Jane Ratings and Reviews
I loved the appetizers we got - the tuna tacos, the sweet & sour cauliflower (sooo good) - and the entrees were good but some things (the burger, the meatballs) weren't quite as interesting as I would've wanted. Our waitress was so friendly, it's nice and dark on the inside, and it's in a good location. I'd go again for a weeknight dinner happily.
The service and staff were excellent and accommodating but the quality of the food was subpar. We have been to Jane many times over the years and have always had a quality meal but tonight was much different. The gnocchi was dry, over cooked and had no flavor, like it was heated in a microwave. The gnocchi had always been a favorite dish of ours. The short rib was very bland and very well done and the tuna tacos were almost inedible taste wise. While normally a nice dining experience, the food was not what we have come to expect.
This is the second time I've dined at Jane and loved it both times. The food is unique and delicious -- more than just basic breakfast food. The drinks are delicious. This restaurant is ALWAYS packed so definitely make reservations. I will continue to go back here and would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Thanksgiving dinner was special at Jane. Service was personal, friendly and attentive. Food was substantial, tasty and good value. The turkey was served with white meat on top of shredded dark meat to meet all preferences. Sides were ample and tasty. All servings were ample. Maybe next year I’ll request a half portion — too much food for this 5 foot person who has no interest in gaining weight!!
If we return to NYC again for Thanksgiving next year, we’ll definitely be back. It’s hard to think about trying another restaurant when Jane serves the holiday meal.
Thank you, to all of the staff at Jane. ❤️🦃
We were visiting for the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, and had the holiday lrefix dinner. It was fabulous, from the butternut squash soup, to the turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted root veggies, cranberry sauce, to the dessert of pumpkin spice cake with vanilla gelato. Service was impeccable, nice atmosphere, wait staff never even let the water go down. I would return in a heartbeat!
Went to Jane for lunch this week. The wine list is very impressive. The service was just wonderful. And our food was delicious. My wife and I both had different steak dishes and they were both excellent. We had a great lunch at Jane. Definitely will be back.
Pastry Basket (Good) - Sticky Buns (Very Good) - Jane Burger (OK)
American Menu - Atmosphere was good - Food was ok, not great - Service was massively disappointing - Similar type restaurant to the Smith and if you have to choose, choose the Smith every time - Bloody Mary (OK - lacking garnishes and strength) - Waiter forgot to brings sides we ordered, we did not bring it to his attention - Was not very attentive at all - The burger sounded good on the menu, but ended up being a very boring burger - overall we were all massively disappointing besides the sticky buns - would not go back
We we’re pleasantly surprised with our experience at Jane. Last minute dinner plans on Saturday night limited our options so we were just happy to find a table in our neighborhood. But the evening turned out great! Lovely atmosphere, good food and quiet enough to have a conversation. We would definitely go back
I have come to Jane several times and love their French toast. As soon as we were seated we were informed that the delivery truck hadn’t arrived so they weren’t able to make the French toast. I was extremely disappointed but found something else that I was satisfied with.
It’s usually very loud as the tables are very close to each other so you can’t help but hear your neighbors’ conversations. This particular morning, however, one of the waiters was cursing so loudly at one of his coworkers that everyone could hear it. It went on for several minutes and started in the back but when the coworker tried to walk away into the bar area in the restaurant,he was followed by more cursing. Very unprofessional and disturbing to hear when you’re trying to enjoy your brunch.
