About

Please call us directly for reservations at this time.

Jan’s on the Beach is White Rock's newest seafood restaurant - fully renovated - with a new ocean view deck at a great location "on the strip".

We offer a "Seafood and more" menu inspired by the multicultural flavours of the Vancouver area, along with a full appetizer menu. All our dishes are made to order from scratch with fresh local ingredients.

We offer daily specials, and on occasion we'll put on wine pairing dinners for you to enjoy.

We also are open for Breakfast and Lunch, and have a Beach Favourites Menu with dishes such as "Fish Bites & Fries" and a tasty Calamari bowl.

Top it off with homemade desserts such as White Chocolate and Blueberry Creme Brule, or Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Grand Marnier Strawberries.

We hope to become your favourite place to enjoy a great dining experience with one of the best views on White Rock's Marine Drive!

We enjoyed our food but went specifically for breakfast as the website stated they have breakfast, lunch and dinner. But we were told that breakfast is only on the weekends. Their menu should be edited to reflect that. Perhaps under the title “Breakfast Menu” it could read “Served Saturday & Sunday” and state the hours of service”. It was disappointing to have our hearts set to enjoy the “Eggs Benedict” and find out we needed to order lunch.

Very good food, view and atmosphere. Will return again. Ordered Cioppino seafood bowl and prawn moqueca, both were very tasty. Had seared scallops to start, romesco was delicious and scallops were big and cooked perfectly.

Spent a beautiful sunny day having lunch with our son at Jan’s On the Beach. It was lovely sitting on the patio - the view, yummy food and service.

My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, our son had the Buddha burger and I had the warm beet salad (the best I’ve had and the goat cheese was so delicious). The three of us thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals and had a wonderful experience.

We have plans to enjoy the breakfast there, next.

Perfect seafood restaurant for Celiacs, gluten-free, and regular eaters alike! The calamari is to die for—truly amazing. All the food was great; fast and friendly service. I’ll be back!

Yes, they were busy but it took over an hour between our order and when we were served. My baked potato was cold and hard (undercooked) which implies the order was rushed. The ribs were also cold and far too much sauce. A very disapointing experience.

It’s so nice to have a dedicated gluten free facility for fish and chips! My husband has celiac disease and it’s hard to eat out anywhere without him feeling like a burden

Had the opportunity to dine at Jan's with friends that had some food allergies. The food choices available to handle a Gluten Allergy were many. The Menu has options for almost any diet it would seem The preparation was of high quality and portions generous.
Staff were attentive and helpful. It is a small venue but is set up to not feel cramped.

We ordered a three course special. Several options but we were both very happy with our meals. The server was attentive and helpful. We keep going back to this restaurant because of its consistency, creativity and quality.

The Halibut was first rate! Wish there were a few more vegetables and slightly less risotto but that is being quite particular. I’ll look forward to eating here again!

Excellent food and location.
Service is good, and a lovely patio.
The only negative was that one of the servers seemed a little abrupt in her mannerisms. Maybe just a bad day for her.
It was my first time, so I will revisit

The service was very good. Friendly, quick and answered any questions we had. The focaccia bread and crab-artichoke dip for an appetizer was the perfect choice, as they were both super tasty. We also had a couple of the specials which were very tasty as well.

Our 38th anniversary. The restaurant phoned 2 hours before our reservation to say that they were booked for a private party. They cancelled the reservation.

Disappointing and unprofessional.

Like the "scratch"kitchen. Service was terrible. Not very busy. Sat with a dirty plate for a very long time. Tried to get attention, but nothing. Chef did a fabulous job of halibut.

Enjoyed the experience here. First time and the food was fantastic. Calamari was light and delicate flavour. Lots of different options available from seafood to pork schnitzel. The chef and team are working in the open so you can enjoy their banter and see what they are doing. The meal was excellent, I would go back.

Wow! Absolutely DELICIOUS seafood in Celiac-safe deep fryers! It was such a pleasure to have battered calamari again...so crispy and delicious! Fries are fresh-cut local potatoes that are crispy (not heavy) yet fluffy on the inside. Jan’s On The Beach is perfection!

We had a meal that was not very good. We have been to Jan’s before....and thought we would try it again. We had a Taste of White Rock offering that featured scallops wrapped in smoked ham/prosciutto. The meat overpowered the scallops....and the scallops were overdone to the point of being dry. It was such a massive mistake that it soured the evening. We really want th beach restaurants to succeed....and give them all at least a couple of chances...however...this was such a miss that I doubt we would return on our own.

I picked the restaurant based on the Taste Of White Rock featured menu. It looked amazing. My friend and I had a 6:30pm seating time for a Saturday nite. The baby shrimp and roasted veggie stuffed trout I had planned to order was already sold out this early in the evening. Extremely disappointing. The chicken dish we end up ordering my friend didn't like, and we both thought the spaetzle was tastless and a very mushy texture. The waitress was friendly but seemed bit inexperienced. Asking if we're ready for bill before we had even gotten our dessert which was part of the 3 course meal and not asking if we wanted coffee or tea either with the dessert.
Overall we both weren't impressed.

Jan’s is my favorite White Rock/South Surrey restaurant. This small restaurant has great food and excellent service. And if you need Gluten-Free options, there is no place better in the Vancouver area—you can even order GF fish and chips, what a treat. Ambiance is great with a charming European bistro flare and original art on the walls. Attention to detail is evident in quality ingredients, and thoughtful service, right down to individual cloth towels in the powder room. Moderate prices, not at all expensive, and a super waterfront location in White Rock near the Pier. Highly recommend for get together with friends and couples dining. I have ate there as a single as well and was perfectly welcomed.
