About Jan's On The Beach
Jan’s on the Beach is White Rock's newest seafood restaurant - fully renovated - with a new ocean view deck at a great location "on the strip".
We offer a "Seafood and more" menu inspired by the multicultural flavours of the Vancouver area, along with a full appetizer menu. All our dishes are made to order from scratch with fresh local ingredients.
We offer daily specials, and on occasion we'll put on wine pairing dinners for you to enjoy.
We also are open for Breakfast and Lunch, and have a Beach Favourites Menu with dishes such as "Fish Bites & Fries" and a tasty Calamari bowl.
Top it off with homemade desserts such as White Chocolate and Blueberry Creme Brule, or Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Grand Marnier Strawberries.
We hope to become your favourite place to enjoy a great dining experience with one of the best views on White Rock's Marine Drive!

Jan's On The Beach Ratings and Reviews
Jan’s is my favorite White Rock/South Surrey restaurant. This small restaurant has great food and excellent service. And if you need Gluten-Free options, there is no place better in the Vancouver area—you can even order GF fish and chips, what a treat. Ambiance is great with a charming European bistro flare and original art on the walls. Attention to detail is evident in quality ingredients, and thoughtful service, right down to individual cloth towels in the powder room. Moderate prices, not at all expensive, and a super waterfront location in White Rock near the Pier. Highly recommend for get together with friends and couples dining. I have ate there as a single as well and was perfectly welcomed.
My friend and I hadn't seen each other for a few months, so decided to go to Jan's for a catch-up visit. My friend had a gorgeous salad and I had the baked brie. Everything was delicious, our table was on the patio, and the sun blessed us with warmth! We both loved it and will be going back to Jan's! It's a gourmet experience 👍❤🌞 Sorry, we didn't take pictures.
I was turned away for very odd reasons. The hostess told me my name wasn't in the reservation list. There was a lot of tables open but she still turned us away stating there it would take at least 40 min until she would serve us. She was blonde with a gap tooth I believe.
My wife's meal she said was excellent she had the sea food linguine it had lots of sea food in it . I had the ribs they were made by Jan( not pre made out sourced ) and she has a yummy rib sauce. The ribs were over cooked on a couple end pieces but overall were good. The view was amazing and the staff were friendly. We asked for a very specific table for our reservation and when we got there they had exactly what we asked for.. Thx Jan and staff we had a very nice time
Jan's was a gamble for me to take my wife for a date. Neither of us had heard of it before, but it was worth going to.
We knew that White Rock was a more casual area to eat, because of the beach and tourist traffic, so we dressed appropriately.
There was an extensive glutten-free menu, andI don't even know if my order was glutten free; but, it was very tasty and well presented.
The open kitchen was nice to see, and the atmosphere was very friendly, as was the staff.
Jan's on the Beach is a cozy little restaurant on the main "restaurant row" in White Rock. Jan tries to use locally sourced products as much as possible and has a great wine list showcasing different BC wineries. We were there on a Wednesday night so it was very quiet but that allowed us to easily converse, and it is their wine special night. The open kitchen is very small, but it is enjoyable to watch the chefs do their thing. Great food, service and value.
An out of town friend and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Jan's. We had a beautiful patio table with a great view of the water. Our server was extremely attentive and personable. Food was very nicely presented and cooked to perfection. I don't think I've ever had a chicken dish I enjoyed more. Although the atmosphere is quite casual and maybe not quite what you would be looking for if it was a quiet, cozy atmosphere you wanted. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.
What a great little restaurant! Jan's has a very relaxed atmosphere, excellent service and outstanding food, all at reasonable prices. Clearly, both the cooks and the servers are committed to providing an excellent dining experience. The menu has a very good variety of gluten free options (including the fish and chips!).
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and plan to return regularly. I cannot recommend Jan's highly enough.
We both had the marmalade brie crepes. They had very little substance (I almost couldn't taste the brie at all), and FAR too much soupy marmalade-type sauce. It overpowered the dish and was very messy. The crepes should be more "full" and a drizzle (less than half!) of the sauce would have been sufficient, with such a strong flavour. I liked the idea, but I wouldn't order it again.
We had appy of mussels with white wine sauce and calamari which were great. My wife had the fish ànd chips but she didnt like the batter but liked the fish. I had the cioppino seafood bowl which I enjoyed. Was a busy night in the area and parking was a little difficult. But overall it was a nice evening.
