Food was good, but the portion size of the prosciutto/burrata appetizer was a JOKE. Tiniest serving of cheese ever - was absolutely not worth the price tag. Couldn’t believe they were seriously serving something so small.

Very tight seating with many open tables. Gnocchi is very large and pasty. The burger was great but noisy and our server was distracted, not paying attention to low water glasses or empty plate.

We went to Jane after seeing a film at the nearby Film Forum. It had good reviews and was close by; the fact that it's associated with Sarabeth's sold us. But our experience was negative from the beginning. The music was so loud that we could not hold a conversation. I asked our waiter to turn it down. He said he would but didn't, so I asked again. At that point they turned the music off for a minute or two, then it came back on full blast. So, we were resigned to not talking. The floor was slippery except in the bathroom, where it was sticky -- yuck!
The food, unfortunately, did not make up for the rest of the experience. Our French toast was not cooked inside, and the side of hash browns were tasteless. The waiter never came back to inquire about our meal until we were ready for the check, so my coffee went unfilled. Worst of all, my son found a hair in his french fries! This was undoubtedly the worst restaurant experience we've had in a long time -- maybe ever -- and it spoiled what had been a fun afternoon. I would absolutely NEVER go to this establishment again!

First time here to see what the hype was about and I could I was really impressed at how we were seated within minutes once we walked inside. A reservation is highly recommended otherwise it’s about an hour and a half wait for walk-ins.

The food was yummy. I had the Vanilla bean French toast that was crunchy on the edges and cooked to perfection. I added scrambled eggs and some bacon. The bacon was crunchy and smoky. Simply amazing. Our waiter made sure our drinks were filled and made sure everything was ok. He definitely deserved that generious tip.

I would certainly go there again, definitely a place to go with friends or even a date :)

We were there with a 10AM reservation for brunch. We ordered the popover eggs, vanilla bean French toast and the short rib hash. Sides were bacon, biscuits, Brussels sprouts. All good. For drinks we had a mimosa, Bloody Mary and a passion fruit screw driver, all the drinks were light in alcohol content. I expected more than what was served. Good and service were great. I’d skip the mixed drinks. I could order juice at half the cost.

We had an 8:45pm reservation for 4 and were seated downstairs at a table for 8. Unfortunately, the other 3 tables (all large tables with groups of 8 - 12) were very energetic and boisterous and the noise level was almost untenable. The waiter had a hard time taking our order as the ambient noise was so high. It is pretty clear this room is normally used for large parties as there were no tables which sat less than 8 people. While the food was OK, not great, the evening was spoiled by the atmosphere. We have been to Jane many times and we were taken aback with both the atmosphere and the mediocre quality of the food. Not sure we will be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service was top-notch! I hadn't been to this neighborhood in ages so it was fun to experience it again. A great place to dine before or after a show at the nearby Angelika Theater.

We Use to dine here all the time. Food has changed. We were served wet bread, notified the server and then he said in a louder voice if we would like more bread. No thank you. Calamari dish has changed, its not so flavorful bit bland. Monkfish was tasty, tho small portions on cauliflower sides with the dish. Use to love the truffle mushroom soup but no longer available.
Table that came after us put in their drink order after us got their drinks asap...and we had to ask again after 15 mins if they put our drink order in. Not quite the quaint service I remember it to be. Sorry Jane dropping you from my dining list. Did not enjoy our dining experience, rather disappointed.

I must say that I had the best pork chop in my life ever at Jane! What made the experience even better was how accommodating the staff was when I asked if the music could be lowered. What a massive difference it made to our experience! The couple next to us thanked us for asking as they'd said that it just jumped in volume after they arrived, and they were having to yell to hear each other. I've asked this at other restaurants and gotten attitude and no adjustment, so thank you to Jane for responding to your customer's requests! I'll definitely be back!

Whole party showed up on time for our reservation but it took 20 minutes to sit down since our table wasn't ready.

The service was ok. I have to say if you want to make more $ with tips and make $, come by more to ask if we want to get another cocktail when are drinks are empty. I asked the server twice to come by.

Half of the table ordered signature eggs benedict and the poached eggs were overcooked for the table who ordered it. We asked them to do it again and 2nd time they were half over cooked poached eggs which at that point we gave up.

Service was terrible. At one point our waiter had ignored us for so long we flagged down another waitress. She kindly took our order (after clarifying the order 3 times) and then never put it in. Instead she sent our original waiter back a few minutes later to retake our order. Food was fine but nothing special.

The Singapore noodles are the best in the city, and we have tried them at many other places in and outside of China town. Love the dry pepper shrimp.

Service was good,although....I expected great tasting food. Was looking forward to the popover w scrambled eggs and it made me wish I had ordered something else. The food was cold when It came to the table and the popover was overdone. Not a cheap place to eat either. Have had much better.

Took the family to NYC for spring break and the menu looked great for a Saturday morning brunch. Overall, the food was mediocre considering the price ($150 for 2 adults and kids with only one brunch cocktail). No complaints with the service or ambiance.

I had been to the Jane before for brunch, and was wondering what it would be like for dinner. When I found out that an evening client event would bring me to the area, I decided this was the perfect opportunity! Even though my sister, who was set to accompany me, was running late, the Jane was more than willing to seat me at my scheduled reservation time. Upon sitting, the waitress came over pretty immediately and asked if she could get me water/bread as I waited for my guest. I actually ended up placing the order for myself and on behalf of my sister. The dishes came out within 10 minutes, so the waitress offered to hold it in the back to keep it warm. Sitting at a restaurant alone can bring some insecurity, but the entire waitstaff at the Jane was very welcoming and accommodating. Keep in mind, this mishap occurred on a Monday night, which might have allowed them to be more flexible than had it been a Friday/Saturday. Nevertheless, I was very pleased with their hospitality!

Well, it’s normal restaurant. I expected so much, but it’s not excellent but average. Even I ordered Egg Benedict with Salmon, they served another Benedict. Of course, I told them about Food and they made it again. And taste was good but it’s not special. One time is enough for me to go to Jane.

I went here after a recommendation for brunch as a solo traveler. It didn't feel welcomed. The staff was unattentive and having their own fun (which is not something I'm againist but could be more interested at the same time). The price is expensive compared to much better breakfast locations around

Although we had an Open Table reservation for 4, and the restaurant was empty, they tried to seat us at the most undesirable table. There was a general confusion amongst the staff. The waiter was not clear on the menu. The menu had strange pairings of food. The food was all pretty tasteless except for the flavor of heat. My daughter does not like chilis but loves mussels and asked if the chilis could be left out. She was told they could do a white wine broth instread. Great. Except, guess what? Tons more chilis than in the tomato chili broth. No garlic or any flavor except super hot. Just really an overpriced and amateurish operation.

Maybe the best Bloody Mary I have ever had. Perfect amount of spice Was disappointed when they ran out of the special pancakes, but the waitress assured me I would not be disappointed with the vanilla bean French toast. She was right. It was delicious. Shared the French toast and the crab cakes benedict, which also did not disappoint. Crab cake was full of crab and breaded just enough to hold it all together. The service was friendly and attentive. I do have to say, they pack you in. Tables are very close together, which could be a negative for some. To me it just added to the energetic vibe.
