sushi. Really was pretty bland. Just not a lot flavor and that was the attempt to order some of the spicier rolls.
Great times/great food!
We enjoyed our first experience at Japango as a part of Firstbiteboulder. We would recommend Japango to sushi enthusiasts. Great atmosphere. Great bar selection.
