The Covid protocols made us feel very comfortable. Thank you.
Great food and service! Waited a little longer to get our table, however, that was due to other diners staying for a longer period of time.
It was very tasty, well worth the trip up to Boulder. The Wagyu was incredibly yummy, surprising considering its a sushi place. The Sushi was incredibly yummy, and they had excellent service.
Food was excellent. Prompt service. Definitely will be visiting again soon.
Love this spot in the heart of Pearl Street. Great drinks and food.
Love this place! Clean, comfortable and safe. Best place for sushi in town.
I great restaurant with great service. Try their Green-tea Creme brulee it is one of the best deserts you can taste in this life time..
We made reservations several days in advance, and were placed next to the bathrooms. Service was very slow. Sushi just ok. Overall a very average experience.
Japango has the BEST sushi! They are the only sushi restaurant that has Beef Tataki - one of our favorites!! The Naninay roll is our favorite roll!
Service was bad. Sushi want very high quality for the price.
Got to sit outside on the extended patio area on Pearl Street. Local musicians added to the ambience. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Great appetizers and comprehensive Saki list.
Great service, great food! Good setting for intimate conversation.
Japango has great service and outstanding food. Other than being a little pricey, I see no reason to not dine here.
I’ve been coming to Japango for 3 years now. I have never ever been disappointed. I’ve been lucky enough to live in places with THE best sushi in the US, and I put Japango up there with them.
The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The food is making my mouth water now just thinking about it. And their drinks are SO good. I literally can’t even find something to complain about if I tried. I could eat there every day and it still wouldn’t get old.
Fantastic service, food was good, happy to support the location.
My six-year-old and I went here for a special date night, mostly because they have a jellyfish tank. We had a nice time. The poke was great, because poke just generally is awesome, let's be honest, and it's hard to mess that up. The other sushi we ordered was good, but honestly not outstanding. And the staff was a little hipper-than-thou, but I guess that's expected on Pearl Street, especially considering their normal clientele. Our server was sort of aloof. The chefs were friendly, though, when we walked over to see how the sushi was being made. And, of course, the main attraction, jellyfish, did not disappoint. Overall, service and food was... meh, so not sure if we'll be back.
Great place for a birthday celebration. Food was great and we all enjoyed the evening.
Our server was great and we enjoyed her recommendation on the sake flight. Very nice work in tastefully establishing social distance using potted plants, etc. vs stickers and placards. There are a lot of creative cocktail recipes available.
Service was decent, and the restaurant itself had a nice layout. The good quality overall was not very good. Similar to Tokyo joes maybe a little less in quality. And prices for something so massed produce was pretty out there.
We sat outside, so didn't have the opportunity to share the pre-COVID vibrant vibe of eating in the restaurant. Our waitress was super helpful dealing with various people's dietary restrictions and made some excellent suggestions of dishes I have never tried in the 5 or so years I have been going there regularly.
Family dinner - we were seated on the quiet back patio. Server was exceptionally helpful (Holly) with choosing various options. Food was even better than expected and beautifully prepared. Non-alcoholic drinks were an unexpected treat! Loved watching the jellyfish!
We had a private outdoor area for our family of six for our send-off dinner for our son starting college at CU Boulder. What a special evening at this amazing restaurant - the sushi was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable!
Outstanding service! Food was great and came out quickly. Japango is still offering a happy hour, to boot. Great place for people watching on Pearl.
Jason was awesome!
Great dinner outside on Pearl Street. It was a nice surprise to find out Monday’s are always Happy Hour. Tried all the specials on that menu and they were delicious. Jason was our excellent server. We enjoyed it so much they we are going back with our kids on Wednesday.
Great as usual
Great food and atmosphere! Staff was a bit stand-offish
Had a nice patio table outside. Great cocktails and sushi rolls. Nice happy hour selection. Jason, our server, was the star!
Special visit with someone from out of town
Service was fantastic!!
Pet friendly in outdoor seating area.
Food was amazing! We have had good sushi elsewhere but this was special. Waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
I love Japango. I think it's the best sushi in Boulder. And the cocktails are super fun and creative. Only dig on this place are the apps are kind of ridiculously small (edamame order was about 20 pieces on a plate?? mushroom app was 4 small mushrooms?). Just skip it and go for the sushi. Not worth the cost for the apps at all and they aren't enough to quell any hunger you may have. Drinks are insanely pricey too, but i actually thought worth it with good quality alcohol and a true mixology experience. Service was great in spite of all the adjustments needed for Covid. I loved the new outdoor seating.
Great service and great food. Spacious seating during a difficult time and we felt safe and enjoyed that night.
Japango is fabulous restaurant! The food is fantastic, the menu is above par and the atmosphere and decor are pleasing. I must say however, my server is why I chose to return for a second visit during my two week business trip.
The kitchen was a little slow but the restaurant comped our desserts so they made it right. I appreciate that and we will be back.
Our waitress was offended by our questions from the start. My husband what her favorites are on the menu. She mentioned two rolls, both of which had asparagus in them. My husband responded, “oh you’re an asparagus lover?!” Her body language, facial expression, and lack of response indicates that she did not like his statement. He tried to explain himself by pointing out that both the tolls she mentioned had asparagus in them. Maybe he should have shut up at that point, but he’s a friendly, light hearted person, who was happy to be out with his family for dinner. It just went downhill from there. When my 23 year old daughter and I ordered drinks, she asked for ID, which she has to do by law. Neither of us had one because we’d left the house without our wallets. We apologized and said, “oh well, we won’t get drinks.” She made a big point of saying that she’d still bring mine but not my daughter’s. Granted, at 53, I look legal. Perhaps my daughter at 23 doesn’t. The attitude and interaction was so awkward and not necessary though. We both would have been fine without drinks and said so. She basically insisted that I still get my order of sake. Them my husband ordered a drink and the waitress said, “I could go to jail for this,” assuming he was going to give his drink to my daughter. After that, she never checked I’m on our table one time, never spoke to us the rest of the evening. My youngest was convinced she’d spit in our food. That’s how obvious she was about her disdain for us. Luckily, it was a lovely evening otherwise.
My wife and I had a date night here last weekend. We wanted to go somewhere special and this place definitely was it. The food was amazing and the staff was great. Great place to take a date!
Great food and great spot outside on Pearl Street. Highly recommended
Due to COVID we weren’t allowed to sit at the bar.... my favorite.... but we were given a perfect romantic table. Had a great time.
This was such a perfect date night. Taren was very nice and attentive. We've been craving the Japango experience since March when we were supposed to go for my birthday. Everything was absolutely delicious, although the oysters were a little warm for my taste. I can't wait to go back. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants of all time!
